A list of puns related to "Haunted Attraction"
Self explanatory haha. The Muppets Haunted Mansion special is now the third top trending title on Disney+ and I loved how it was a live letter to both classic Muppets and to iterations of the Haunted Mansion in all the theme parks (thereβs even references to Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris!).
So I just wanted to ask the sub what attractions would you like to see them do if Disney does another Muppets special?
Personally, Iβd love if they did Country Bear Jamboree, Dinosaur, or Fantasmic.
Edit: I canβt believe I forgot my babies: Living with the Land and Journey into Imagination with Figment! Those would be awesome!
Some of my favorites that come to mind are Haunt, Hell Fest, Houses October Built, It Chapter Two, and Final Destination 3. Anyone have some good suggestions?
i'm curious to know what people's opinions are on this.
recently in my state, a famous abandoned asylum was recently repurposed into a haunted attraction (eloise). i hadn't ever been through any haunt like that previously, so i went in actually pretty excited about it. i know that pennhurst operates the same and is fairly successful. i love haunted houses and attractions, and this was it's opening year, so i waited in line for 3 hours to get into this haunt.
at first i was really enjoying it, but the more it went on, and the more abandoned patient rooms we walked through, with abandoned furniture, old medical supplies, and decrepit dΓ©cor, the more uncomfortable i started to feel.
at one point, we went through what looked like an authentic morgue and autopsy room. the storage drawers were built right into the wall, along with a brick platform raised up for autopsies and drainage; i do not believe this could have been effectively faked. at this point, i was REALLY uncomfortable and was no longer enjoying it.
after this, we were ushered into the basement where, still feeling uncomfortable, i focused on just getting to the end and out. it was a mix of storage rooms, the boiler rooms, tunnels, and other maintenance type facilities.
the haunt itself was "good" and would have been a fun time had it not been done inside authentic hospital grounds. i actually thought the decorations, props and rooms were really well done, the actors really were doing great; if this had been in a random old factory or warehouse, i think it would have been a pretty good time.
the asylum has a questionable past and a long list of issues, including your typical abuse of patients that was so common in these large, state ran facilities. between 1910 and 1948, over 7,000 patients died within its walls and are now buried a crossed the street from the remaining building in a large "cemetery" with unmarked graves.
i honestly didn't expect myself to feel this way. i really love haunted houses and i've never been bothered by the typical "psychiatric patients going crazy" theme before. but i've only been to places where these haunts took place in old, large factories or buildings otherwise not used in any kind of official hospital ways. old retail buildings and the like.
i felt like it was almost violating and degrading to all the patients who were actually in these buildings, being abused and tortured, who died awful deaths that were riddled with mistreatment and questionable m
... keep reading on reddit β‘Not sure how many people here are into haunted attractions but my fiancee and I have made a tradition of going to a new one every year and Waldorf Estate was one of our favorites so far. I highly recommend it.
We actually discovered it by accident on a trip through the Poconos about a week or so after we watched the film for the first time. We just happened to drive passed it coincidentally.
Its in Lehighton, PA if anyone here is interested in visiting. Just figured I'd pass the info along as it was really cool seeing all the sets from the film (the inside still looked the same when we went). The movie itself adds an entire extra layer of creepiness to it as well (going down to the basement was pretty intense).
If anyone has any haunted attractions they'd like to recommend, I'm always interested in new ones! Preferably in the PA, NY, MD, DE area but I'm not afraid to travel further.
I'm trying to remember a horror movie where a they realize there is an actual serial killer on the loose at a haunted house attraction. I think the movie was released in the 2000s but I'm not sure. It's not Hell Fest for sure. Thank you so much!
edit: sorry for the typo in the title
edit: solved! Talon Falls
Now I wish I never found out why.
Third date goer here! I did a bit of Googling, but there were more than a few options and I genuinely don't know how to navigate it all. We originally planned to go to Six Flags Frontier City, but the recent reviews just weren't great, so I'm doing a last-minute change of plans.
As for the date and time, definitely tonight, I'm thinking 7:30 PM, perhaps 8:00 PM?
I also wanted to thank everyone last week for the recommendations! We ended up going to Barrios and it was great, followed by a short walk through downtown and Scissortail Park, before heading closer to home and to a local park where we stargazed from there. Needless to say, it was a fantastic second date!
Where I live, itβs quite popular and people pay $50+ USD to get scared at theme park haunted houses. People in general love the holiday of Halloween, even moreso than Christmas.
