A list of puns related to "Electronicore"
Hey all, I'm preparing to write an Academic paper involving Metalcore for a conference, and was looking for some thoughts on this:
(Genre) Electronicore
(Subgenre 1) British Electronicore (Invented by Enter Shikari, who were founded as Hybryd in 1999 and invented the genre just before I See Stars in 2003-2007. Evolved out of Electronic Punk/Electronic Dance bands like The Prodigy, taking heavy influence from Metalcore as well as Hardcore and Digital Hardcore, and lacks the characteristic autotune/electropop sound.)^(1)
(Subgenre 2) American Electronicore (Invented by I See Stars (i.e. 2003-2011), evolved out of Electropop/EDM + Metalcore, often with Autotune. E.g. I See Stars' first EP/first two albums, Dead By April, Breathe Carolina, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Sometimes also known as "Trancecore.")
(Subgenre 3) Electronic Deathcore (A combination of the Deathcore subgenre and Electronic music that evolved out of early Electronicore, arguably invented by We Butter the Bread with Butter. E.g. Exotype, Design the Skyline, The Browning.)
(Subgenre 4) Nintendocore (Hardcore/Metalcore + Chiptune/Video Game Tracks. Originated with Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978, coined by HorsetheBand in 1997 who were the first to combine it with Metalcore, predating Electronicore. E.g. Sky Eats Airplane, ISS' "This isn't a Game, Boy")^(2)
... keep reading on reddit β‘It's been my favourite genre for a while now and I'm a guitarist, vocalist (both clean and unclean), and producer. I've mainly produced EDM, but lately I've been doing heavier music, such as melodic death metal covers on guitar and vocals (and digitally producing the rest myself). I'd LOVE to combine my styles, but I'm not really sure how to go about it. Should I focus on melodies? Chord progressions? Lean more into EDM or lean more into metal? I've only written lyrics once and I'm not particularly poetic (at least not metaphorically), so what kind of lyrics should I write and how should I go about it?
I'm very confident that I would be good at arranging, performing, and producing electronicore. I just don't know where to start with writing it.
I'm curious since I haven't encountered a collective fanbase of them.
Hi everyone!
I hope this kind of post is allowed here. I'm doing a little project where I go to different subreddits of music genres and I ask the members what the best album of that genre is. After this, I listen to the album that got the most upvotes after 24 hours and write my thoughts about it (I will write this as a comment under this one, so if you want to read it, make sure to check back in 2-3 days. This won't be a professional review btw. I don't know anything about music theory so it's just gonna be the thoughts of a random guy). The list I'm following is Wikipedia's list of the most popular music genres in a randomized order. I'm planning to listen to one album per day and this time the genre is Electronicore. So please recommend me an album in the comments. It could be the best one in your opinion, your personal favourite, or the album that best represents this genre according to you, but please, only submit one album. If you submit more than one in your comment, it won't count (If you really want to submit more, do it in separate comments). LPs are preferred, but EPs and mixtapes are also acceptable, even compilations and live albums if they're not too long. I don't know anything about this genre, so I'm going in blind.
This is the 150th day of me doing this. If you want to see what the previous days were, check out my post history.
Thanks to anyone who recommends an album.
TL;DR: I listen to a new genre every day, so recommend me one album and I'll listen to the most upvoted one and write my thoughts about it later.

Electronicore gained popularity during the early 10s and declined in the mid 10s. Its associated with scenecore and was its most popular genre. Electronicore mixes electronic music with metalcore. The band that originated the style is Enter Shikari, a British post-hardcore band.
Attack Attack is now Attack Attack. My bad, I haven't listened to the album in years and just assumed it was electonicore.
I can only have six options in the poll, so if I missed an album or band just write it in the comments.
