I'd like my fatherhood license please

A fake duolingo account made a post with a grammatical error. I corrected them, and here's the resulting joke

Anon- "duolingo is fluent in language, not grammar" Me- "languages require grammar... Czech mate"

My dad would say this when I was younger

Anytime he corrected one of my grammar mistakes he would say, "The reason I always correct your grammar is because my brother died because of bad grammar. I remember it as clear as day. I ran inside and yelled, 'Mom, billy fell in a good!'"

It took me forever to finally understand his joke.

Got revenge on my Dad.

So my Dad and I were on the highway, after travelling for a couple hours, he said that he was hungry. My response? "Hi hungry, I'm Samdaman222, but there's a Big Mack". Pointing to the truck that was just passing.

I was happy with the joke being a double whopper.

Edit: Grammar.

Friend's dad just dad-joked me.

I was riding home with a friend and his dad when we passed by a Mexican restaurant. As we pass it, I mention that I really like their quesodillas, and then he chimes in with "Oh, I could never eat a whole case, I could only eat an each-o-dilla."

Edit: proper grammar

Edit 2: Removed the grammar joke

My 100 year old Great Grandfather told me this one... It's from another time.

Imagine a Maine accent, as a kid on a farm in 1924.

> As kids, they walked up to their mother and ask
"Mom, Is pig's sold?"
Their mother yells at them to correct their grammar.
"PIGS ARE SOLD!"

Commence giggling and running away as their mother realizes what they tricked her into saying.

(The joke is to say the mothers line quickly and drop the "D" like 'ole time Mainers do)
I'll never forget this joke. It's the only one he ever told me.

What was funny in the 1920's is completely different I guess.

I made a dad joke.

First of all sorry for any spelling or grammar errors.

My friend had a bad pain in his right shoulder. He went to the female doctor who did all the things doctors do.

I waited him outside because I was driving, and I waited for a about 30 minutes.

Finally he was done and we were ready to go home. I asked him how it went and he said to me that the doctor is really nice and good looking and that she was all over him, checking the arm, shoulder and the back, joking that she wanted him.

And I jokingly said on english "She want's the D", he said yea dude and smiled and I continued "Diagnose".

"I don't know, can you?"
Me: Dad can I have Chips?
Dad: I don't know, can you?

Me: (Calling on the phone) Hi Dad, can I talk to Mom?
Dad: I don't know, can you?

Me: Dad, can you pass me the salt.
Dad: Yes, yes I can. (Continues eating his dinner, doesn't pass the salt)

I never really thought of this as a Dad joke, I always just thought my dad was being an a** or trying to teach me better grammar, but he always laughed when he said it so i guess this was his ongoing Dad Joke.

This went on and on to the point where I had to remove the word Can from my vocabulary.

Dadjoked my friend's sister yesterday...

NOTE: My friend, the same one from this post, has a sister who's only 6. She has not yet learned the ways of the world, and the fact that it contains me and my terrible jokes.

I stumble into the living room, clutching my stomach and groaning.

Friend: What's wrong with you?

Me: I don't know, but I think I have a serious case of updog.

Friend's Sister: What's updog?

I stand up straight, with a big smile on my face.

Me: Not much, how about you?

Friend: Oh, Christ.

EDIT: Formatting and grammar.

President Bush dad jokes his daughter (and the nation) during art gallery interview. [Video, @1:14]

Jenna Bush Hager interviews her dad (Bush 43) for an NBC special on the opening of his art exhibition at the Bush Presidential Library. About a minute in, he slips in a pretty good dad joke:

Jenna: Do these people know that you are painting them?

Bush: Sort of. There's no telling how these people are going to react. I think I told Tony [Blair] I was painting him and he sort of brushed it off.

Jenna: No 'art pun' intended.

Bush: That was definitely an art pun.
