A list of puns related to "Meat Pie Western"
Hopefully one that is open tomorrow - I have an overwhelming hunger for pie, please help.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I will add these all to google maps and try each and every pie. PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY!
I have decided there are too many "best pie" awards out there, everyone seems to win an award and I don't buy it. The best pie must be found and declared by myself, and more importantly by each and every one of you. There can be only one. PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY! PIE DAY!
Lately, I've been watching a lot of film and TV Westerns and I realized that, while several of them were Spaghetti Westerns, none of them were Australian. I thought that was odd, considering Australia is much more similar to America in the sense of having a giant historical frontier of cowboys/stockmen. So, I'm looking for recommendations. You can mention American/Spaghetti/Space/Whatever Westerns you like, too.
I want to make something different with my ground beef that isnβt the standard fare I usually go for. Iβm a proficient cook and am not picky with βout thereβ flavours or cuisines. I have a well stocked pantry and fridge and am also willing to pick up whatever additional ingredients I might need.
If you have a recipe that uses a different kind of meat feel free to add that too because why not!
Thank you so much!

I'm in the mood for a meat pie as I haven't had one in forever. I don't have them much so if I'm going to get one it needs to be good.
What are the best in the western suburbs, or close by (can do the more north end of the southern suburbs)?
Thanks
Like a bakery made Australian style meat-pie??
like one with crusty yummy thick crust and rlly chunky beef chunks inside with some tomato sauce too yummmm
As I write this, I'm biting into a Mince Pie, a sweet pie with a filling of mincemeat, that is, finely chopped dry fruits and spices. The name seems to imply a filling of ground beef(minced meat), which definitely is not the case. Interestingly, according to wikipedia, historical recipes did in fact use mutton, beef or venison.
Even more interestingly, the word meat didn't always refer to animal flesh, but any kind of food in general.
>From Middle English mete, from Old English mete (βmeat, foodβ), from Proto-West Germanic *mati, from Proto-Germanic *matiz (βfoodβ), from Proto-Indo-European *mehβd- (βto drip, ooze; grease, fatβ). Cognate with West Frisian mete, Old Saxon meti, Old High German maz (βfoodβ), Icelandic matr, Gothic πΌπ°ππ (mats).
Thought this was interesting. What do you guys think about putting meat in your dessert?
I'm really craving a meat pie, are there any keto options that anyone is aware of?
Here's the context; I'm a bit of a hypochondriac. For example I wash all the utensils + plates from my drawer before I use them because it'll be cleaner and it gives me a peace of mind and I know there are spiders in the drawers. Anyway my girlfriend decided to bake me a meat pie. I love meat pies and she told me it was on the counter cooling off. So I surfed the internet for a bit and waited and came back to the kitchen counter.
That's when I saw not one, but two flies walking all over the pie. I rushed over and shooed them away with my hands. I felt a bit sick knowing there were insects that just walked over something I was about to eat. But my girlfriend made it and I had to eat it. So I went over to the sink and rinse the pie under cold water. Just for a quick few seconds. My girlfriend walked in and she asked what I was doing and I said I was rinsing the pie. She rushed up to me and said why I was doing that and I explained that I saw two flies walking over it and I still wanted to eat it since you made it and she got really angry. Basically she said I ruined her pie and no one washes their food. She's still angry over it.
Am I the asshole? I was always the cleaner one and I'm stringent about hygiene. And I like eating food the way I like to eat it. Obviously I wouldn't wash a pie if someone else was eating it but in this case it was me eating it and I didn't mind eating a wet pie. It was still tasty! The way I see it, some people would put their own version onto things, like putting mustard or ketchup onto pie. I just like to clean my pie if it gets dirty. If you don't shame people for putting mustard on to pie, why shame me for rinsing it?
Edit: am i allowed to respond to people's comments? can I provide my own perspective to their reply or is this not allowed on the sub? thanks
Double Edit: To clarify, the pie was for me only. She made it just for me, so I washed it because I was the only one eating it.
