WTT: Dwarfcraft, All Pedals, Montreal Assembly, Hungry Robot, Intensive Care Audio, EQD, Matthew Effects, Boss, EHX, IbaΓ±ez, TC Electronics, Digitech, Danelectro WTTF: NightSky, Context V2, Raster V2, EHX 8 Step Program, Attack Decay, Expression Ramper, MIDI Tap, ISO Power

My main desire is a NightSky, Empress, Context V2, Atmosphere, Mercury 7, BigSky I have a lot of small print ones and tried a ton but I think I haven't found my holy grail. I’m also looking for expression stuff like the Expressionator or EXH 8 Step Program. Oh and I want another Expression Ramper And could use a good ISO power unit for my back up board. But I’m up to hear offers

I generally like weird stuff, delays, reverbs, mods, glitch, bit crushers, expression and utility stuff. Also have been thinking about making my way into the MIDI world, so maybe a midi controller of some type. Not really looking for much dirt or chorus. Maybe just a selected few.

WTT:

  • Empress Echosystem (feeler) Honestly my main issue with it is the size of the enclosure, it makes my OCD flair up for some reason. But other than that I love it. I’d probably only do this for one a fancy reverb or something out of left field. Comes w/box
  • Dwarfcraft Necromancer These puppies are rare and gnarly. It's based on the Silver Rose fuzz with an added Mids control. Comes w/ box
  • Intensive Care Audio Vena Cava (feeler) I really want the new version of this. Doubt anyone with the new one wants the first one, but if the right offer for something else came around I’d just trade it and buy the new one myself for my birthday. Comes w/ box
  • Eventide Ultratap Just got this in a trade. It’s got some great features but I have way too much delay. Comes w/box
  • OBNE Black Fountain V3 this is great but again I just have way too much delay. Comes with box
  • Matthew Effects Astronomer V2 This has 3 great shimmer algorithms and it has a second footswitch to switch between two settings of any of the 3. I have a couple other shimmer that just barely beat this out, but it was close. Bit of a feeler Comes w/ box
  • Hungry Robot HG Ok yeah I have way too many feelers. I've had this for ages and can't seem to get myself to trade it. I really like it but don’t use it very often and I've never taken the time to dial in the internal dipswitches to my amp, so I feel like I should iido that before I trade it, but if an offer comes around for something I’m looking for I’ll do it. Comes w/box
  • Boss SYB-5 I got this, the SYB-3 and a Digitech Bass Synth wah for my bassist. He liked the Digitech the best. So I don't really need these ones, as I don't play bass very often anyway.
  • Boss SYB-3 (see above)
  • IbaΓ±ez TS9 Mini This got thrown into a trade that involved mul

[QUESTION] If I'm focusing on pedals for sound/effects, what kind of amp should I buy?

Hey folks, so I previously had a large 50W (i think) VOX modeling amp but I sold it to a friend a while back because I didn't need it and I was fed up with messing around with all the different amp settings and effects.

I now have a number of pedals that I'm pushing through a Boss Katana mini for home practice and recording and now I'm in a band (hard rock / metal) again and I need a new amp something in the 20W-40W range for practice and I'm really struggling with what seems to be a basic concept:

If most of my tones and effects are coming from pedals, what kind of amp should I buy? I don't need effects on the amp or amp modelling or loads of features, I just need something that has a nice loud clean tone and can handle the heavy sounds I'll be pushing with my pedal board.

Something like the Behringer HA-40R seems like what I'm looking for as it's cheap and has little to no effects or amp modelling. I like the sound from reviews of the Fender Champion 40 but I honestly do not need the additional voicings that one provides.

Feeling a little stupid and a little lost at the moment so any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Oh, also I'm currently using a Behringer BA-20 bass amp to play guitar through for the last few weeks at practice to get me by

[WTT] Pladask Romferd V2, Model feT, Greer Super Hornet, Jackson Audio Golden Boy, Laowiz Heatsaw, Boss DD-200, Neural DSP, Simple Switch Effects Pedal Order Switcher [WTTF] Dweller, Clubber Lang, Ultrasheer, UAFX Golden, OFFERS

my typical notes:

  • Everything listed is Excellent condition or better, and comes with box/contents unless otherwise noted.
  • Continuing to simplify/condense, so I'd love to combo pieces for something higher value if possible (wouldn't we all) in the interest of being less of a hoarder.
  • I can add cash as needed to balance deals.
  • Re: simplifying/condensing; I'm also willing to entertain selling, so send me a message if you're into this.
  • Posting my weekly post a day early. Please don't tell the mods.
  • Sorry in advance for being picky while not really knowing what I want. I know there's lots of feelers this week, too. I am pretty happy with the state of my board and just waiting for an offer that makes me say, "THAT'S MINE NOW GIVE IT TO ME."

things I have:

  • Greer Super Hornet: Probably a feeler as I may just keep it around for when I want to mix up my fuzzy tones, but worth offering up!
  • Laowiz Heatsaw: Only interested in a Clubber Lang here (or maybe some other neat harmonic percolator).
  • On the off chance anyone is into Neural DSP plug-ins, I have Archetype: Nolly, Archetype: Gojira, and Soldano Suite I could transfer the licenses for.
  • Simple Switch Effects Pedal Order Switcher: No velcro. No box (didn't come with one from builder).
  • Pladask Romferd V2 | imgur [traded]
  • EAE Model feT: Newest model (V3.7 I guess is what is he's calling it?). No velcro. | imgur [sold]
  • Jackson Audio Golden Boy [traded]
  • Boss DD-200 [traded]

things I want:

  • OBNE Dweller
  • Malaise Forever Clubber Lang
  • Fancy reverb: Vongon Ultrasheer or UAFX Golden of particular interest.
  • I'm set for delay at the moment.
  • Probably set for dirt (except the Clubber), but I always seem to be easily swayed in this department so I guess shoot your shot?
  • Please just send me offers. I am always easily swayed by neat things.

