February 14th, 1504
Prince Inarmaz' first victory. It was bittersweet.
With reports of a large Avar host moving and burning their winter stores, he was left with the choice of either pursuing the campaign and pressing his advantage or letting the enemy horde raid and pillage as he carried on, putting many of their people at risk over the coldest months of the year.
A rider entered his tent and motioned for him to come.
Outside, there was a dispute over some spoils of war. Both parties claimed the kill and and wanted to claim the golden ring on the victim's finger.
This wasn't the overwhelming victory the Prince was hoping for, however he was still healthy.
He stared blankly at the slumped, unmoving figure of a rider a few meters away as the two men bickered. He certainly had his work cut out for him.
