A list of puns related to "Inauthentic"
Granted I have only read about 2.5 chapters, but I already have a critical opinion about this book and that's why I stopped reading it a few days ago.
Does the book get better in the next chapters or is it actually promoting being fake?
Do you find most people aren't truly authentic? Do you ever think about it? Do you try to be this way or does it depend on your surroundings? How do you handle people who are inauthentic but refuse to admit it/confront it? Does it even cross your mind or do you think it's pointless to worry about it?
I'm just now realizing that I've never had a true long-term relationship or friendship until now. My husband was my first serious boyfriend, and now that we've been together for over 7 years, he's the first person to really really know me.
And now I realize why I have never had friends or boyfriends for that long... It's because I'm so scared for anyone to really know me. I do actually have friends that are long-term, but they have all been long-distance friends for the majority of our friendship. I have the ability to only present myself to them in a way that I want them to see me. My husband now sees this. And he pointed it out to me. And it's crushing.
Any other good friends I have had tend to come and go within a few years, and I am just now realizing that I consciously try to get rid of friends that get too close. Now that I have my husband around the time, I hate that he can see the worst of me. I want to hide anything bad from him. But I can't!
I started a steep downward spiral into depression a few years into our marriage, and I think I'm starting to realize part of the reason why. I think I was unconsciously realizing that I can't hide myself from him. He could see my phoniness and he did not like it.
Where do I go from here? I want to make new friends (in the area I live) and I want to be myself around them. And I want to be comfortable being myself with my husband. I don't even know if I know who I am.

Everyone I know thinks Disneyland is the perfect place for children and adults to experience innocence, wonder and joy. I disagree. I have no interest in Disney movies, especially the sanitized retelling of fairy tales. Disneyland is crowded, with long lines, and very expensive. I hate it!
I know the foodies would cringe and it's like admitting I love McDonalds burgers, but I LOVE the salsa served in inauthentic Mexican restaurants like El Charro (Latham) and La Fiesta (Albany). I would love to find a source for this salsa -- it seems like something they would buy by the gallon. Any suggestions?
Hi. One of the important ideas in existential philosophy is authenticity. As far as i understand being authentic asks an individual to determine their own destiny, urging people to become aware of their freedom to choose their own path but need not join that of others.Β I believe one of the many ways people can choose to give meaning is to eliminate all suffering in their life. Suicide is a proven way to achieve this. So, i was wondering if an individual decides to commit suicide, based on his own beliefs, how is he not authentic?
If on the other hand, suicide is considered an authentic response to an absurd life, why is it not a mainstream position?
I donβt know if Iβm an edgy teenage girl or if Iβm legitimately onto a good point . But love seems useless to me and inauthentic. Like your close friends only care about you when you Have something to offer them. βWe love youβ as long as youβre funny , as long as youβre doing this or doing that or saying this or saying that . Or with parents they love you directly on what your grades are . Like I know parents love yourβunconditionallyβ and they do but itβs complicated . Like theyβll work night shifts because they care about me but also hit me and are cruel and mean. With romantic love , The divorce rate is 50%. The remaining couples donβt look happy and my parents hate each other . And romantic love is the most worthless conditional thing in existence . Boys will only Love you for your looks , or what you Can offer them . Itβs how they are . So Iβm not fond of them either . I guess my little sister, though sheβs 13. I like her sure, but Iβm 17 and donβt really know how to intersect with a 13 year old kid . I guess thatβs the closest human thing to love. I do love my sister and she loves me , so thereβs that . Iβm grateful for that . Thatβs why I always put myself first , the realization that love is this fragile , weak , useless conditional thing for the most part is REALLY bothering me. Its crazy how people then shame young or wanting to get rich one day and own a bunch of pets . Because only pets can actually offer you legitimate love. Honestly I know Iβm right and I donβt know how to get over how right I am on this . Like it breaks my heart but gosh itβs true .
Hey all,
I'm new to Dayton as of this past weekend. One thing I always struggle with in new places is finding the best Chinese takeout/delivery option. It's really a comfort food for me and I hate getting food somewhere and finding out it's not good. Do y'all have any recommendations for Chinese takeout/delivery? I'm on the edge of Moraine/Miamisburg (I think, I'm down the hill from the mall and my address says Dayton but I'm no where near the city proper) but I'm willing to drive or pay awful delivery fees for the best options!
