Been listening to a lot of Buzzov•en lately, but sadly my favorite works from them either never never on streaming platforms (The Gospel According II) or got removed recently (Revelation: Sick Again)
I’ve heard the same sort of sound out of some Sourvein (particularly their self titled released) and EHG, but I’m wondering what other bands integrate that grimy southern sound with course vocals.
Hello! I've lately been listening to a lot of Griselda, Your Old Droog, and Mach-Hommy and I noticed that they have something on their beats that make it sound super vintage. Some examples of what I mean:
Currently, I usually just put some compression and EQ on my drums and my samples usually just EQ on my samples. Are there plugins or things to help me get an effect of grimy-ness like these beats?
As an NYC teen, I've been in the dead center of the shittiest possible social media political discourse for a while now, but what's happened over the past few days has definitely taken the cake as the most slimy and disgusting.
In response to all the pretty stupid but sorta well-meaning infographics about Palestinian liberation, upper east side zionist goons have entirely co-opted woke language, basically doing the whole schtick people did for black people last summer and asian people this winter but instead of addressing any actual problem they just talk about how scared anti-zionists make them feel and how their great grandparents died in the holocaust and they're worried its going to happen again, so we need to all post blue squares to our stories in solidarity to stop antisemititsm. They're even making up obviously fake stories about people running through midtown with pitchforks hunting for Jews, but since people having been deluded into thinking jewish people are like honorary POC or something you cant say anything about it or you're "invalidating their lived experience" or whatever bullshit. Its so fucking obvious that this is just the zionist pushback to the growing popularity of the realizing-isreal-fucking-sucks movement and its defeating so see how thoroughly they've hijacked social justice language and rhetoric.
(btw I'm very jewish so i can confirm that antisemitism isnt an issue at all dont worry)

I’m looking at getting a filthy and heavy-handed (but playable) distortion/filter unit. The SSF Triptych has caught my eye as has the 100 Grit, Plague Bearer, TRSHMSTR, and the 4MS noise swash.
As you can probably tell from that list, I’m having trouble deciding...Anyone here have one of those they can offer an opinion on? Or does anyone have suggestions for other grimy and gritty distortion/filter units?
UPDATE (6/7): Landed on getting a 2HP comb filter to pair with whatever distortion unit I get as I've found that comb/distortion combo heard in the SSF Triptych is pretty damn incredible.
Still haven't quite decided on the distortion unit, however. On the one hand, I'm loving the versatility of the Geiger Counter. It is a little too bit-crushy in a lot of modes, but still very interested...buuuut it's impossible to find one for sale? (Anyone selling?)
100 grit is also tempting; it seems crazy like the 4MS noise swash, but a lot more tameable.
Miasma is in a close third as well. I love the sound, but it just doesn't seem as playable or versatile as the previous two.
I like balancing my games so that my enemy NPCs and my character are all on par and play by the same rules. To this end, I like Ultimate Dodge Mod to give everyone dodges, Wildcat to give everyone burst injuries, and Engarde to give everyone new behaviors.
But I don't really have an SE alternative for Grimy Combat Patcher. Does anyone know mods that do the same thing?
Or can I just run the patcher for SSE cuz it's an xEdit script anyway?
My faves Austin restaurants are the ones that are kinda grimey, cheap, hit or miss, and kinda off the beaten path (but the interiors are beat to Hell). What are your fave drunk food, 3 A.M dives, places you'd in ATX?
Personally a huge fan of Boulevard Bar & Grill's burgers, Taqueria Arandas, etc. Waffle House gets a mention even though it's a chain. It's the exact amount of chaos I love to enjoy during my dining experience.
Also: ATX born and raised. RIP Tamale house #3, my faves restaurant ever. Cheap, dirty interior, always yelled at by the woman behind the counter, but some of the best comfort tex-mex in my life. Miss you to this day
What we are seeing here from EA is even more disgusting behavior than you my realize at face value. Here is a breakdown:
Shadow waiting this long to post a nothing statement about how the team is “looking into it.” is a calculated move. They’ve waited just enough time for everyone to have already wasted their entire HUT savings on the awful random gambling sets which now gives them the perfect opening to come and and look like the good guys...
So knowing full well that a large portion of players have nothing left, they will come out with “better” sets to build the card you actually want, you know, like what TOTY had day 1. Our GCs are gone, most likely turned into worthless tradeable 90s or even worse, UT 90s that will never be more than a syn plug.
The only way to complete these sets (which may be enticing) will be to step back into the casino and buy a bunch more packs to be able to make GCs since yours are now all gone from yesterday’s pathetic display.
I’m begging you to PLEASE not fall for it. This is our opportunity to really make a stand, let’s seize it and not let them get away with this.
