Greater evidence for an Anti de Sitter Universe

If the physical community is to be believed, Anti de Sitter (AdS) space-times provide no possibility to explain cosmological observations. This is usually explained by the contrast between the negative cosmological constant in AdS space-times and a positive cosmological constant which is necessary for the observed accelerated expansion of the universe.

However, if we allow a fifth dimension, then Einstein’s equation can realize a five dimensional cosmological constant Lambda_5<0 and a four dimensional cosmological constant Lambda>0 on hypersurfaces where Friedmann's equations live (cf. Brane world cosmology).

Since Friedmann’s equations are the basis of the standard model of cosmology, fine-tuning of the model parameter for the epochs after nucleosynthesis leads to the standard model of cosmology. The unknown mechanism to explain the values of the fine-tuned parameter makes this AdS model more problematic than the standard de Sitter model.

A second disadvantage becomes visible when AdS space-times are examined a little more closely.

A five dimensional asymptotically AdS space-time (the bulk) solves Einstein’s equation with a negative cosmological constant and can be expressed asymptotically such that the boundary is reached in the limit r -> 0. The hypersurfaces with r>0 are called brane and can labeled by their coordinate r. The boundary is important for the duality between AdS space-times and conformal field theories (CFT). For example, the bulk space-time can be holographically reconstructed form the boundary data. The problem with the above AdS cosmology model is that the gravitational action and therefore the energy-momentum tensor diverges at the boundary.

In a recent work, I have used a renormalised action by subtracting the divergent terms. Then the renormalised and therefore finite energy-momentum tensor wa

Black Magik, Brujeria and Energetic Pathogens.

πŸ™ Branching out from my post yesterday...Thanks to everyone who commented or contacted me. This community really has some Gems.

As many may know we use Ayurvedic medicine as the preparatory Tool for an Ayahuasca ceremony; this has many benefits but one huge one is that it solidifies or cleanses our Auric field and gives strength to the body and Mind by increasing our Oja's or life essence.

A blessing or a curse? Either way, here are some more words with regards to Retreats, Black magik and Energetic pathogens. I don't spend much time on social media and when im free enough to do so this is what I do- so here's everything I can say with regards to these topics. This is from my experience or information I have acquired from teachers and plants diets. Ayahuasca is an amazing tool to open up to the universal knowledge and healing the plants have to offer thus she also opens up the energetic body so some things need to be understood or acknowledged.

》Glimpse of the underworld/Brujeriaγ€Š

Please read with an open mind given the complexity of this medicine. Unfortunately I had the 'privilege' to know this side of the practice.

I just wanted to share my experience with regards to intrusions and downright harm that may not be just your 'shadow-work'.Β  πŸ˜”

The universal Darkness is necessary as it gives Life to Light but unfortunately the New Age perspective doesn't wish or have the capacity to take into account the use of high level witchcraft, entity possession, demonic exchange, rites and ritualistic invocations utilized to fulfill the will of many shamans who align themselves and use (sometimes unbeknown even to them) these energies for far more than merely giving shade to the light.

These people who claim to be healers (often narcissistic) create relationships with these beings in the name of power and ego and what's worse is they initiate lost wounded healers who assume they're being lead down the path of Truth only to find (sometimes only by sheer 'luck') that their teachers are only out to energetically drain attendees and weave them into a web of 'evil' during ceremonies. (Viroti's etc)

(This was also quite common with the 60's GURU culture)

It's very common that once they find a pushback from the community they then push the blame back onto the participants shadow nature to nullify and remove all responsibility.

This is an unfortunate thing in the Ayahuasca circles and this is not our 'shadow' but sometimes a well rehearsed use of

[Detailed] My experience with Yandere Girlfriends

Greetings everyone!

I’m a French 22 years old male and I wanted to share with you my experience with girls that exhibit yandere tendencies, describe their portrait, and how it is in everyday life. I’ll try to be as objective as possible, looking at the pros and cons of this kind of relationships.

I wouldn’t be able to say why, but I recently realized that I particularly tend to attract yandere-ish girls. In fact, of the four girlfriends I've had in my life, three of them largely fit into this archetype.

I must say that I was not particularly attracted to yanderes to begin with, I’m aware that most people starts to develop a great attraction for them because of their sentimental loneliness. But in my case, I started to develop some affection to them only after my second relationship. I don't have a great fetish for them like some people do, but I have to admit that some of them can be very enjoyable to date even if it is not always easy.

I will therefore detail each of these relationships chronologically. This will be a long post, I will try to be both exhaustive and concise at best. I should point out that all these relationships started online, but all had an IRL dimension afterwards. I don't consider a purely virtual relationship to be enough to consider myself in a relationship, I need to have a date in real life to make things more formal.

These relationships have mainly taken place in the last four years, although I have known the first girl for about seven years.

Well, let's get started then!

I wish you a good reading.

- First girlfriend:
She is by far the most blatant yandere of the group, to the point where it could be actually kind of dangerous. It is a bit the archetype of the twisted chick who loves blades a bit too much and like being edgy for the sake of it. She is the youngest of the girls and the one I have the biggest gap with; she is two and a half years younger than me. She currently have 20.

I met her in 2014 on Skype through a friend of a friend. We became close pretty quickly, and feelings of love were growing. At first, everything was going well. She was very sweet, affectionate and loving.