Effects pedal with Hydrasynth or are the built in effects good enough?

I’m wondering what the community uses with their Hydrasynth. Personally I think the built in effects are good, but the addition of a pedal could be a really nice addition. I’m torn between the Eventide Space or the Hologram Microcosm.

Are these good choices or are there other options that I should know about?

Multi effects pedal with amp simulation for beginner

Tl;DR beginner in search of a smallish multieffects pedal for home use/practice. Decent sounding, aux in and headphones out are a must. Budget up to 350€

Hey everyone, After several tries of learning guitar that were more stop than go and a long breaks in between I decided to get a teacher and give it my all. But I live in a flat with my wife and 15 months old son. So my practice time will be confined to the evening hours and I would like to be as quiet as possible for obvious reasons. And since space is also an issue I want to go the route of a smallish multieffects pedal with integrated amp sim which would be easy to put away when not in use.

My budget is up to 350€ and a headphone jack as well as an aux in port are a must for me. I would also like to have a decent number of amps and effects that should sound quite good. But I would be willing to sacrifice the amount of amps/effects if the sounds are superior to a different unit. I know I will not get quad cortex like performance in that price range but that would probably be wasted on me anyways.

I'm quite lost since there are so many options like the nux mg-30, ampero or ampero one, mooer ge 200 or maybe the new harley benton dnafx git pro. I would like to get some input from more knowledgeable people in this regard and maybe you can guide me a little bit.

Thanks in advance and have a great day.

HX Effects vs analog pedals for driving a tube amp?

I like amp distortion and I like using drives to boost them even further. Let's say I take Vermin dist with low gain and high level. Would it be the same as if I was driving an analog Proco Rat with the same settings to an already saturated amp for a tight metal tone?

Not looking for tips on achieving a great metal tone. Just wondering how well the HX effects can drive analogue old-school amps that are usually driven with boosts, dists and fuzzes.

Cheers!

[QUESTION] Pedals vs. Multi-Effects Modeler vs. Laptop

I'm relatively new to guitar (been playing about 15 months). Right now I only own two acoustics (1 is a resonator, as I'm most interested in slide guitar). I plan on purchasing my first electric sometime in 2022.

Considering I'm starting from scratch, which of these three choices makes the most sense, both budget and practicality wise?

Context: I'm not in a band, and am unlikely to be playing live with a band much anytime soon. I still mostly suck at guitar (but I'm slowly improving). My goals for 2022 are pretty modest: be able to play a few songs decently well, maybe as a duet with one other singer or musician. Eventually, I'd love to be able to play live with others. I have no illusions of any success, and I'm in my 50s, so I can't try to start a crappy rock band with my high school buddies ;-)

What would you choose, and why? At this point, I don't expect to need or want a lot of effects for my sound. But I know I want at least a few options.

  • Pedals
  • Multi-Effects Modeler
  • Laptop (weird thing I noticed about using a laptop with MainStage is that almost all YouTube tutorials on this are for Worship guitarists. No idea why?)

Potential effects pedals I'd like to have:

  • volume (for swells, ability imitate a lap steel sound) -- I assume this has to be a physical pedal
  • tuner
  • overdrive
  • boost
  • freeze
  • EQ
  • reverb
  • comnpression

I do like the concept of being able to imitate a dumble or other amp that I can't afford.

Thoughts?

What about giant pedals like the huge Strymon or intense multi-effects pedals attracts you to them?

I’ve personally never understood this. I always find that pedals like that take up way too much space on my board and I tend to dislike having to sit there for hours on end trying to figure out how to make the damn thing sound how I want it to. I like being able to know the exact scope of a pedal I am going to buy and having a good idea of what I plan to do with it. I also feel like more specialized pedals feel like the sound is more interesting and fun for me.

Piece for Electric Violin and Effect Pedals

I don't get to write as often as I would like, but I recently had a chance to present a number of pieces for electric string instruments and took the chance to write something new. This is essentially a duet for electric violin and pedal-player, this one focusing on the Moutarde from Glou-Glou. It also uses a vocoder.

The harmonic content of the piece oscillates between a 12-tone row (stated in full on line 6, tempo 56) and natural overtone series. I thought it was funny to have a very lyrical 12 tone melody while the machine is "harmonizing" with natural harmonic frequencies which sound very mechanical. The text is taken from two sources, Aldous Huxley and Ted Kaczynski, both complaining about new technology.

There are still some technical issues on my side (in the pedal settings) which need to be worked out. Parts of this recording are clipping, and I had the fuzz set way too hot in the last third of the piece. But hey, that's live music for you.

[Question] Best amp to use with a multi-effects pedal?

For the past ten years or so I've been playing through a digitech rp355 multi-effects pedal with a line 6 spider iv amp, and I've been looking to upgrade. My music taste is sort of all over the place (reggae, alt rock, classic rock, metal, blues, etc.), so I like the versatility of the multi-effects pedal, but I'm not sure if one type of amp will work sound better than another when it comes to pedals.