Thanks in advance!
I recently sold a north face jacket and the buyer is claiming it is inauthentic. The buyer claims the fleece is too thick. Poshmark asked for a receipt to prove authenticity but I bought the jacket 15 years ago. Without the receipt, is there any way Posh will side with me? Iβm worried that Iβm getting scammed and wonβt receive my jacket back if returned.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! Get that playlist queued up and check out these "Flashback" inauthentic (two colorways in one week, woot woot)! Made while jamming out to GTA Vice City playlist, was I born in the wrong decade? I was going for a holographic look for the shoes but due to inexperience they ended up a translucent and sparkly silver instead. Hopefully next time it will be a success lol. Like always thanks for viewing and much love <3

I don't know what it is about me, but I'm very averse to any kind of strings that sound tinny, airy, hollow, or grating. To me, the lack of richness to the sound makes it seem more synth-like, even when I'm using a really good library (a la Spitfire, Realitone, etc). Even when I played viola, I was extremely bothered by the grating sound of the bow on the strings, and it didn't sound like the beautiful, deeply rich viola I've heard in recordings. So what are people doing to make their strings sound lovely and deep? Is that just difference between a room-recorded ensemble patch vs. a solo patch? Is there a particular library I might like better? Is there some processing, like EQ or other plugins I can be using to help things out?
I've looked at East West, 8dio, Cinematic Strings, Metropolis Ark, and the entire Spitfire catalogue... they all sound good to my ear, but I'm still not hearing the same rich and dynamic strings I hear when I listen to recordings, even ones that may not have used live players. How best to emulate the sound of a live orchestra when it comes to the overall timbre and tone?
As a second gen Chinese American myself, I am really tired of people being a complete snob over authenticity to the point that they distort the history and culture behind Chinese cuisine.
I've had enough of people trashing American Chinese food as "not the real thing" or even worse, "Chinese food dumbed down for American people" (like WTF?!)
While I don't deny that Chinese food in America is different from Chinese food on the mainland, that doesn't make it any less worthy. Sure, it has been changed to some extent to suit local palates, but that's pretty much the same thing with Chinese food in the diaspora in general. There is also Indonesian Chinese, Filipino Chinese, Singaporean Chinese, and even Peruvian Chinese food-yet nobody calls these variants as "fake" or "inauthentic".
Moreover, people had to make adaptations to the cuisine anyways in the new land due to the lack of available ingredients that they usually had back home. No Chinese broccoli? Use western broccoli instead.
One has to remember that Chinese cuisine is by no means a monolith- it's pretty diverse with a lot of regional variations-hence Beijing cuisine is different from Shanghai cuisine and Cantonese cuisine. A lot of early Chinese immigrants to the US were from the Guangdong province, hence American Chinese food is heavily based on the cuisine from that area (albeit still a limited representation). This is the reason why later immigrants from other parts of China might find American Chinese cuisine to be strange and completely foreign.
I always have to chuckle whenever someone tries hard to demonstrate what "authentic" and "inauthentic" Chinese food is by comparing a Chinese takeout dish with Cantonese origins (ie, chow mein or orange chicken) to a dish from another region in China, which is essentially comparing apples to oranges. A good example would be this Buzzfeed video in which the host claims to try "authentic" sweet and sour pork for the first time, when in reality the version that she tried is no less "authentic" than the one she is used to. Only difference is that the so-called "authentic" version is another regional variation, just like the Cantonese-style sweet and sour pork many are familiar with.
While I do appreciate people willing to take a deeper look into Chinese cuisine beyond the menu at the local takeout, there's no need to be an utter snob about it. Food is food, peeps. It's high time that we recognize American Chinese

Ok, I appreciate that folks are having a hard time and strugglingβpandemic driven isolation, job loss or insecurity, etc, all of it is very real and I empathize with anyone who is struggling with mental health or just having a difficult time.
What I side eye the F out of are these Instagram posts of a pic of someone crying with full sad face. Usually accompanying a long heartfelt message about what led them to this point, but you can literally make the same point without these photos of the cry-face.
Iβm not saying itβs not ok to cry, but whatβs weird AF to me is that instead of seeking self care, or emotional support from a loved one, these people literally thought βthis is going to be so good for my instaβ and then chose to grab their phone and take a freaking picture of them in full sad face cryingβas if that brings more authenticity to their pain.
