The religious perspective about the fall of the Fatimid Caliphate
Salam.
I have a question: What does it mean for us that the Fatimid Caliphate has fallen?
I asking because I have a very VERY annoying Sunni neighbor and often he insults me, calls me a Kafir, etc.. the typical things. I try to ignore him but there was one time I answered, when he asks me then that if we were true Muslims then why God hadn't protected the Fatimid Caliphate. Honestly I don't know a answer to that. But I didn't argue with him further and went away. But this question didn't go out of my mind anymore. Maybe it is also a bit of dispair that let me think "What if we are wrong?". So yeah... that is the story behind this question. Maybe one of you can me answer that.

The Druze religion accepted new members and actively evangelized between its founding in 1017 and the "Closing of the Divine Call" in 1043, when it ended new membership and became an exclusively hereditary faith. What social classes, people, and communities in the Fatimid Caliphate became Druze?

Unfinished scenario in which the HRE controls Gallia, Germania, Italia, and Polonia. The some of the main powers of this scenario are the ERE, The Fatimids, the Gallic Empire, England, The Almoravids, The Kievan Rus, Aquitaine, and the Seljuk Empire. The name doesnt really make sense but yeah

Safavid and Fatimid empires are proof that Sunnis-Shias can never unite.
Many have said "Sunnis and Shias should unite and then we would have a lot more power to stop non-Muslim interference."
Looking back at history though, it just simply doesnt seem possible or realistic. The only example would be Azerbaijan uniting with Turkey, but then Azeri Shias got very secular due to Soviet rule and put Turkic roots ahead of Shia'ism so they are very different as opposed to other Shias.

Ummayads, Abbassids, Fatimids, Buyids, Zirids, and Others "ids" and "ads"
Abbassids were Banu Abbass, Fatimids Banu Fatima, Buyids Banu Buwayah, Zirids Banu Ziri, Ummayad Banu Ummayah. So how did the suffix "id" became so mainstream. Who coined it?
Some of the pre-islamic dynasties also have this suffix, examples would be ghassanids, lakhmids etc. So i was reading a local history book in my native language urdu named "Sucrat sy Kaisar e Rum tak" which means from Socrates to Julius Caeser. In that book, i read that Hannibal's family is called "Banu Barqiya" or Sons of Barq(a). This was pretty interesting to me, as to why he is named like that. Further research on internet was fruitless, as most sites claimed he was a muslim(or arab) hero(utterly laughable) and champion who migrated from levant. So, what was his ancestory, are pre-islamic numdian, and other peoples also have these kind of suffixes or not(ids and ads)?

Fatimid Caliphate. Who knows more about this??
The Fatimids originated in Ifriqiya (modern-day Tunisia and eastern Algeria). The dynasty was founded in 909 by สปAbdullฤh al-Mahdฤซ Billah, who legitimized his claim through descent from Muhammad by way of his daughter Fฤtima as-Zahra and her husband สปAlฤซ ibn-Abฤซ-Tฤlib, the first Shฤซสปa Imฤm, hence the name al-Fฤtimiyyลซn "Fatimid".[135] The Fatamids and the Zaydis at the time, used the Hanafi jurisprudence, as did most Sunnis.
Abdullฤh al-Mahdi's control soon extended over all of central Maghreb, an area consisting of the modern countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya, which he ruled from Mahdia, his capital in Tunisia.

Fatimid and mamluk architecture differences?
Serious question:
What are the differences between Fatimid and Mamluk architecture? Can you give some good examples?
Also, what would be some good resources to study these architecture styles?

What if the Fatimid Caliphate allied with the Crusader States against its foes?
Let's say that Tala'i ibn Ruzzik still serves as vizier, but does not empower Shawar ibn Mujir al-Sa'di as much as he did in real life (meaning that Shawar does not call for help from Shirkuh (and, crucially, that Saladin never comes to rule Egypt). Let's also say that Al-Fa'iz bi-Nasr Allah is not sickly and grows up to be a strong caliph. Both ibn Ruzzik and Al-Fa'iz decide to pursue alliance with the Crusader States in return for access to Jerusalem, and so end up helping them against the Zengid Dynasty instead of the other way around. What happens after this point?
(Bonus points if you figure out where Saladin ends up from these changes.)

Architecture in the Fatimid Caliphate
Hello all!
I'm a translator and after lengthy fruitless research I decided to ask reddit:
What would a regular residence look like in the Fatimid Caliphate during the 14th century? Were there rooms with specific names and functions? Did they have a sort of balcony? And how did the residence of a commoner differ from a wealthy citizen, besides size and general snazziness? :D
Thank you!

Al-Aqmar Mosque was built in Cairo, Egypt, as a neighborhood mosque by the Fatimid vizier al-Maโmun al-Bataโihi in 1125-6 CE. The mosque is situated on what was once the main avenue and ceremonial heart of Cairo, in the immediate neighborhood of the Fatimid caliphal palaces.

What If the Fatimid Caliphate Survived?
In this timeline, the Fatimid Caliphate strengthens the economy of North Africa and it's military as well as it's political system enabling it to permanently crush the Zengids and prevent the Ayyubid Sultanate from ever existing.
How would this affect the history, culture, demographics and economic development of North Africa and the Levant?
