A list of puns related to "Malecot's Method Of Coancestry"
I was debating this while I was stoned last night.. what are your thoughts? Edit how do I turn off notifications
IHOP
Not sure if this is just a guy thing or not, but I've been doing this my entire life. My wife thinks it's gross, but I do not. I think our noses are quite adept at identifying offensive odors, and if something I wore a few days ago passes my sniff test, I'm absolutely going to wear it again.
Saving money on laundering clothes that can be worn again is also a nice bonus to this method.
---------------------------------------------
EDIT: The comment section is full of references to cleanliness, like a stain, or a smudge of ketchup, etc. A person's clothes can appear to be flawless but still reek, and the opposite is true as well; A person's clothes could look like trailer-trash-backyard-mechanic-buttcrack but still smell great.
Regarding "smell blindness": Becoming accustomed to your own particular body smell has nothing to do with a t-shirt you wore three days ago. This is because your unique smell is NEVER the same. Not even once. You will smell different every day of your life because of diet, exercise, weather, geographical location, DNA, and all kinds of other influences. It's a fact.
That shirt you wore three days ago will smell like your body smelled three days ago. If you smell it today, to your nose it's a new smell. If it's nasty, don't wear it. If it smells fine to you now, then it will smell fine to others. It never hurts to get a second opinion, though. Have someone else give it a sniff, too.
People that are insisting on never wearing the same thing more than once before washing because it's disgusting and gross and lazy: How many of you wear a hat every day? Do you wash it every day? What about a hoodie or a jacket or a coat?
Anyways, thank you to everyone for reading and commenting.
In this blog post from Dr. Brad Schoenfeld, he summarizes a recent meta-analysis his team performed comparing HIIT and moderate intensity exercise on fat loss:
He notes a previous meta-analysis came to a different conclusion but has since been retracted after several oddities were found. (Which, as an aside, seems to be a thing plaguing Brazilian research lately.)
The new paper is open source and worth a read, but Brad sums it up nicely by saying:
>Take-home: We can confidently state that HIIT cannot be considered a βmagic bulletβ for fat loss; MICT is equally as effective for achieving this outcome.
Still, the data is not without its limitations and Brad does a good job laying those out and further explaining how different protocols may lead to different results. Then concluding with a message I don't think can be repeated enough:
>Research can help to guide exercise prescription, but ultimately you must determine the best course of action based on individual needs, abilities, and goals.
This is how I draft a manuscript, especially in mind of memoir, but can work just as well for fiction. So here we go :) We're gonna write a book.
---
Keep in mind: Your first draft might always be a hunk of baloney. Just write, don't think too hard. There's nothing about a first draft that can be bad or a mess up because it's a first draft, that's just the nature of the first draft. Hey. You literally can't mess this up.
My advice: Always think a chapter ahead of what you're writing.
>^(Start the draft on paper.) ^(Don't use lined paper when you're drafting a novel) ^((or short story. There may not be a study I can cite for this, but lined paper inhibits the limits of creativity. By not using lined paper, you can also use other pages in close proximity for drawing characters and settings, etc.)) ^(Use a pen.) ^(The boldness of a pen enhances confidence, and discourages the erasure of bad ideas. Go ahead with writing your draft until it feels like it's solid, and chapter X is "all there," with a beginning, middle, and a prospectively good place to stop the chapter. You know what I mean.)
>
>^(Edit: Writing by hand on paper is not accessible for every person. If you've been writing all of your first drafts on word, I'm in awe, because every time I try that, I will read it back and feel like it's just awful! Handwriting them was the solution to me feeling confident about first drafts, and if handwriting a first draft is accessible for you, I completely encourage it, but only based off of my own experiences.)
>^(Take a break from the pen and paper. Transfer your draft verbatim from the paper to a word processor. Try to transfer it verbatim, just get it to the word processor without thinking something needs to be substantially edited.) ^(It's important to just get it on there and not think about changing anything in respect of step 3: Thinking Ahead.)
3. Thinking Ahead
>^("3)**^(. Thinking Ahead)**^(" is in bold with a purpose. It's one of the secrets to writing out chapters to well-rounded and excellent completions, and in turn, it's one of the secrets to writing excellent books with connective, seamless chapters mindful to the rest of your manuscript. Thinking ahead, instead of one chapter at a time, is the secret to mindful writing with chapters that speak coherent

I've heard people say that they're unable to plot, or if they do, they suddenly can't write, just as I've also heard people say that if they try to pants their writing, it becomes terrible. So, I wonder, why is that? And what are some ways to learn how to utilize the other method of writing?
I, myself, find that the more heavily I plan and plot, the more I'm unable to write. But why?
because god really does give his baddest bitches the worst tummy issues
update/edit/note: iβm currently sicker than iβve probably ever been in my life, so the crazy amount of replies helps so, so much. you did all annoy the hell out of my boyfriend, though.. forgot to turn my notifications off and fell asleep. so. many. bings.

