A list of puns related to "Midan"
"... and after all our trials, all our sacrifices, we finally found it. Gold, enough to buy out a kingdom. All we could ever want. And now its guardian was about to bludgeon us to death with it."
Introducing the Midan, a lawful elemental with a mean streak, and a golden one. This creature is meant to be a powerful boss monster, an ideal guardian poised to teach an important lesson to your party of greedy adventurers. It also has some minions built into its abilities, just so it doesn't get outnumbered, and to let the treasure fight back!

What is a Midan?
Creatures of elemental earth formed of partly-molten gold, they have the shape of a burly humanoid but much larger, and their semi-malleable forms often resemble suits of armour or evoke the sculpted forms of statues. Their bodies are partially melted, warping and flowing at the joints when they move, and if exposed to even more extreme heat they can lose their shape altogether, flowing about the floor like an ooze. This aspect of their being means they can quickly reform their bodies from damage or condense clumps of the most heated parts of themselves into projectiles.
In addition, they possess powerful innate magic that allows them to turn matter, living or unliving, into solid gold. They can channel some of their own magic into anything gold, animating and controlling it.
Where many creatures of elemental earth covet gems and precious metals, Midans detest gold lust and avarice. They're harsh judges to those who seek wealth, especially those who already have wealth enough. Adventurers especially get under their skin, and Midans are quick to condemn treasure hunters who have hurt others in their quest. Often content to simply beat a brutal lesson into those they see as avaricious and see them off, they'll execute without hesitation those who kill for gold or who take from those worse off than themselves. An adventurer seeking their big break might be battered but alive, but a well-off nobleman who uses slaves to mine gold is shown no mercy.
While stubborn, they aren't completely unreasonable. A Midan gua

At first they said there were no projects, then they said these projects were doomed to fail, now theyβre trying to tell us these projects are actually bad for us. This is literally double speak and peak propaganda in my opinion. Theyβre saying we lost our soft power and our alliances are shaky? For fucks sake the Egyptian army is 12 inches deep inside of Sudan and Libya, plus weβre making huge advancements in Iraq. We did lose our way in terms of culture and education, but at least weβre on the right path towards fixing our country.
Theyβre trying to destroy the pride we have in our own country, our own streets, and our identity. Theyβre telling us to our face no matter what we do, weβre not good enough. Our country is by no means perfect (not even close) but it amazes me how much money goes into destroying the morale of the Egyptian citizen.
Anyone got a clue? they sound like bombings.

##Gordian Raid Meta in Review for the Benefit of Those Not Present: ####If you were there you can skip this section
During the 3.0-3.2 raid cycle, the community settled pretty rapidly on an abstractly optimal party composition. The focus was maximum DPS output, because DPS walls were, broadly speaking, the largest barrier for players during progression.
The comp was:
> * WAR + DRK for maximum tank DPS; option for PLD on A2 because of Cover on Snipers
> * WHM + SCH because WHM outperformed prebuff AST as a burst healer, and SCH provided more reliable DPS in the accuracy-and-MP-starved environment of Gordias
> * DRG + NIN for maximum party DPS synergy, with DRK's Delirium as an additional strike against MNK's defensive utility; option for MNK on A2 because of great sustained AoE
> * BRD because most players had an easier time producing respectable damage with it than MCH, and because Foe Req was abstractly stronger with a single caster than prebuff Hypercharge with double melee for most groups
> * SMN for A2 because of its AoE; BLM for A1, A3, A4 because of infinite resources and higher overall DPS potential
Some groups had success with exceptional players of the out-of-favor jobs (see: Aiurily Ari of Sargatanas' 7th Heaven Bakery and Risicu Maru of Lucrezia for dedicated MCH progression in Gordias), but their success didn't reshape the opinion of the raid community at large.
The four DPS slots saw a bit of variance from the meta-preferred comp, but FFLogs clear statistics show an overwhelming homogeneity in the tank and healer metas throughout Gordias, especially in NA/EU. Very few groups ran AST or PLD outside of JP, whose raiding culture has always been a bit more tolerant of non-meta job selections for progression.
##How the Meta Has Shifted in 3.2:
3.2 brought balance changes that made MCH, PLD, MNK, and AST much more attractive to the community. This, accompanied by the abundant forced downtime and increased damage intake in Midas, led many groups to experiment with formerly niche jobs.
A few redditors who have done so off the top of my head:
Phantom Assassin, star DRG of Exodus' Rogue FC swapped to MNK for A7S progress
Sleigh Presty of Diabolos' No Bully, a SMN at the start of the tier, locked BLM from A7S onward
Shindaneko Hansha, of the aforementioned 7th

While the quality is not the best I manged to get some clean screenshots that show one man firing at least six (if not more off camera) shots at anyone inside moving toward the windows of the burning building

Same guy taking aim and clearly firing two shots at Pro-Russians inside @ 6:28 http://i.imgur.com/naIlOLZ.png
Another shot fired at 6:23 http://i.imgur.com/jO1AKnG.png
3 shots fired @ 7:10 http://i.imgur.com/pHRaYHU.png
Best image I can get of the mans face: http://i.imgur.com/9hdWJoq.png.
Relating to who started the Fire.
Most damming evidence of all can he heard at 5:48 as the crowd cheers, two seconds later as the camera moves we can see inside the window that was previously smashed and the inside now engulfed in flames as another molotiv is thrown by the man in the green hat and another can be seen near the window in mid flight http://i.imgur.com/xjcYBvi.png
What appears clear to me is that anyone inside who came near the windows was fired upon from outside. If the shots were coming from the pro-russians inside then the croud would not be so calm and mob like
EDIT: Can anyone tell what the man at 2:47 is holding? Could it be a pipe bomb/explosive? http://i.imgur.com/TiCqp5s.png
They were around 15-25 sounds, not loud or strong, but very audible, and very repetitive and I can hear ambulances, they must be close. anyone got an idea?
As the title says: My inventory gets filled with tarnished midan lenses, cranks and similar as well as antique helms, breeches and so on.
I either have better gear or simply don't want the ones I did not get yet, so what is the ideal way to deal with such loot items, if you assume I got everything from the vendors.
Hey all,
I know some 220 crafted and pentamelded are BiS till 240 midan for certain classes. But isnt the vit and str upgrade from lore breeches more beneficial for tank ? Also if melded with 2 crit V ?
Sincerely,
A warrior thinking of buying lore breeches this week.
