A list of puns related to "Hadash"
Basically i had to do aliyah before the age of 18 while in a boarding school because i had to go through some special treatments in the hospital. I had an israeli passport but it was made in the country i was from and i have never been to israel before i entered the boarding school. Do i still have the same rights as an oleh hadash when i turn 18? Or am i just a regular citizen?
Hi everyone, I am doing an documentary about making Alya, and need people that went/are/will go through this very particular process. People are doing it for various reasons, and that is the beauty of it. Also, while some had success story and it was everything they hoped for, for some others it was much more complicated, not what they expected, and not so much a walk in the park. Would love to hear your story, good or bad, and maybe interview you. Please PM me!
Like the title said, I am coming home tomorrow, I was going to buy some clothes and new running shoes, was thinking about maybe a cellphone, as mine is getting pretty old.. I was even thinking to buy some extra toiletries and crap too?
Also what is the deal with the corona hotel, I am coming from Turkey, a 'red country', and was wondering how long I am in the hotel for.. Also do I go there directly from the airport? will they wrap me in bubble and put me in a taxi or something? Hoping for any tips or advice!
Anywhere in the south of Israel Negev/Beer Sheba ... Or even Tel Aviv where I can go to watch NFL games? I know the late ones aren't watchable at bars or anything but outside of VPNs anyone here watch games somewhere?
This newly married couple who are close friends of ours made aliyah from Turkey in 2017 and within a year had a kid. The baby is about 18 months old now.
The wife in the couple was giving private art lessons and was going to ulpan, but since she had a kid, itβs been harder during the day to go out (especially since they donβt have family living in Israel to take care of the kid and, on just one income, itβs hard to arrange childcare).
They live in Ramat Aviv. Her native language is Turkish but I think sheβd be fine in a French-, English-, or Hebrew-speaking momsβ play group since sheβs at least conversational in all three languages. She found one that met once a week but I get the feeling she still feels very lonely as a new oleh since, obviously, most of her friends and family are still in Turkey and she doesnβt socialize face-to-face with many adults. Her impression is that these sorts of play groups are relatively rare in Israel because most (secular) parents return to work relatively quickly after maternity/paternity leave is up, and most kids are sent to Gan (sheβs planning on waiting until her son is 3), but I wonder if thatβs true.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how she could find more play groups in or around Ramat Aviv?
(mod note): this is a protected / restricted thread open only mainly to Israeli-Arabs. Palestinians with ties or Israeli Jews who vote Joint list are also welcome to comment. The purpose of these restrictiosn are to allow for an internal discussion that's still in public view related to political solutions. I will do my best to keep this thread clear of interruptions by people who can't or would never vote for candidates from the JL. So as to avoid having to judge content from rightful posters, Rule 5 (Sarcasm or cynicism) and Rule 6 (honest characterization) are waived for comments in this post.
This is meant to be a pure political thread. This post that will start being open now and will say open all through the elections (assuming they start by April). Anyone who would like to discuss support for Balad, Taal, Hadash or Raam candidates who they will be voting for and why. If Mansour Abbas stepping in is having any impact on your vote please exaplain how and why. If you support or oppose the boycott over the Nation State Law feel free to weigh in on that. Anyone supporting Ta'al going independent or not going independent from the JL, please feel free to weigh in. Etc... there is tons to discuss. Feel free to discuss reasons for your primary votes related to the I/P conflict or completely unrelated if you are voting JL in the general and your primary votes are driven for economic, cultural, social... reasons.
And with that I'll shut up and hopefully leave it to you all.
Mainly asking because the general approach I was taught is that we don't assume something is forbiddden. I know it's not the typical default stance of Orthodox Judaism (which, as far as I'm aware tends more toward hadash asur min HaTorah) - I'm just looking for terminology that may be more familiar to use during tbise times where I'm having a hashqafic discussion with someone.
Hi everyone, I will be making my Aliyah from Germany in July 2019 and I will probably (and hopefully) stay in Maagan Michael for the time being, before being drafted into Χ¦Χ"Χ. some info about me before asking big questions:
I'm 20 years old, 21 in January, born in the Ukraine and lived in Germany for about 13 years now, I planned on making aliyah at the age of 18, but decided against doing so since I felt I had a lack of maturity. Currently I'm in professional training as a commercial assistant specialized in languages, ending in June 2019 - about a month before the great day. Now to ask the big questions:
-what exactly is the thing about the 'absorption basket'? -what will be the first days like regarding paperwork and stuff? -are the education and degrees I got in Germany being recognized?
I will be very thankful if anyone replies to this, hope to see you guys back home!
agencies, job centers...any help is appreciate...
