LORE OF THE UNITED FEDERATION UNTIL 1694
In 310.000.001 BC, a massive land mass separated from Ireland in what was a massive earthquake. In 5.000.000 BC, the Island moved southwards, and finally, in 7000 BC, first humans have settled on the Island. The first humans who settled on the Island of Operland (named after the Operlandian tribe that resides in modern-day New Aquitaine) divided themselves in various tribes the most important being the Saoirse tribe, the Operlandian tribe, the ClΓ©irighian tribe and the Aoifean tribe. Most of those Celtic tribals adopted a primitive lifestyle of hunting and gathering.
In 55 BC, the Romans sought to conquer the Island, but the tribes rallied behind Manuel Fithne to lead successful efforts (largely based on guerrila tactics) to defeat the Roman conquerors in the first 'Islandic Alliance'. The Romans were pushed back in the Operlandian mountains, with many soldiers suffering from the climate of those. The alliance was disbanded following the defeat of the Romans against the native guerrilas.
In 851 AD, Kenneth I of Scotland created the colony of Kennethland. As Europe would start hearing about the economic opportunities in the Island, many thousands immigrated to the settlements to open their farms and gain new wealth. The following year, Beorhtwulf of Mercia and Charles ''the Bald'' of France , interested in setting up colonies in the Island, sent various ships full of soldiers to set up settlements. The settlement of New Coventry would slowly expand and would unite with other settlements in what would become the United Federation (an union of colonies loyal to the British Crown). About 50% of the natives in the colonies were forced into debt slavery, and those who didn't still weren't granted citizenship. New Aquitaine adopted a harsh version of feudalism, while the English and Scottish adopted early forms of proto-capitalism while still having certain institutions that are typical to feudalism. In 1607 AD, Dutch merchants founded their own settlement of New Hague, which they would govern as a proto-capitalist and agrarianist Confederation. The colonists largely accepted proto-classical liberal traditions such as the separations of powers and innocence before guilt, and even the devolved and reactionary French Kingdom conceded the creation of legislature ele

Following the failure of achieving major policy goals by the Horton ministry, the Phoenix Party came to challenge the incumbent Prime Minister with a leader who represented a compromise between the Highamite and Englishite wings of the Party. Charles Yarwood was a protectionist, yet an opponent of central banking, a supporter of low spending yet higher taxes, an expansionist and a committed loyalist. He attacked Horton on poor relations with the Senate and with the British mainland, as well as his resistance to the annexation of Strestein. Horton attacked Yarwood accusing him of having illiberal intentions, and gained a loyal farmer following because of his fights against property requirements for voting , as well as his support for publicly funded schools and lower tariffs. Horton won the popular vote, yet Yarwood won most seats in what was a heavily gerrymandered election.

Though he was accused of being illegitimate by his opponents, he quickly gained the trust of Britain. Being wildly popular in the Island because of his views on unification and his inspiration for various nationalistic movements, Operland's Governor's Speech largely focused on expansionism. Anti-expansion Whigs, in order to prevent Operland being voted in, boycotted the vote. However they underestimated the presence of Phoenixites who were in favor of William Operland, with the entire Highamite wing supporting Operland. Thus, Operland easily won the vote of confidence.
Deputy Prime Minister: Evon Johnson (Whig)
Home Secretary: Pitt Miracle (Whig)
Secretary of State for Defence: Aldercy Yemm (Phoenix)
Secretary of State for the Treasury: James Higham (Phoenix)
Chancellor of the Exchequer: Axton Mittrich (Whig)

β’ Many Whig leaders called for the expulsion of party members that took part of the "boycott Operland" movement, Operland strongly opposed this decision calling for pluralism within the Party, imposing his first veto as Whig leader.
β’ William Operland organized the first PMQ's in UF history, where the Opposition and backbenchers could question the Prime Minister himself
β’ Despite being a Whig, William Operland invited various pro-expansion and economically liberal Phoenixites to his Cabinet, such as former Secretary of State Yemm, former Prime Minister Higham and future Prime Minister Huber.
β’ Operland greatly expanded civil liberties under his tenure with the 7 Freedoms Act, which expanded the already existing Freedom of Press & Freedom of Opinion Acts, but added a section protecting the religious freedom of all Christian denominations, a section protecting freedom of expression through arts, a section protecting the right to association with political parties, with only the Supreme Court being able to ban a political party with a 2/3 vote, and also protected the right to privacy
β’ William Operland continued the Jewish Exclusion Act realizing the lack of support for its repeal in the Parliament, however, he refused to expand it on immigration

B1032 β a bill that has stretched credulity in its aim to nationalise failing pubs β threatened the future of the government this week when the Progressive Workers Party (PWP), led by First Secretary of State /u/KalvinLokan, vowed to bring the government to a standstill if reluctant Labour ministers didnβt cast their doubts to one side and nod through the legislation.
In a remarkable act of assertiveness for a party that has caused headache after headache for the government, the PWP declared in cabinet that if itβs controversial pubs legislation wasnβt endorsed by all the governing parties it would start vetoing an increasingly malcontent Labour Partyβs bills. While reports differ, there are also murmurs that the PWP expressed a willingness to go for the nuclear option and withdraw from government altogether β although the Herald can only verify that the former threat was made. If government ministers outside the PWP seem unconvinced by the bill, then perhaps the first secretary of state will regret submitting it to the House of Commons unfinished; it wasnβt even introduced with a complete introductory speech.
While ideologically unpopular with members of the opposition, and indeed some government members, B1032 has also raised eyebrows based on it misinterpreting the workings of alcohol duty in its plans to effectively subsidise beer at nationalised pubs. The legislation in its current form seeks to provide alcohol duty relief to boost these new community pubs β but, unlike VAT, excise duties are levied on manufacturers (in this case breweries) and not those later selling it on (the pubs).
Government figures such as Chancellor of the Exchequer Sir /u/NGSpy had initially expressed a willingness to address some of the billβs discrepancies through Parliamentβs amendments procedure. However, in an extraordinary display of disunity and ministerial chaos, he will now reportedly be undermined in those efforts by his own deputy, Solidarity stalwart and Chief Secretary to the Treasury /u/WineRedPsy.
Some of the billβs more eccentric measures include a Β£150,000 fine for individuals who inform pub managers of impending government inspections, its intention to establish a βDepartment for Pubs and Tavernsβ, and provisions to take managers to court if their pubs fail to be profitable. While opposition membersβ aversion to B1032 is unlikely to change, it remains to be seen how the extreme scepticism surrounding it within the government itself will manife

If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