But as time went on, she became more and more clingy. She started to want to spend all our time together, whether it was IVL or IRL, refused to let me spend time with other friends, forcing me to stay with her all the time that was available for both of us, even asking me to stay up all night so that she could be with me

A Confucian Conception of Critical Thinking - Charlene Tan, The University of Hong Kong

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/311866936_A_Confucian_Conception_of_C

A Confucian Conception of Critical Thinking

CHARLENE TAN

ABSTRACT

This article proposes a Confucian conception of critical thinking by focussing on the
notion of judgement. It is argued that the attainment of the Confucian ideal of li
(normative behaviours) necessitates and promotes critical thinking in at least two
ways. First, the observance of li requires the individual to exercise judgement by
applying the generalised knowledge, norms and procedures in dao (Way) to particular
action-situations insightfully and flexibly. Secondly, the individual’s judgement, to
qualify as an instance of li, should be underpinned and motivated by the ethical quality
of ren (humanity) that testifies to one’s moral character. Two educational implications
arising from a Confucian conception of critical thinking are highlighted. First, the
Confucian interpretation presented in this essay challenges the perception that critical
thinking is absent from or culturally incompatible with Chinese traditions. Secondly,
such a conception advocates a view of critical thinking as judgement that is action-
oriented, spiritual-ethical and interpersonal.

INTRODUCTION

Current conceptions of critical thinking are primarily derived from Anglo-European
histories, traditions, writings, paradigms and experiences. A number of scholars have
maintained that critical thinking in academic and popular discourses originated from
Greek and Enlightenment philosophies and presuppositions (e.g. Griffin, 1988;
Gardner, 1989; Burbules, 1995; Barnett, 1997; Thayer-Bacon, 2000; Cuypers, 2004).
A representative view is the observation by Gardner (1989) that β€˜we in the West
esteem too narrow a band of capacitiesβ€”a certain form of logical-rational thought,
which grew out of the Greco-Roman heritage (shades of Meno!) and has dominated
our schooling and dictated the form and content of our standardised tests’ (p. 110).
This state of affairs has contributed to a perception that critical thinking is a Western
product and is concomitantly absent from, marginalised in and/or culturally
incompat

Theoretical Computer Science Requirement for Masters degree

Hi everyone, sorry for being the 1000th person to ask a question like this, but I, like many, am unsure if I meet TU Berlin's theoretical computer science requirement for admission to the master's degree in Computer Science. I'm hoping someone who has gotten into the program might have an idea.

For background, I'm from the US and my degree was in Software Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics. I finished my bachelor's in 2019 and ha been working since, now I want to go back for my masters.

I have one class that I'm sure will count - Introduction to Grammars. It covered finite automata, turning machines, computability, formal languages, that kind of stuff.

I know Data Structures, Discrete Math, and Digital Logic won't count because they are explicitly called out on the program's website as not counting.

Classes I've taken that I'm wondering if will count:

  1. Compiler Methods - Basic concepts of compiler design and operation. Topics include lexical and syntactical analysis, parsing, translation, data flow analysis and code generation, and implementation of a small compiler.
  2. Concepts of Programming Languages - Study of principles and fundamental concepts characterizing high-level programming languages, including history and survey of programming paradigms, syntax and semantic rules, data types, control flow and data abstraction.
  3. Introduction to Logic - (Philosophy department) This course prepares students to critique and assess arguments according to the rules of logic. Students will learn formal and informal methods for assessing deductive, inductive, abductive arguments.
  4. Machine Learning - (Math department) An introduction to machine learning with an emphasis on statistical theory. Supervised (discriminative and generative models) and unsupervised learning for categorical and numerical outcomes. Model selection and assessment. Modeling techniques covered include multiple linear regression, logistic regression, linear and quadratic discriminant analysis, k-nearest neighbors, shrinkage methods, additive models, tree-based methods, support vector machines, neural networks and ensemble learning. Dimension reduction techniques for dealing with high dimensional data. Applications will be based on clean β€œtextbook” datasets as well as some messier β€œreal” datasets.
  5. Linear Algebra - (Math department) The study of vectors and matrices in Euclidean space, their geometric interpretations and application to systems of equations. Includes lin

Theoretical Computer Science Subjects.

Hey, I will be applying for summer 2022 at TU Berlin for their masters in computer science course. Just wanna know which of these subjects qualify as Theoretical comp sc subjects:

  1. Theory of Computation: This course will focus on the inherent capabilities and limitations of mathematical models of computation, and their relationships with formal languages. Rigorous arguments and proofs of correctness will be emphasized. Particular topics to be covered include: β€’ Finite automata, regular languages, regular grammars β€’ Deterministic and nondeterministic automata β€’ Context free grammars, languages, pushdown-automata β€’ Turing machines, Church's thesis, undecidable problems β€’ NP completeness

  2. Machine Learning: Machine Learning is concerned with computer programs that automatically improve their performance through experience. Topics such as Bayesian networks, decision tree learning, support vector machines, statistical learning methods, unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning would be discussed in this course. Theoretical concepts such as inductive bias, the PAC (probably approximately correct) learning framework, Bayesian learning methods and margin-based learning would be discussed in the course.

  3. AI: In this course, we will study the most fundamental knowledge for understanding AI. We will introduce some basic search algorithms for problem solving; knowledge representation and reasoning; pattern recognition; fuzzy logic; neural networks and genetic algorithms. The later three form synergistically Soft Computing which happens to be an important component of AI.

  4. Algebra and differential equations: * Differential equations: Differential equations of first order: Variables separable form or reducible to Variables separable form of Differential Equations, Exact Differential Equations, Linear Differential equations of first order, Ordinary Linear Differential Equation of higher order with constant coefficients. Homogeneous and Nonhomogeneous equations; Methods of variation of Parameters and undetermined coefficients; Euler’s Equations.

  • Laplace transforms, inverse transforms, transforms of derivatives and integrals, unit function, step functions, convolution of functions, partial fractions, applications to the solution of ordinary differential equations and system of differential equations.
  • Sets, Algebra of sets; Binary operation on a set. Groups, Subgroups, Rings and Fields. (Only definitions and some important properties n
