A list of puns related to "Masi"
Does anybody feel the way Michael Masi talked to Toto at the end of the Abu Dhabi GP made his decision seem personal? Like a big fuck you?
| saw there was an article stating Mercedes has done a deal with the FIA so that Lewis will not leave F1 but Masi will get the sack.
This was in the Daily Mail so maybe rubbish
TLDR: I don't think firing Masi is the silver bullet to fixing F1 and it would bring more problems than it solves. Other solutions might be better.
Hear me out because I know a lot of you think he should get the sack. I'm not out to defend the indefensible and the inconsistency in decisions made by the FIA while Masi has been at the helm have certainly left a lot to be desired. But in the interest of playing devils advocate for a moment, I feel that in some respects Masi is being scapegoated for others failures. The safety car incident in AD is absolutely Masi's doing but the inconsistency of penalties and investigations is down to the stewards surely?
Take Brazil: the stewards have the authority to investigate incidents that they note themselves. They don't need the race director to notify them of it every time . They took the decision (wrongly) to not investigate. I don't see how that is Masi's fault nor do I see how sacking him would change that.
Next, I think the often overlooked part of firing Masi is that someone would have to replace him. The question is who is experienced enough to fill his shoes. Johnny Herbert said on Sky Sports F1 that he couldn't think of anyone who would be good for the role. My concern would be if Masi goes, he gets replaced by someone who is even worse than he is. As Martin Brundle said, be careful what you wish for.
My personal opinion on the situation is we need to clamp down on the regulations, things need to be as black and white as possible. Secondly, Masi needs to have assistance. Charlie had Herbie Blash to help him, Masi as far as I can tell has no one. Finally, the teams need to stop being able to lobby the race director. Instead of talking to him directly either the teams sporting directors only get to talk to race control and/or have someone in race control who the teams talk to who can then relay messages to Masi who can decide whether he wants to talk directly to the teams.
What do you think? Is his position untenable, should he be sacked, who would he be replaced with
Given the recent turmoil about masi getting fired, I've noticed a recent influx of people trying so hard to defend masi and i simply don't understand why, weren't Lewis haters always shouting "MaFIA" whenever max was penalized? I was pretty sure everyone wanted masi out but suddenly everyone is a literal Michael Masi fanboy?
