A list of puns related to "Fetch The Bolt Cutters"
This would be mine:
So, the release of FTBC saw a lot of hype from fans and critics, that it was hard not to get lost in it - my question is now itβs been out over a year and has had time to settle in, do you still like it as much?
As for me Iβm not as obsessed now as I was in the months following the release but itβs still a fantastic album with no filler songs, a masterpiece and one of my favourite albums.

I wouldnβt be surprised if Fiona Apple influenced a lot of this album. Seems Lana experimented a lot with her vocals.
You don't have to do every album if you don't want. I'm mostly interested in people's rankings of fetch the bolt cutters. Here's mine :)
Tidal: shadowboxer, sleep to dream, the child is gone
WTP: on the bound, get gone, the way things are
EM: not about love, waltz, oh well
TIW: werewolf, daredevil, largo (i think largo counts on tiw)
FTBC: rack of his, cosmonauts, ladies

Background:
Fiona Apple has had a unique career by any standard. Her debut record, Tidal, was released in 1996 when she was just 19. Her early years attracted plenty of attention, divided between both deserved acclaim and the usual kind of misogyny and masculine-gazing bullshit that can be expected towards any precocious young female artist in the music industry. Her early years were dotted with over-emphasized controversy from a press machine clearly determined to dramatize her personality, making a big deal out of events such as her 1997 acceptance for Best New Artist at the VMAs. There, she chose to state the obvious: βThe world is bullshit.β If thereβs any statement that would best define her work, itβs likely that one. After releasing another perfect record in 1999 (When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right) to less attention but plenty of the same acclaim, a further pattern emerged for her career.
Appleβs career has since been defined by that pattern: lengthier gaps of time between releases which are each notably more sparse and experimental than the last. Sheβs released exactly three records in the last twenty years, and the pace isnβt likely to change anytime soon. Nonetheless, theyβre all incredible feats of musicianship, and theyβre all wort

Fiona Appleβs debut album Tidal was all about proving herself. Written and recorded at the young age of 18, her debut boasts mature vocals and intricate songwriting β so much as so that the studio executive that signed her, Andrew Slater, said she βsounded like a 30-year-old singer who had written a lifetimeβs worth of material.β Propelled by its grammy-winning single βCriminalβ, Tidal would eventually sell more than two million copies, Propelling Apple into global stardom.
However, her success was not without criticism. A 1997 spin profile, which portrayed her as pretentious and melodramatic, had some readers describing her as the βmost annoying thing in the world.β A few months later, in her 1998 acceptance speech for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, she said βthis world is bullshitβ and told fans to go with themselves. Many viewers perceived the speech as ungrateful. It was so bad that just a few years into her career, Apple had (unfairly) developed a reputation as both a bitch and a brat, and many critics attributed her success to the popularity of other massive female rock acts, such as Alanis Morissette and Tori Amos. Fiona Apple responded to this criticism with her sophomore release When the Pawnβ¦ β itβs full title a 444 character poem about standing your ground. Pitchforkβs Judy Berman described the album as an βaura-photo that captured a snarled psyche untangling itself with a fine-tooth comb.β
Flash forward to spring 2020. Fiona Apple has largely avoided the spotlight,

this is an unofficial discussion for reactions to the album or whatever your little heart desires. this is for the sake of preserving discussion on as many albums as possible. if there's any releases for the week (or in general) that may be of interest missing from the schedule either PM me or leave a comment somewhere and i'll add it.
I should preface this by saying I think this is a really great, borderline brilliant album and one that is extremely needed right now.
However, this isn't really as much a discussion of the album as it is the mythical 10/10 rating from Pitchfork. This is the first time in a decade we've gotten a perfect Pitchfork score for an album, the last being Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". To go back and forth about the deservedness of the score seems pedantic, as everyone will have different opinions (music is subjective after all), but I think the discussion on Pitchfork and their choice to give the 10/10 to THIS album is interesting.
For a long time now it seems as if Pitchfork is chasing trends, poptimism being the biggest one. With giving an album like this a 10/10 β a very human, visceral and home-made record, that while released by Epic, is very independent with a beloved indie artist like Apple at the helm β is this Pitchfork trying to "regain indie cred" again? The current discourse around this album seems to be entirely about the Pitchfork review, and not around the album itself.
These thoughts are mostly jumbled, I just wanted to start a discussion about this.

the review not the album
Released April 17 , 2020. One year ago today, in the depths of the pandemic quarantine, a ray of sunshine illuminated the world. The best album in many years (since "The Idler Wheel..."). It got many of us through that worst of years.
Thank you Fiona for your gift of music and insight.
