A list of puns related to "Macvsog"
Hi-
I am looking to recreate a Vietnam load out, and I am wondering where to get gear?
Any help welcome!
Iβve been reading books / listening to testimonials on the actions of SOG men in Vietnam for the past couple of years. Iβm curious to know why there arenβt more films / tv series / general dramatizations of their missions. The stuff they were doing seems like movie gold for the military genre. There are a few films that portray them generally, but nothing like the stories told by vets. Anyone have any suggestions for movies or shows I mightβve missed? Or any reasoning behind the lack of media on SOG in general?
So Iβve been churning through books on SOG. It seems that during the later life of the unit (1968 and after) it was typical for a Recon Team to magdump all of their rounds and toss all of their grenades at the time of extraction as they loaded into whatever the bird was.
What Iβve also noticed about this time frame is that most extractions were under intense enemy ground fire and that teams were very commonly being pursued by the NVA till the last moment.
Wouldnβt it be kind of dumb to dump all of your rounds as you get extracted, only to be shot down by a Dshka and then youβre in a bright light situation with no ammo or grenades left?
Thoughts? Opinions?

I'm doing some research for a screenplay, and I wanted to know what rank of military officer was in charge of such operations?
Also, as a secondary question, did these classified orders get received verbally in person by one of these military officers?
I'm not too versed with military chain of authority, and I'd like my script to have an ounce of accuracy for this scene I'm doing haha.
Thank you.
A lot of people want the odder weapons and MACVSOG patches on their guys and I've heard people wanting to give the Northern forces more Japanese weapons. I think this could all be made and reserved for skirmish mode. Special operations wouldn't take place on Hill 937 or Hue City but in some Cambodian jungle far away from the fighting. This is where you could have these crazy cool weapons that wouldn't break balance with the small player count, and that would entice people to play Skirmish Servers more. The ability to play a Spec Ops guy in a vest and beret firing a Swedish K would entice and scratch that itch the community is talking about without breaking the big Campaign maps.
Also I was thinking about having the northern forces get 20 seconds to "ghost run" around the map and place their traps before the real round starts, as long as it wasn't directly in a capture point or Southern Forces spawn. This could be balanced out with 1 Spec Ops grenadier having a Car15 under-slung grenade launcher or China-lake. Just wanted to float that idea to the devs and community.
his name is Mac and when he spawns in he says Lets Rock it (EVERY TIME), when he is revived from dbno he says Rock N Roll (EVERY TIME) also when he gets kill. Also when he picks up armor plate he says Lets Rook It. Thanks for reading my idea! Also his gadget is a cool down ability where he doesn't flinch when he is shooting his M60 and Fortunate Son starts playing.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
