I'm gonna be honest here, I'm fine with Speed. I think he is an alright character and I have no other complaints about him

You're still here aren't you? *sighs* Alright, you got me. I'm gonna cut the act. Let's just do this. However, what I said about is Speed partially true. I think he is a fine character. He usually doesn't rub me the wrong way and I think he fits in with the rest of the squad quite well. Though, that doesn't mean I have a few nitpicks on Speed but will get to that later.
So why the heck am doing this rant if I don't have any complaints about him? Though since I want to start of positively and not worrying about a certain RegiSylveon having my head on the the chopping block. I'm gonna talk about the good stuff about Speed. As I said before, Speed fits pretty well with the rest of the cast. The typical anime protagonist role. It may seem pretty boring to most people but I'm fine with that archetype as long as they do something interesting with their character or have flaws/fears that make them not perfect. And Speed definitely has the latter. Other than having a thick skull for not noticing girls having a crush on him. Speed normally keeps his thoughts to himself and he fears losing his own sense of self. In my opinion these flaws are what made Speed interesting in the first place... well more interesting than a certain Glaceon that got crammed in the story in the last minute but we should move on from that. Now I could gush about how I liked the ending scene with Speed and Black in Special Chapter 10. But unfortunately.. this is not the right post to do so. You guys want to me to rave about my nitpicks, you guys want me to rant about a character in a children's webcomic. So I give you just that. Hey! So I'm somewhat of an Intermediate player, been playing competitively for about 6 months or so, and I've recently been playing around with Jolteon VMAX a lot.
I've heard a lot of YouTubers say that the Leafeon match up is super easy if you're playing Jolteon, but for some reason I actually find it quite hard, and always lose when I come against it on the ladder. People say the reason the match up is easy is because Jolteon has free retreat so grass knot doesn't do much damage, but in all the matchups I've played, the Leafeon player just uses Max Leaf instead, which actually derails me significantly, because not only does it two hit KO my Jolteon, but the 30 damage healing every turn makes the Leafeon a 4 or even 5 hit KO.
Is there something I could be doing wrong? Or are there any tips for how I could be playing this matchup so it doesn't seem so hard?
As a side note, I'm also finding that Jolteon somehow always seems super slow to set up, having come from playing a bunch of Suicune V. There are so many games where I just lose because I couldn't get down Sobble's or Jolteon V's
Any advice or help would be appreciated!
