A list of puns related to "Lolth"
I mean, in a vacuum, doesn't that just sound cool? Sure, banging around Ravnica or Dominaria is fine, but I think this Standard format is a flavor mishmash win. So well done.
I mean, I'm going to be grouchy like the rest of us when the Kamigawa Alchemy cards are spoiled and there's a card called 'Towashi Gambling Den' in there that activates with gem or gold and flips coins or spins a wheel or something. I can just hear SPBKASO both tut-tutting Arena's economy while also posting a video where he's trying to 'spin it to win it'. Ugh.
He definitely could, since Lolth is only a Lesser Deity(according to the wiki), and Corellon is a Greater Deity. There's a HUGE power disparity between those two ranks.
Corellon also has way more allies and more members in his pantheon, with the Dark Sedarine only having 9 members, while the Seldarine have 39(again, according to the wiki). In fact, if Corellon did go on over to kill Lolth, Ellistrae would probably join him, bringing the numbers to 8 and 40. Once Lolth is dead and forgotten, Corellon could give Ellistrae her portfolios and welcome her back into the Seldarine as the new patron Goddess of the Drow. And multiple of those members are intermediate and lesser deities, so Corellon wouldn't even have to step in. One of those guys could kill her.
He may also be able to get Moradin and the Dwarven pantheon's help, as well as other pantheons if Lolth ever catches wind of his plans and calls in allies.
Also, since they're chaotic, they won't have to worry about the Abyss's corruption. And Moradin took his pantheon and killed the Duregar pantheon, so why doesn't Corellon take the Seldarine and go on a quick trip to Lolth's layer in the Abyss? Is there just some sort of obscure divine law set by Ao or what have you, that says he can't? Or is it that the lore keeps tripping over itself, like the many other times it does?
So to my knowledge after the Second Sundering the gods would meddle less in the affairs of mortals to the point that even the chosen would lose some power and have less contact with their gods. This was a decree by AO if unless I'm wrong. So why is it that Lolth is still very active and would even sometimes bring her avatar in the affairs of the drow.
I am in love with the idea of a Lolth fanatic slowly becoming disillusioned with ideas that they have been instilled with since birth. Iβd like to think that my Lolth-sworn drow characters did not willingly leave the underdark, so their experience on the surface is a complete culture shock. I just think an evil to good player character arc would make for some incredible role playing opportunities. I can only hope!!
Iβve used Lolth a lot and hardly ever get to a point with her where I can use her -8. The couple times Iβve done it it hasnβt played out how I thought it would.
I assumed if I did 2 damage, the opponent would lose life equal to the difference of 8 and 2 which would be 6. is this guaranteeing you will do at least 8 damage when you hit them because it will be the 2 + the 6 from the difference for 8.
It seems like it should do 8 damage. But my opponent had 6 life and I hit them for 2 and then they had 4 life after.
I feel dumb for asking but I donβt get it. What am I missing?
Edit: 2 damage was dealt with one of her spider tokens. That was the only damage I did that turn and they went from 6 life to 4 life. I was expecting the game to end and it did not.
My level 13 Drow Wizard has inevitably managed to earn Lolth's attention in both the best and worst ways. As a male they left the Underdark pre-campaign to get away from the oppression of Drow culture and to expand their knowledge of magic outside of the world below. At first they were very much Lawful Evil within our campaign, co-operating with the other characters only because it benefitted them, but over the years our campaign has been running he's come to see the main party as friends and his alignment has shifted into Neutral. He tried to help another Drow who was feeling out of place with their kind's ways in the Undermountain to get away from Lolth's influence but when a Drow demigod appeared in our campaign and became a long running antagonist, the Drow he was trying to help became lost to him and fell under the demigod's corruption.
Recently the party has assaulted this demigod's fortress and defeated her, a plan that my Drow was a key part of. Now Lolth has started speaking to him when he meditates, telling him he took away one of her favourite toys and now he needs to be punished. He's started growing protrusions beneath his shoulder blades and lower back - yup, he seems to be on a one way trip to Drider town or worse. At the same time she has told him to "become her sorcerer" so she can walk with him at all times on the surface. While the notion of a male Drow being offered such a thing has made for some fun RP potential as my character tries to grapple with what she's asking, he hasn't yet responded to her and knows it's not wise to keep her waiting. My character has no real desire to be tied any closer to Lolth as his whole arc that I've been roleplaying has been about breaking the psychological hold his kind have over him and trying to become his own man free of the Underdark's influence. His mother is a Priestess of Lolth and he knows that turning from the Spider Queen will make him an enemy of his own family but his bigger concern is the transformation Lolth is threatening him with, and the possibility of being summoned to the Demonweb Pits.
