To get over my dental phobia, what I did was read a lot and watch a lot of dental procedure/surgery videos, which helped out enormously.
This has also instilled a fascination and curiosity with dental science. Finding out teeth were full of tubes was really cool. I wanna know more!
No pun intended, but it's like pulling teeth getting the doctor who performed this on the phone to discuss the results and no new doctor will discuss it since they aren't the one who performed it.
I noticed some small white bumps on my gums above my front teeth. They took a sample from my midline, right, and left maxilla.

Current medications: edit: To treat breakthrough pain (prior to amputation and while in hospital) I would put used Fenta patches inside cheeks. Yeah I won't that anymore now that I was told it can cause mouth ulcers :( It helped me with the phantom pains but oh well I rather suffer some more phantoms then ruin my mouth. Sad that I don't get my pain managed with proper treatments and my guerilla pain treatment backfired. Well at least I didn't smoke the patches :|

If you rip it you can pause and take 8MP frame to take a closer look. Bone bit came lose after I nudged it with my tongue constantly haha, couldn't help it. I asked the doctor if the Fenta licking had anything to do with it and she said unlikely, she wasn't concerned with it, said there is no necrosis, and the swelling doesn't justify starting antibiotics. I asked if I need to stop smoking and she was against smoking to begin with, but told me that the amount I smoke is not the thing keeping the wound open, and since the nicotine brings me some pleasure she couldn't tell me to stop it because of the current issue, but strongly advised me to think about quitting for many other reasons. I did stop with the weed, been THC free for almost an entire week now :D
Backround info:I wore braces for about 2 years to fix teeth gaps and midline diastema. After that I got plastic retainer that I wore for 2 months. My orthodntist told me I can wear them now only at night so I did however, every time before I put them in my mouth I can see a small diastema between central incisor occur and I can feel mild pressure on my central incisors.
That's why I decided I want to get fixed retainer behind my central incisors. I went to a dentist today for a consultation and he told me he doesn't really want to put fixed retainers behind my teeth because of a mild deep bite and if he puts fixed retainer he will must put it highly like this: http://imgur.com/a/EqOqIzy
He says that it can irritate the gingiva and therefore it is risky to put a fixed retainer.
What do you think should I look for a second opinion or just stay with the plastic retainer?

I have recession areas on 22/27 outside and inside 24/25. There are gaps that get
food caught in them but I am usually pretty good about keeping them clean. This
jumped up from a year when I used a medium hardness toothbrush thinking it
would do a better job.
My current (new due to moving to a new state) dentist (Prosthodontist) wants to
put some bonding on the recession areas to protect the teeth below the crown. I
have no sensitivity there (yet). I am hesitant to do this since I don't have
sensitivity, and am hopeful that the gum will grow back with light sonicare use.
Should I go forward with the bonding recommendation or wait? Also, should I
consider a gingiva graft?

My general dentist is pushing me to put bonding over this surface to protect it, but I have a hunch this is just a temporary fix that will only make things worse down the road.
I've also heard that this recession could be the result of orthodontia moving the tooth outwards where the gum won't cover it adequately due to bone location.
What should I do? Thanks for any help!
So I am confused and don't know if i should go to the dentist with it, but my gums(at 7,8,9) teeth are some painful like it was cut with knife ore something and the teeth part closer to the gum hurt a bit too. It is hard to describe in that, but when i look in the mirror I don't see anything special, any other color or something stucked in them.
Is it some kind of illness and I should go asap to dentist? It is really annoying, but doesnt disturb me at eating(when I use mounth pain is much lesser). Thanks for answers.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