Harvard has around a 5% admission rate. In other words, 1 in every 20 people that apply will be accepted.
So, if I hunt down 19 other people that applied to Harvard, that means I have a 100% chance of getting in right?
So as some of you may know, Cassavetes was extremely scornful of method acting, referring to it as "more a form of psychotherapy than of acting", not to mention accusing it of being self-indulgent, sentimental, pretentious and overall just producing bad performances.
His contempt was actually so strong that it inspired him to create his own acting workshop that focused on pure character creation rather than backstory, one that saw acting more as an expression of creative exuberance.
It's important to note how brave this was to do for a then struggling actor in 50s New York, where the Actors Studio was idolized and Cassavetes made plenty of enemies for saying these things. And mind you, this isn't just empty gesturing from a nobody, Lee Strasberg had actually offered him a full ride scholarship after being incredibly impressed by a performance by him which Cassavetes not only rejected but downright mocked him.
Personally I find method acting to be very valid and some of my favorite actors come from that tradition but I do concede that there is a certain degree of validity to what he's saying, there are lot of actors who unfortunately take a very simplistic approach to method.
Any thoughts on this?
During Minecraft Live this year, the Devs expressed interest in allowing bases to have more motion to them, hence the proposed copper golem.
This idea follows in that theme, but utilizes the older mobs rather than introducing a new one to add motion, allowing you to give your base some more life.
(Animal beds are FPS for pet respawns, and pet-Free-roam, in most versions I checked, isn't tied to a block, so this should be in the clear, plus this applies to way more animals)
These various blocks, under the umbrella term "animal beds", all do the same thing, just for different sets of creatures.
The crafting Recipes and Names
*Bamboo and Straw Beds are 2x1, similar to player beds, as they hold larger creatures
Animals of various kinds can "claim" a placed bed (See diagram at bottom), which means that no other creature will attempt to also claim that bed. The explanation being that there's a lasting smell.
In order for an animal to claim a bed, they must either be tamed, trusting of a player, or recently fed (in love), depending on the creature in question. This way, random wild critters aren't stealing your beds.
An animal's claim to a bed remains even if you pick up the bed and put it down somewhere else (Stored info). Because of this, Animal Beds do not stack. In the lore section of the block is the animal type, or if the animal was nametagged, the animal's name.
To remove a claim, run the bed in question through a cauldron of water to scrub off the smell.
When you get an animal to sit on or near their bed, (if they don't sit, just get them to stand on it for a second) they'll enter "free-roam" mode. In actuality, it isn't free.
The animal will wander randomly within 64 blocks of their claimed bed(s), allowing for some extra motion and life in your base, without your pets teleporting to you or your animals running away.
Animals in this mode will also exhibit some extra fun behaviors, like sudden fascination with windows, paintings, flowerpots, and armor stands and stuff. Simple behaviors that are only there to add some life and personality, and to make it feel like they are interacting with man-made surroundings some more.
Animals will continue to free-roam so long as they have a claimed bed and aren't removed from the 64 block radius.
To remove a pet from free-roam mode, simp

I feel like the recent conversations about a "rightoid invasion" might be best served by thinking about this question.
If the purpose of stupidpol is for Marxists to shoot the shit, then yeah, a "rightoid invasion" doesn't sound very good.
On the other hand, if the purpose of stupidpol is to serve as a beacon to attract those who dislike idpol (Marxist and non-Marxist alike), and then provide a "non-woke pipeline to the left" -- as it were -- then a "rightoid invasion" might be... an indicator of success? An opportunity?
If your goal is to persuade, you're never going to have to stop persuading. You're going to experience people asking the same questions, having the same takes, over and over and over again. And you'll have to keep responding to them.
When a rightoid posts a rightoid take, is it a disturbance of the vibes, or is it an opportunity to engage in conversation?
Couldn't come up with the best wording for the title, but I'm basically just looking for tips to help me declutter without a second thought. I form attachments to the most mundane possessions and ADHD/depression makes it difficult to give up anything I'm still remotely interested in (or want to re-become interested in sometime down the road), to the point where I'll think of a shirt for the first time in years and feel genuine regret in getting rid of it, even if I only wore it twice. I can't just ignore the amount of stuff I own now though, it's making a big impact on my life and wellbeing.
What could I do to sort of ease myself into decluttering, even if it's only a little bit?
Edit to add: didn't think about this when I originally made the post, but the majority of the issue pertains to clothing. It's a problem for everything I own, don't get me wrong, but especially clothing.
