The current era of political and hysterical "wokeism" of contemporary times, characterized by fanatical mobs attempting to enforce ideological purity and the hysterical demonization of certain political/moral/ethical persuasions, will be looked at in coming decades the same way out-of-control 1950s McCarthyism is looked at today... which was similarly an era characterized by political witch-hunting, censorship, ideological fanaticism and convenient character assassinations. The people who are today pushing the woke ideology, who currently feel confident in their righteousness and moral/political superiority, will be looked at just as poorly and unfavorably as the crazed McCarthy witchhunters of the 1950s, who also saw themselves as having a special righteousness and moral/political superiority.
Go watch the intro video for Fallout 1, and pay special attention to the part where the news talks about how “brave” the power-armour-clad US soldiers forcefully annexing neutral Canada are as they shoot an unarmed Canadian in the head while he’s tied up on his knees and then wave happily to the camera.
Or go look at the remains of the ethnic concentration camps in Fallout 3 and New Vegas where Chinese Americans who’d never been to china were sent on suspicion of being enemy spies.
These are just two small examples.
Pre-War USA in the Fallout universe would have made the nazis look like hippies.

According to President Joe Biden, Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is now on the side of George Wallace, Bull Connor, and Confederate leader Jefferson Davis.
Why? Because Sinema said Thursday she opposes nuking the Senate filibuster so Democrats can ram through a bill to federalize elections. In Biden’s book, that puts Sinema on the side of slavery and Jim Crow.
“Every official in America,” Biden said in a widely mocked speech Tuesday in Georgia, has to choose: “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. [Martin Luther] King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”
I guess Sinema chose the Confederacy. (REALLY - The President Should Be ASHAMED of Himself).

Makary zeroed in on natural immunity and COVID booster shots for teens. He criticized the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) rush to push boosters for 16- and 17-year-olds based on lab experiments suggesting boosters raise antibody levels against Omicron.
Vaccine makers announced the results of the experiments without releasing any of the underlying scientific data, Makary said.
“Is this what we’ve come to,” Makary asked? “Pharma tells us what to do and the CDC just falls in line?”
Say that for whatever reason, McCarthyism never becomes a thing. How would McCarthy respond to this? Would the United States not take communism as seriously as they did IOT? And what would happen in the long term as a result?
