The road which goes through symbi, pavilion and University road is very congested and it took me 1.5 hr to reach jagtap dairy.... Please suggest alternate routes even if they are longer.. all I want is not too much congestion.
Is the route through Chandni Chowk and the Mumbai Bangalore highway equally congested? Is it too congested till Chandni Chowk?
I'm too frustrated.. like what the fuck is this traffic
Like all of y'all, I was obsessed with prestige thinking it would solve all of my problems; I actually ended up getting into Rice (tbh not great for career prospects vs other t20s) and admitted off WL to UPenn but I couldn't afford to attend either, and I was CRUSHED. I attended a very low ranked college (like 150s); flash forwards a few years and I'm currently working in Germany in CV Surgery Research (Fulbright) and will attend a t30 med school in a few months. Honestly, I don't think I would have made it this far if I went to a prestigious uni. I'll detail my personal reasons for enjoying my "low-ranked" college experience, and then a couple tips and paths to "high-paying careers" I've seen colleagues achieve.
6 Figure Career Examples:
CS Careers (CS major):
Year 1: Start up your github, work with a professor to make projects which have publishable elements. I had a friend who made databases and dashboards for public health research. Easily accomplished in 1-1.5 semesters. Work a unpaid/below market internship (same friend leveraged the work into a devops internship with our state's PUH department).
Year 2: Start studying data structures/algorithms hard, start grinding leetcode, buff up your github projects but make sure they are being utilized by someone somewhere willing
... keep reading on reddit β‘We already have enough money set aside for college for our 4 young kids (10+ years away from college). My in laws have come forward that they want to pay a large portion of kids college, and want to begin a fund for them. They are not as well off as us, and Iβm sure putting this money towards our kids would be taking it away from somewhere else they can use it. They genuinely want to do it, and their parents did the same and they are big on keeping with traditions. They also have several other grandkids Iβm assuming theyβll be doing the same thing.
I donβt want to take this money, and I donβt feel right letting them do it, but Do I just let them do it because itβs important to them?
They donβt know specifics of our financial situation, but Iβm sure they have a good idea that we could easily afford college.
I am a medical marijuana patient in IL quad cities area and I am growing my own. Is it possible to give away free marijuana to someone who would benefit from it like a cancer patient (my mom died of cancer in 2017 and Iβd like to do this in her name) but I also donβt want to lose my license doing anything.
My younger sister and her husband recently got divorced. Sadly for my nephew neither of them are doing great in life. My sister was living in a condemned house and it got reported to DCFS. They asked her to place the child with someone else since they wouldn't allow my nephew to live there. My parents currently have my nephew but my ex brother in law has a one bedroom apartment. My parents are under the impression the child cannot live with him fulltime because there is only one bedroom. Whats strange is that he gets the child three days a week right now. So its strange they would let the kid live there three days a week but not seven days a week. It seems like to me if they took the couch and put the child in the bedroom that would satisfy any issues.

As Charles Dickens once wrote, would this "decrease the surplus population?"
My grandmother passed away in AZ, but lived most of her life in IL and most of her children live there. The details of the will, as understood by her children, were that all of the remaining assets were to be split between them equally. My sister tells me that the last she heard, the will also specified that the grandchildren were to receive $10k each, although this is irrelevant because none of us are depending on a 10k "windfall" and the outcome of the estate is highly suspect.
My aunt, we'll call her "D," has a long history of harvesting estates. She has had 3 husbands that have passed away, and has denied her surviving spouse's children *anything* from the estate. Whether it had any monetary value or not, she refused it. Her first husband, who I grew up knowing as my loving uncle Ed (and whom I served as a pallbearer for), whose children were not related by blood, but were nevertheless my very close cousins...she stole their property that happened to be stored in their conjoined home. She has done this with her 2 subsequent husbands, that passed away within 2 years of marriage (natural causes, I want to be clear on that). But still, things that the children wanted, that were only of sentimental value, were denied because D wanted to sell them and keep the money instead.
Now, to the current issue. The family matriarch passed away. Everyone in the family warned my grandmother that this would be an issue, but my grandmother decided that D was the oldest, and therefore she should be the executor of the estate. They showed her plentiful evidence of how shady D was in dealing with her multiple husbands' estates, but my grandmother was insistent. My grandparents weren't wealthy, but they were extremely comfortable. They were of the generation that had pensions, as well as retirement accounts, and only had to worry about volunteer positions in their retirement years. Again, very comfortable.
My grandfather passed away about 13 years ago, but my grandmother passed away this summer. We all expected some fuckery in the way of the estate, but not to the extent we just realized. One aunt received a check from the estate for $2.40, one received a check for $0.80, and my mother received a check for $0.01. There are 6 children, and extrapolating, there was certainly more than $10 to my grandmother's name after probate.
How do we go about contesting this? Is there any way to prove this is bullshit, given that the executor has a long history of screwing the heirs