I'm sad to see they are not doing Terror Behind the Walls again this year. Instead they are doing some kind of lame Halloween themed beer garden. Someone had mentioned that there are some good haunted attractions in Bucks County though. Does anyone have any recommendations? I had a brutal month with working 2 jobs so just want to enjoy this weekend.
Appreciate any recommendations or even don't mind going within 45 min drive.
Thanks!
I'm a big fan of Haunted House attractions. I love the creativity and craftsmanship that's put into them, and was wondering what is the wildest, most elaborate haunted attraction you've been to within a few hours of this area?
We plan on going to the aquarium and imax and some caverns buy other than that we were gonna just wing it.
Update: We had a great time. Weather was gloomy but we didn't mind that. The ghost tour was fun. The aquarium and Ruby Falls were amazing. Would highly recommend Spare Time. Great food and fun atmosphere. Pucketts and Edleys was a bit disappointing. Two Ten Jack's was decent. Food was ok but the service was bad. They were too preoccupied with talking with one another while the guests wait with empty cups. We went a bit out of the way for Lost Sea Adventure. It was fun but not really worth the trip. But overall good experience (except for the traffic).
Especially for venues that still operated in year of 2020 when people fear catching COVID thus it was difficult to fill rooms with live actors while trying to social distance while dealing with the public.
It seems like thatβs when automation scares fill the gaps.
Apparently on some years animetronics were very popular in attractions while in other years even scream parks have few of them.
Going to Halloweekends this Saturday. What would be the single best haunted attraction for me to hit in the middle of all the rides?
Looking to find a spooky outing with some friends in the city (or up to an hour drive away). Interested in a haunted house or ghost tour type experience, but hard to determine if any of those listed are corny / super commercialized. We're a group of 30-somethings who want to get scared (not tortured like McKamey Manor), and maybe follow it up with a hay ride. Looking for personal recommendations!
I want to know if anyone works at, owns or has been to any haunted attractions that are known to have paranormal activity. I understand belief of the paranormal is hit or miss, but this is to strictly discuss any experiences working in a haunt that is.
I have been with Acres of Terror in Leonard, ND for several years and my fellow actors have reported sightings of apparitions and hearing strange sounds in the school house we use. Two weeks ago, we finally reopened the old part of the school that has been closed for several years due to safety concerns. That part is said to have the most activity, and customers have reported seeing and hearing things that are not part of our show.
I want to know your experiences with such and is it a factor in drawing customers to your show?
The killer captures a group of people and the bystanders in the haunted house believe its part of the act but in reality they are getting killed. I think it could have been from 2003 but I'm not sure.
Only ever been to Markoffβs. Wondering if any others are as good or worth a try.
I've been acting/scaring at one of the top "haunted houses" in the US for the past 7 yrs. About 1-2 times a year we get a group of HOH or deaf folks. Our current practice is, we grab a staff member to sign, explain the same safety/rules we so to everybody, but we also send someone ahead to let the actors know we have a deaf group.
What that means to our actors is always pay attention to see if they're motioning for help or just having a good scare like they paid for. There's no touching, as well - guest to actor or vice versa.
But we also adjust our scares to be visual, in the guest's range of vision and startling but always at arm's length (the last part is standard safety for our actors, no matter the guest's hearing, people punch).
Basically, I'm asking if it's condescending or offensive in any way that we let our actors know to shift the experience so we're not relying on sounds/dialog to scare you and shift our performances to a visual focus.
I've always got this niggling feeling in my conscience that says I'm giving assistance where none was asked for. But on the other hand, we just wanna give guests what they paid for.
I'm just an actor there, we're enthusiastically ADA compliment, and even one our best zombie actors is legally blind. Willingness to be better about any ADA isn't an issue with the owners by a long shot.
So, really, just asking. If you wanna be scared this Halloween season, what the best (safe and legal) way to create a fun scare for a deaf person without touching them or even getting within arm's distance?
*PS, we provide lazertag converted AR15 training weapons that have a CO2 cartridge that provides visceral kickback. I have no idea how it works in the real world, but that's there so hearing impaired people can tell they actually shooting and not being ripped off.
Already seen Haunt, The Houses October Built and Hell Fest. Iβve heard Hell House LLC is good but Iβve yet to see it. Are there any others I should add to my list with Halloween being just around the corner? Appreciate yall for your answers in advance!
