A list of puns related to "Falcon Wing Doors"
Iβve been waiting 2 weeks to get my falcon wind door handle replaced. Iβm talking about the metal part. Should I be concerned?
Made an appointment with the service center and they called and said this was normal but I could bring it in and they would adjust it for $200. Iβve seen some horror stories of the glass cracking and would rather pay $200 now to prevent this. My concern is that it is an intermittent problem. What if it doesnβt touch the glass when I bring it in and they just charge me $200 for nothing. Any advice?
What are the minimal lateral and vertical clearances needes to open the falcon wing doors?
There has been some speculation that Tesla will remove the Falcon Wing doors in the future, so I wanted to know, do you like the Falcon Wing doors, or do you think the Model X would be better without them?
Elon said that in hindsight the doors were way too complicated. Next gen probably wonβt have them, in my opinion, making current gen extra special and potentially valuable.
As above. Also how the fuck was this community created 5 years ago.
I get it, the falcon wing doors are like nothing else. I also don't really see the point of them, especially with a big hatch. They add a lot of complexity and cost without a lot of value.
Any thoughts on a Model X redesign without them?
Musk has said that the model Y will share 76% of parts with model 3. He has also referred to the model X as a faberge egg: beautiful, but very hard to produce, whereas model Y is supposed to be a manufacturing marvel, and the FWD are just difficult all around.
This makes it extremely unlikely, to the point where Iβm willing to call it a certainty, that the model Y will not have falcon wing doors.
I for one am relieved, and shall now graciously accept your downvotes and criticisms ;)
Edit: fixed logic
This first happened about a month ago. Was in the garage and open the door and it opened up into the garage door lift and smashed the glass in the roof. Apparently due to a "firmware updater bug".
Same thing just happened again. UGH. Same exact location is smashed. To be clear I was not manually overriding it. Just pushed external car door handle to open. I have the garage geo tagged so it opens 3/4 of the way so its easy to get my kid in. But for some reason it opened at 100% and didn't detect the ceiling this time.
I guessed we would have problems with the doors but didn't know it would be this early! We bought the car in June. Thankfully Tesla Service on Van Ness have been excellent. They brought a loaner out to the house and made it super easy. At least.
Has this happened to anyone else?? I surely can't be the only one!?
Am I correct in assuming the car door should never smash into anything above it when you press the button to open the door?
Am I doing something wrong?
So Elon said the pickup will look cyberpunk and Blade Runner is one of the influences.
If you look at Deckard's Sedan from the original movie, that windshield looks a lot like Elon's teaser.
In the movie, you'll notice the door used to get in and out of the car kinda looks familiar to a certain Model X. While I know that Falcon Wing doors were kind of a 'mistake' on the X, I think we've had them long enough that Elon might as well be like "fuck it, we have the tech might as well"
