Captainographer appears in the Queenโs Theatre in Hornchurch. He gives a speech to a crowd inside of it.
Good evening everyone. I am very happy to be here today to be able to speak to you about an issue that is very important in our nation: the economy.
Labour has always been the party of a strong, stable economy, with an excellent record on worker protections and ensuring the benefits of a growing economy go to those who really need them. It is this tradition that Labour hopes to continue as we turn to face the future.
Labour introduced the minimum wage, which for generations has served as the foundation of a living wage for all people in Britain. However, the minimum wage has not grown with inflation, and it is no longer a living wage. Where once even the lowliest of workers could enjoy a satisfactory life, they now often must struggle to reach the same levels their parents reached easily. As such, Labour is committed to raising the minimum wage to 12 pounds an hour, so that everyone can earn a living wage.
Furthermore, we plan a comprehensive reform of income tax. While the Tories lectured us on how we wanted to raise taxes, they did so in the worst way possible. They submitted a budget for consideration by parliament, but when they realized it would not produce a surplus, they withdrew it and redid the numbers. The new budget saw a tax hike for the lowest two brackets, while taxes on the richest in society remained the same. Here, one can easily see where the Toriesโ interests lie. They are perfectly willing to sap wealth out of the lower and middle classes, but they will not tax those who can actually afford it: the rich.
Labour is committed to righting this wrong. We will establish more 2 more tax brackets so the tax system can be better tailored to each income level. We will also make sure the middle class isnโt paying practically as much as the rich, as the Tories would have it, as that system is effectively a flat tax which unfairly harms the poor and middle class.
If you want a better, fairer economy, make sure to vote Labour this election.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 82%. (I'm a bot)

> The steps to banish egregious polluters from the City form part of wider Labour plans to place climate change at the heart of its agenda for government, as the party readies for a possible autumn election.
> The shadow chancellor said he had been impressed by Carney's attempts to drive climate change up the agenda and that someone was required to push the issue to the next stage.
> McDonnell has previously said the Bank's powers to tackle climate change risks in the financial system could be overhauled, as well as measures handing Threadneedle Street a target for raising productivity growth in the UK economy.
> McDonnell said he thought the finance sector was ready for the changes, as growing numbers of investment management firms signal they will alter investing rules to take account of climate change.
