A list of puns related to "Lensman"
It doesn't matter if it is Out Of Print or Still In Print all that matters to me is that it is complete collection of all 7 books converted into an omnibus of 1 book in physical form!
Wondering where I should start. It sounds like Galactic Patrol was the technical first novel, and as much as the backstory in Triplanetary sounds cool Iβd like to get right into the action with the actual, well, lenses. Is there a unique reading order someone would suggest or should I just start with Triplanetary and read through in proper order?
The two series of his that I've read are the Family D'Alembert series and Lensman series.
It's all so cheesy! But also super enjoyable.
And stories like these are where our TV space operas like Star Trek and Star Wars started.
Family D'Alembert has a pretty decent plot in all books, and culminates in a way I both did and did not expect - then going back over the books again all the references become obvious.
With its writing style, the Lensman series takes some effort (for me!) to get through, but if anything ever deserved to be made into animated TV or a graphic novel ... damn. The whole series reads like a comic book series. The characters and plot developments and fictional technology are over-the-top enough to give anything from DC or Marvel a run for their money. The explosions and fights are just fun to read, but you know they'd be putting Hollywood to shame in all respects.

This cut up solo supplement is system neutral, but focused on Space Opera as a genre.
Cut up solo is a method of solo roleplaying where texts, in this case the first two E. E. "Doc" Smith Lensman novels are chopped into four or five word 'snippets'. You then draw snippets at random and try and join them up to create sentences or paragraphs of what the GM in a roleplaying game would say to you. You can then roleplay against that, reacting to the text you built, and then the process repeats.
This supplement consists of a PDF book containing 2000 random snippets from the novels, and spreadsheets set up to randomly sample the texts that contain 35,000 snippets.

Quantum reapers are made by a spacebattler that got angry that the reapers lost against the Forerunners. So, he multiplied their stats by 10^20. The stats that are multiplied here are firepower, toughness, speed, reflexes, range, intelligence, and hax. The Reapers are also immune to control abilities and existence based attacks.
Example : A Reaper's main cannon has a low estimate firepower of 1.32*10^5 tons of TNT. Now, the Reaper's main cannon has the firepower of 1.32*10^25 tons of TNT.
The three verses start next to each other at an edge of the universe. The Reapers start at the other edge of the universe.
Everything is bloodlusted. Everything has it's full assets. No extradimensional / ascension / time / existence based thingies are allowed.
There's this music that's in 28:40, 30:00, 32:40, probably elsewhere in this film. I've been looking for the track in the Robotech soundtracks as suggested everywhere else I've asked, but I can't seem to find it. Please tell me it exists somewhere.
The movie is a condensed version of the Lensman: Galactric Patrol series released in Japan in 1984-1985. It offers an alternate retelling of the similarly titled and also dubbed by Harmony Gold movie Lensman: Secret of the Lens. The whole series is essentially lost media, and won't see a rerelease any time soon, mostly due to Doc Smith's estate finding the adaptation inaccurate and distasteful.