In fact, at least for me, itβs a complete reversal of that and I feel like you are extremely inauthentic for posting it to your social media feed to legitimize your sadness for public consumption. Stop it, influencers.
I know this is not the same group, but seriously, AITA here?
Hey askTO,
Where is the absolute BEST westernized Chinese Food? (Not Mandarin plz)
I know where to get really good legitimate Chinese food, but I want the best of the worst this time around.
So who's got the best lemon chicken? General tso? Chicken balls? Crispy beef? Who's got the highest tiered FAKE Chinese food?
Let me know, this will be my Christmas feast.
I am a passionate world traveler and would like to consider myself a purist, but in most cases I have found the domestic versions of ethnic cuisines far superior to their ethnic counterparts.
I think this goes well beyond βwhat weβre used toβ and simple palate adjustments. I think it has more to do with resources and quality. Yes, there is a lot of shit quality processed food in America, but we also have infinite resources being the wealthiest nation in the world. It follows that anyone with the means would make their way here from these foreign nations, bringing with them their cultural traditions.
I used to get so excited to try the βauthenticβ versions of the dishes I have come to love in a sort of elitist foodie gatekeeper mentality. I have found the majority of them to be extremely disappointing and often bad.
Examples:
Indian food - the rich, creamy, curry-heavy Punjabi dishes we enjoy in the West did not originate in India, but in the UK. Southern Indian cuisine is much leaner and more vegetarian based, and while there is still plenty of good food to be found all over the country the real prize is what we get in most stateside Indian restaurants.
Chinese food - I recently discovered a higher end Chinese restaurant near me has a secret βChineseβ menu of more authentic dishes. I tried a few, not very palatable at all. Weird fish based dishes and far less flavor/spice on this menu.
Mexican - this one is debatable, authentic Mexican street tacos and entrees are pretty outstanding in their own right. That being said, Tex-Mex is what I always come back to, it is true comfort food.
Italian - similar to Indian, the rich and creamy sauces found in the states are scant in Tuscany. Alfredo is very thin and oily, not as flavorful and robust as in the US. This is a toss up, however as plenty of Italian dishes made in Italy are far superior, mostly due to the climate and freshness of the ingredients as well as the rich culinary traditions.
What do you think?
Hey! Iβve just started camming on chaturbate this week and since Iβm from South America i was using #οΈβ£ Latina for my room subject. Itβs a good #οΈβ£ too. But apparently, I donβt βlook latina enoughβ so I had quite a few viewers (seriously) calling me fake. I confess that this made me quite sad and frustrated. Because I actually am Latina, born and raised in Latin America (picture me being Latina angry right now). So after being called out on my authenticity, I decided to be more βauthenticβ and use #οΈβ£ European instead and just played along. My room got immediately busier and I got a lot more tips. It worked, but I feel kinda bad for it doing it because it feels like Iβm faking. Whatβs re your feelings on it?
I got my seller account last week, and then it got Deactivated stating that I have inauthentic product listed. I got some generic products imported from China. And I had listed it under other seller's brand, which I'm not supposed to do, and I was unaware of it. Now, I have removed those products and I have submitted an authorization letter from my supplier. But then Amazon is still not accepting my apeal. They also asking for invoice, I'm missing some of my invoice.
Can anyone help me to solve this and reactivate my account?
I've browsed this sub a long time across various accounts and lately it feels like the posts are not as geared towards fellow Unity Devs, but rather for game consumers. It has been less, "Check out this cool thing I made with unity, and here's how I did it," and more, "Have you ever wished Pigs Could Fly? Steam wishlist link in description."
Your marketing-speak only turns us off. This is not the place to market your game. We are not your audience. We might think a game or mechanic looks interesting or fun from a design/development perspective, but you're more likely to inspire someone here to try to recreate it themselves than inspire a sale.
And it shows in the up votes. I see these kind of posts and they have single digit upvotes with 1 comment that's a link to wishlist or an app store. And if you ever try to engage with them because what they're showing looks cool, you can tell they are in PR mode and won't have anything interesting to say.
Anyway. I mainly wanted to vent and see if others noticed this as well. There's still a lot of good content here and browsing this sub helps me get back into game dev mode when I'm procrastinating.
Granted I have only read about 2.5 chapters, but I already have a critical opinion about this book and that's why I stopped reading it a few days ago.
