Been listening to the soundtrack album and I gotta say, Lucas crushes it. The guy fully commits, has the right playful fun tone, and a great voice. Not sure what heβs been doing the last couple decades, which sucks cause the guy has real talent. Good for him for coming back and showing what he can do. Real professional.
Another example of the creative finding a way to dig deeper and make this series special. Kudos!

Allyson Felix : I don't know if she is planning to retire after Tokyo but this woman is a legend, an underrated legend. I've been following her since I was a kid, I love her, she is the queen of track and field, I would love for her to do the show BUT they better do her right.

Carmelita Jetter : she is retired so she might be more plausible. Like her a lot too and that iconic shot of her pointing the chrono at the finish line of the London relay... Such a memorable moment. I go back and watch that race so many times.

Ashton Eaton : he is retired too and he was such a big face of US Tra k and field. Former record holder of the decathlon, he was on the cover of Vogue before Rio, such a fan of him as well.

Aries Merritt : the current recordman of the 110 hurdles. This man had a kidney transplant in 2015 after being diagnosed in 2013 with a rare disease. He made such a great return and while he is not as popular as others, I think his story is one that could be shared.

Justin Gaitlin : let's get a little controversial here. The bad boy of the stadium, the last one from that Era. Two times suspended for doping, his victory over Bolt in 2017 might be one of most memorable moment ever and I'm curious to see how he would be received on DWTS.

John Drummond : this one will never happen lol. He is not that well known but I remember him from 2003 Paris World Championship when he was disqualified for a false start and refused to move. The "I did not move" phrase is iconic and the fact that after he finally accept the judges decision he was relaxing a jacuzzi, so many memories.
Alright I'm going to stop here for track and field otherwise I won't stop.

Nathan Adrian : like Allyson Felix, I don't know what is plans are after Tokyo but I think he could be nice cast. I'm pretty sure he can't dance but with someone like Lindsay I think he could go very far actually. 2 years ago he was diagnosed with cancer at an early stage but he recovered and made a successful return afterward. That man is always in a good mood even when he loses that's great energy for the show.

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

- Originally Coach Bolton and Ms. Darbus were going to have a duet!
- It got cut due to time running over, but while writing the song for them it was said to be "not so friendly". Bart Johnson (he told this info to Seventeen Magazine), said Kenny Ortega really wanted to keep this number in and was disappointed in it's cut.

Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel HATED each other.
- Ashley said it herself when she went on his YT channel back in 2017. The quote being, "We were not close, we we're not good friends... We hated each other." They didn't spill the tea about why though.
- In other interviews though they hint that Ashley was too much like Sharpay causing the ick between them. She'd do things like give him advice and insist on rehearsing lines.
- Zac Efron didn't sing in the first film!
- At the time Zac wasn't that skilled of a singer, he kept missing the high notes. Drew Seeley sang most of his parts (as he did often for dcoms). Zac was able to hit all his notes in the next two films though, did you notice the voice change?

Original HSM auditions included a basketball portionβ this is unusual for a dcom audition.

The cast could have been totally different...
- "Cassie Steel from Degrassi was originally cast as Gabriella but had to pull out because of her filming schedule for the show. The same scheduling issues prevented Zoey 101's Matthew Underwood from taking on the role of Troy. Then Corbin Bleu originally auditioned for the part of Ryan Evans but thought Lucas Grabeel was better for the part so decided to try out for Chad instead. Obviously, he made the right choice. Looks like everything worked out for the best!"
- Ashley Tisdale also originally audition for the role of Gabrielle rather than Sharpayβ IMO that could have been cute asf.
- Monique Coleman almost quiet acting before HSM, could not imagine anyone else playing Taylor McKessie.
- Younger HSM fans may not know, but there was actually a vote for who the cameo was in it just HSM2, Miley Cyrus won.
- A four second long cameo...
- HSM2 assignments thrown in the opening film were real assignments from the students of the actual school.
- Each assignment had to be checked for inappropriate or embarrassing information first.

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.
I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.
When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."
From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"
Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
Edit: Thanks for all the awards, kind strangers! I'll let my son know y'all enjoyed his joke too!
