Modern historian and youtube tend to portray him at utterly incompetent while guys like Hindenburg,Ludendorf and Boris Shaposhnikov was really impressed with him. What your verdict was he a good strategist/Chief of staff,And more importantly was he the right man for the job of leading the Austro-Hungarian army throughout the war?

Jung has said that the hardest thing to understand is not your opposite type—if you have an introverted feeling it is very difficult to understand an extroverted thinking type—but the same functional type with the other attitude! It would be most difficult for an introverted feeling type to understand an extroverted feeling type. There one feels that one does not know how the wheels go round in that person’s head; one cannot feel one’s way into it. Such people remain to a great extent a puzzle and are very difficult to understand spontaneously. Here the theory of types is tremendously important practically, for it is the only thing that can prevent one from completely misunderstanding certain people. It gives a clue to the understanding of a person whose spontaneous reactions are a complete puzzle, whom you would, if you reacted spontaneously, misunderstand completely.