I'm considering the possibility of having him try to reach out to either the Drow Goddess Eilistraee or Mystra the Goddess of magic (or their churches) to see if either of them will accept him into their followers and offer any protection. His story would put him perfectly in line with Eilistraee's aims (he also has Bladesinging from Tasha's Guide) and in terms of Mystra, he's a wizard with a love

As the session ended, I narrated that they heard Lolth's voice slide into their minds. "Your sacrifice has been... accepted...".
My first thought is to start to reflavor spell effects to be dark, twisted, spider-webby versions of the normal spell. Beyond that I'm drawing a bit of a blank.
What kind of nasty boon would Lolth bestow upon these 'heroes'?
So Iβm currently running Lost Mine of Phandelver and using Icespire Peak as add-on content where appropriate. My current intention is to keep going into the sequels once weβre level appropriate.
But Iβve been told that the general idea for fleshing out Nezznar from LMoP into a worshipper of Lolth and having him transform into a Drider. Which I love.
But I was wondering if anyone else has thought about swapping out the Myrkul cult that appear in the Beyond Icespire adventures for a Drow Lolth cult. For my campaign this would tie events together much more closely. Is this more complicated that Iβm imagining it is? Or are there problems with this that Iβm not aware of (Iβm very new to DMing and a novice at D&D in general). This is currently a LONG ways down the road for me but I wanted to know othersβ experience anyway.
Hey all, I'm looking for suggestions for a good companion spell for Lolth. If you are not familiar with her, she gains loyalty when your own creatures die. I have bone shards currently in the slot, and while it fuels my sacrifice plan and provides removal, it's at sorcery speed. I'm not shooting for a campy combo or alternate wincon, just an effective deck that builds value toward fun combat wins. Thanks all
Hi guys!, I come to show you how I will handle the end of the campaign to see if interesting ideas arise to apply, and also in case someone likes to apply it in their own game.
I'll start by saying that my version of Nezznar, is a young female drow who failed on her way to become a priestess of Lolth, because she failed to meet the objectives before her superiors, and therefore, before Lolth herself. Since she was raised all her life to become a priestess, this devastated the young Nezznar, who decided to flee Menzoberranzan (drow capital) and seek her own path on the surface to fulfill her goal. Lolth secretly, through visions and dreams showed her disapproval due to her rebelliousness, but she wanted to see how far she would go to gain enough power to become his servant. Lolth lost nothing, she could have fun watching the travails of a random Drow, or see her succeed and have a powerful new priestess to serve her, a win-win scenario.
Along the way she met Vyerith and Vhallak, two sister female dopplegangers who lived for each other, with drow appearance copied from the same dark elf, so they pretended to be twins, and devoted their whole lives to dark and illegal jobs, ideal for a pair of doppelgangers.
After years on the surface seeking power, accompanied by her two servants, Nezznar discovered the stories of the forge of spells and saw in this the opportunity she was looking for, and here you know the rest of the story: she hired the cragmaw tribe and the redbrand for her goals, dealing in between with the group of adventurers that are the players.
Because my players took a long time to get to the cave, Nezznar already took power of it many days ago, but has not been able to advance due to the huge amount of monstrosities inside, which not even the bugbears could defeat (sacrificing several in between). So, Nezznar decided to use the group of adventurers for his own benefit (since they promise to be quite powerful together), "hiring" them to clean the caves, threatening to kill a couple of hostages friends of the group, but pretending to be benevolent by promising them a payment at the end of the cleaning, in addition to their lives and those of their friends, obviously.
