A list of puns related to "Kumite"

Hereβs the live thread for the tournament where the new DLC character will be announced!
It's time. We're likely over a year away from the next Mayan god in Smite and it's long been chronicled as a sticking point that the community has not chosen one. It's a bit odd but...
Who would you like as the next Mayan god?
To vote, simply comment a clear statement of who you'd like and the top upvoted responses will qualify for an episodic "Character vs. Character" tournament hosted right here. The winner, if done correctly, may be considered our humble champion to Hirez.***
Here are some refreshers and a little template I made to submit your own. Remember, you're not voting for my ideas. These are just placeholders to get the rhythm going. I also suggest linking past God concepts you endorse.

Acat - Tattoos and tattooing
+A sinewy, heavily tattooed man with a flamboyant feathered headdress and some alarmingly large needles in his hair
-Splashes ink puddles onto the map
-Swims through the puddles to navigate in relative stealth (think Splatoon)

Ek Chuaj - Merchants, cacao, and warriors
+Dark skinned man, circled eyes, with a big bag of goods and a big lower lip. Big scorpion tail.
-When Ek Chuaj participates in a jungle boss kill, his team is granted or immediately fed a chocolate consumable that can be eaten for a power buff or sold to the fountain.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Tunkuruchu - Spitefully telling people they're gonna die and insta-killing people by hooting
+Tunkuruchu is a big fluffy owl which typically look good in Smite, see: Strix Fenrir
-Tunkuruchu is a support Warrior who heals allies with plates of food from the banquet of birds.
-Unlike Bacchus he's a sad drinker and he gets tipsy off of balchΓ©. This is an overheating mechanic in exchange for low cooldowns that increases basic attack damage when high.
-When he mitigates enough damage, he becomes embarrassed and his ult enables a hoot that executes gods.

Vucub Caquix (Seven Macaw) - Demonic bird lord of Xibalba
+A fabulous rainbow bird with murder eyes.
-Good marksmanship with his blowgun,

Thought I might give this thread a go, as we don't really have these on here, and Red Bull Kumite is always a great event to spectate.

... keep reading on reddit β‘My coach has offered to enter me into a local full-contact (but no head punching) kumite competition. I've always wanted to enter a competition, but I'm having doubts about this one for some reasons:
So I'm not sure if participation is right for me or not. There are obviously great gains in practicing towards the competition, but I don't think it is motivating for me to enter a competition with a weight and height disadvantage (the latter might have some strategies, but I've struggled to get good coaching or find anything online about them).
What kind of advice or motivation would you give? I'm relatively a beginner and understand that I might have some misconceptions.
Any tips on how to be lighter on your feet and more explosive in kumite? I have my techniques down to a decent level, just need to work on being faster so they land in competition. Thanks.
I saw the Ross stream hosted by Morning Kumite and went down a big ass rabbit hole about the people Metokur hung with. One thing I couldnβt find was stuff about Kumite
Okay, iβm curious if anyone has thoughts on this. It was like watching Goldlewis bingo. Between back-front aerial typhoons, seemingly uninterruptible air to ground strings, back to back typhoon pressure, even being grabbed out of combos; i think there is some mix of these things in all of my Goldlewis losses as well. Could anything have been done differently? On a system level, shouldnβt he have been vulnerable for at least one stray moment? I assume there will probably be a postmortem unless thereβs some weird NDA.
I know the finals had some wacky stuff but I thought this dude played some amazing sets
curious to know what people think as this was one of the first """ major """ offline tournaments for this game
Hi all! What brand do you use for WKF kumite gloves and shin guards? I have Adidas but I don't like their shin guards because they limit my movements and kicks as they are too thick.
And who do you think is gonna win?
Coming up against a guy who is mainly a kicker/TKD guy in karate kumite. How can I combat this. I was thinking mainly closing the distance and sweeping but he may try to keep me at range with his kicks. Any tips on how to fight this? Thanks.
Should all Dojos who compete in WKF Shiai Kumite consider incorporating Karate Combat Jiyu Kumite into their training curriculum? Why or why not?
My reasoning behind this question: I believe that Karate Combat intends on WKF competition to be their main source of athletes for professional competition. I feel you can find evidence of this even by the rules which are basically WKF Rules that are just full contact and continuous. I believe this is why originally the no short hook rule existed (since ridgehands are allowed in WKF, so ridge hands and long hooks were allowed in Karate Combat). Though now they change the rules due to fan input to allow short hooks and uppercuts. But still the limited clinching is like WKF. The striking only from a standing (now also includes knee on belly) position is the same as WKF. Even the calf kick only rule that confuses Kyokushin practictioners is like how in the old days of point fighting people would "sweep" but it was actually a calf kick. Then finally WKF Olympic Gold Medalist are offered 6 figure contracts starting pay. Which there's nothing wrong with this model, since it's one of the biggest and well recognized organization for Karate Athletes with very limited professional cross over to other combat sports. So it's the perfect pipeline for Karate Combat if it wants to have a sustainable inflow of high level athletes. My point with this is that since this is the main pipeline for athletes, should Dojos who compete in WKF Tournaments start incorporating the Karate Combat Ruleset into their Jiyu Kumite practice? This way these athletes will have plenty of experience with this specific ruleset should they desire to compete professionally one day. Or do you think these Dojos should just incorporate only the Traditional Jiyu Kumite practices of their style (if they incorporate it all)?

In the two games before this Sakuras EX tatsu VT activation was used frequently. As soon as RobTV points out why Brian F is neutral jumping ChrisCCH is using another activation method. Ideally players should not be influenced by what commentators have to say to the match. What do you guys think?
In sparring and competition I keep getting backed up and stepping out of the mat and when I donβt I move forward straight into a punch or a side kick. My instructor keeps telling me to break off at angles but Iβm struggling with this. Should I just go on the front foot and try and back the other person up? Any help on this would be appreciated.

I for one think yes if only marginally. Forms teach you great muscle memory, less thinking about what to do and more auto pilot. What's your thoughts?

LCQ Result : >!Both JDCR and Infested managed to qualified into the main tournament!<
I cant remember any other time in naruto nor boruto where he used the "uses nature energy to increase the range of his taijutsu"
like, why even introduce this if they'll never use it again?
In kumites is it okay to put power behind your punches and kicks its point based yes i know that but is it okay to put power behind strikes and should you do it?
AΓͺ, turma. AlguΓ©m anima?
That fucking bs mortal kombat impression voice is annoying af and I think the arena looks stupid. I hate whenever I have to fight in it, so much so that I lose 90+% of my matches in that arena when I'm otherwise a pretty decent player. I have it set to ufc venues only but apparently the kumite is a ufc venue???! Is there anything I can do to avoid it, beyond quitting the match which I don't wanna Do?