It's worth noting that I've done a good development of the "minor" villains, being Vyerith a crazy assassin but who is very sarcastic and deals with dark humor to the adventurers, Vhallak the emo, quiet and introverted version of Vyerith, and Iarno, the cowardly and clumsy wizar
... keep reading on reddit β‘I want to share my experience. I built a custom Lolth-sworn Drow raider group from Menzoberranzan in Underdark. It feels like you're in a petting zoo with four predators. As if it were a group of antagonists in a world where the protagonist is hibernating. Or as if the protagonist is one of the prefabricated Companions, who is now faced with the murderous going-ons. Occasionally the drow are asked about their shady and feared origins, but although the group always answers honestly, the npc quickly moves on to the agenda.
Npc: "Don't drow kidnap children?" Drow: "No, we kill most of them." Npc: "Ah ok, do you want to see my goods?" or: "Drow are not welcome here in the Druid Grove." Drow: "Yes, but we killed the goblins and are really nice." Npc: "Yes, ok, we'll make an exception."
So it goes on and on and the NPC reacts as if the drow were a group of charming villains who are maximally ironic but not cynical. Funny enough, the whole thing is accompanied by the almost constantly smiling drow group, who sometimes even look really nice or worried. In terms of my own role play, I interpret the reactions of the group in such a way that they are amused or stunned by the naivety of the people around them. People who usually don't live long after meeting the drow. The ones who really know whats going on are the goblins. To them it is immediately clear that they can only get away if they pay close attention and are careful what they do. Overall, a very refreshing player experience.
If my [[Lolth]] and another creature are pinged for 1 (each with one loyalty and toughness, respectively, does Lolth survive because of her static ability from the 1 toughness creature dying?
I was curious about the Children of Malice. From what I understand these Drow are basically your standard Lolth worshipping Drow. I looked online and it states ...
The Children of Malice are a small, secret faction of spies and assassins in service to Lolth who hope to overthrow the Kryn Dynasty and return the drow to their previous worship. They work in secret, primarily as sleeper agents scattered throughout Xhorhas or as outlanders raiding Kryn settlements and building forces for when they strike. As a result they have no formal alliances and tend to gather information through normal interactions with the residents of the Wastes and Rosohna.
According to this these Lolth worshipping Drow are few in numbers but it mentions that a matron Mother exists which makes me believe that they exist within the Underdark like in other settings. I could have swore I read somewhere that within the Underdark a city of Lolth worshipping Drow exists but I cannot seem to find this.
Basically me thinking realistically - I would "think" that within the Underdark Drow and Drow cities would exist much like normal D&D setting yes?
This exciting new partnership with our multi-eyed friends from the Abyss allows us to offer a number of new and exciting monsters and pets to keep your dungeons, towers, and lairs free of those pesky heroes!
Out of 67 Liches surveyed, 43 said that their biggest issue with monsters was the unfortunate tendency to turn on their masters, displaying the hubris of attempting to control wild nature, and 17 said it was the lack of four arms with razor sharp claws. Well, neither of those are a worry anymore with the all new Draeglothβ’! The Draeglothβ’ is specifically designed to be subservient and easy to command. It's the best way to make an adventurer look like a strawberry smoothie put into a blender with no lid.
We've all had it happen before: You bring a few giant spiders into your underground lair to add ambience, and you wake up to find the entire place filled with massive cobwebs and corpses drained of blood. Instead of spending hours every day cleaning up, why not grab our catalog and order your very own Driderβ’! All the menace and terror of a giant spider, with none of the nasty cleanup work!
What's the number one complaint by evil masterminds about their minions? The fact that they're so limited in what they can do. You need to hire a separate assassin, spy, and muscle, then manipulate them into joining you, work out a dental plan, sign waivers... it's just too much work. But, for a limited time only, that won't be a concern with a Yochlolβ’! Yochlol are the ultimate fusion of all your evil needs! You want a shapeshifting spy? They can do that. You need an imposing giant spider? They've got you covered. You want a cloud of mist to sneak up on your enemies? No problem. You really, really need a giant pile of half melted yellowish flesh with tentacles? Just say the word. And all that versatility comes with the added bonus of resistance to magic, as well as most elemental or physical attacks.
So don't wait! Take back your dungeon today!

Any contract or waiver signed by customers may cause them to lose their immortal souls to the clutches of the Spider Queen. Or they might not. Honestly, we don't know. We keep asking our legal team to look into it, but the only response we get is a hoarse voice yelling "Rua ixhaiccr cuumkt hjon af? wkkkkkbt" then screami
