A list of puns related to "Dramatizations"
Hello r/acting! (and sorry for the pun)
Now, don't worry, this isn't one of those quit my day job, sell everything, and follow Thespis posts. I'm no newbie and have no delusions of becoming rich and famous and marrying Emma Watson or something (oh, who am I kidding, I totally do).
Long story short, I'm 26. I used to perform a lot when I was younger; I performed a fair amount in my younger days. I did a bunch of theater as a kid (both in and outside of school) and also took classes at Second City in their teen programs.
But, as life tends to do, I ended up making the safe choice and getting a business degree and a straight job, which I've been working for the last 4 years. It's not bad, but I'm starting to feel the bug again.
I am currently about to start the AP2 level at the Annoyance in Chicago, just finished AP1 (I enjoy improv if you couldn't tell) and I wanted to hear from those of you who had to change careers from something more corporate esque to acting.
How did you do it? Did you have a plan? Any regrets/mistakes? How are you doing now?
I've still got a ways to go before I think I'm ready to start the journey and grinding it out there but I'm curious to hear how others started and are navigating this journey.
Thanks again!!!
TL;dr- Help! I'm a corporate drone who's ready to leave the matrix for the cushy world of acting.
I guess I'll put up a thesis statement: Since there is no room for exception, there aren't enough IDs to benefit all body types, and I think that inbetween-IDs should be a thing.
also moi, ft. my dog learning trampolines probably aren't his thing
Alright, this is LONG, and I hope this isn't too controversial - I'd assume it should be okay to post here, as this isn't the SK Facebook group and this does fall under the subject "Kibbe", so what better place.
If you're going to bring up a counterargument for what I'm asserting in this post, please read it all first (I'm sorry, lol, but I do bring up some possible counterarguments along the way).
I posted a cheeky kind of "type me" yesterday, asking for some ID suggestions without the commenters knowing my height. I know it's not a formally accurate way to type someone, but I felt it was necessary for my own Kibbe journey, because the official typing system fails me. My height means that I technically belong on a category that really doesn't do enough to describe my body or what objectively looks good on it very accurately. I want to emphasize that this really isn't about "resistance" or anything: It's genuinely just that I lean a lot more towards an ID that I'm technically not supposed to fit than the one the rules want me in. And with how many people are on this planet, between 13 (or, sorry, 10) Kibbe categories, I cannot be the only who is stuck between IDs because of needing elements from both.
This is the thing: I'm technically/formally most likely a D, but effectively and in broader terms fit better in FG regardless of the current height limit.
I'm 170cm/5'7/5.5 tall and have a pretty narrow frame with pretty narrow limbs and quite yang flesh, and so according to the more rule-abiding members of the community, I'm probably a D (N-types are ruled out by myself because N lines look straight up terrible on my frame).
People argue D for me because:
So we're getting another dramatic shuffle in our normal event schedule compared to Japan; this time, it's FF15 that benefits (if you can call it that) from some acceleration.
Recalling the events of the DLC Episode Prompto, this event will focus on two electrifying new additions to FFRK: Prompto and Aranea. In addition, Machinists will gain "Spark Offer", a new ability that deals damage and may induce minor imperil lightning on the target.

Welcome back FPS. So if anyone is familiar with pillowpets, the time this next story took place was a bit before they were born...I just couldn't help myself.
I can't put into words how thankful I am to you all, but I'll try. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your kind words and support. I don't think I'd have the strength to keep going with re-telling all of this if it wasn't for all of you, so thank you.
So this will be significantly uh...fluffier, for lack of words, than the other stories I've been sharing. This is one of those stories where it was aggravating at the time, but hilarious and cringey at least to me looking back on it. TL;DR at the end, like always.
Cast (for now):
Me: I go by Spark online, so that's who I'll be here. I am female and at the time I was weighing in at about 200-210 lbs.
Kat: One of my good buddys at the time, female and low 100 lb range. We were in drama together with TheBeast.
AwesomeTeach: My teacher friend I mentioned in part 2, but there were a few others that fall into the category of βAwesomeTeach,β so this name will be used to describe several people.
TheBeast: The problem child in literally every sense of the meaning. Was always very dramatic and self pitying. Female, at least 270+ lbs.
So let's get the ball rolling, shall we?
Kat and I had drama class with TheBeast near the end of the school day. This class was by far one of the most hilarious and fun classes I've ever had in all of my schooling. This class was taught by AwesomeTeach, an equally funny and kind soul. They even let us curse in class and during presentations, calling it 'creative insight into the adolescent minds of youth today'. They were the light in a very dark place for a lot of us students.
Now while Kat and I had P.E. together as well, we felt incredibly jipped that we had separate P.E teachers, so during class we almost never saw each other outside of the locker rooms. We also had separate lunches, so drama class was the only real time we were able to see each other and catch up on the shit of the day.

I'm a lifelong Christian, and I'm also an aspiring comic book writer. I really want to create a comic book series or a sequence of original graphic novels dramatizing the Biblical narratives. And not just simply as a teaching tool in children's Sunday School classrooms, but as genuinely high-quality works of fiction with real literary and artistic merit.
Do you think there could be a demand for something like that in Christian circles? I've been studying other comic book versions of the Bible, and as someone who has been writing and reading comics for a long time, they don't tend to be particularly high-quality comics. (See my above desire to make something which is more than just a Sunday School teaching aide.)
I was really inspired by The Chosen TV show, and I would really like to create a comic book or an original graphic novel which relates the stories contained within the Bible in a manner which is also a genuinely high-quality creative work.
But yeah, do you lovely folks think that there could be a demand for such a thing?

This is a question I've seen a lot, in various forms, so today I thought I would share a little about my process, using an aria I've studied for the past year or so. Because it is operatic, the process is a little more intense - opera is a theatrical art form, so the level of acting required is a little more dramatic (pun intended, sorry) compared to just singing an art song or other purely musical performance. However, because of this fact it also illustrates the ways to analyze text and character the most clearly.
So, let's begin. Here's the piece I'll be talking about - Una donna a quindici anni from Mozart's Così fan tutte. Obviously this is not me singing (but actually I'm working on getting a recent performance uploaded so you can see the end result of my analysis). But, it's a performance I generally agree with, so it's a good start.
I will explain the process, and then show a brief example as a quote.
This is obvious, but of course I mean more than just looking at the words. For this piece, because I don't speak Italian, reading the text also requires a translation. For best results, I recommend manually translating text with a dictionary (such as Word Reference as well as reading a pre-made "poetic" translation (i.e., one that sounds natural and makes sense in your language). For example purposes, I'll use the translation from Aria Database.
Once you have translated your text (if necessary), sit down and really read it. Read it out loud a couple times, both in the original language and as a translation. Think about which words and phrases you emphasized when you read it, or whether there are any natural structural breaks.
> Una donna a quindici anni
> de'e saper ogni gran moda
> Dove il diavolo, ha la coda
> Cosa e bene, e mal cos'e
> A girl/woman of fifteen years
> must know all great fashions/modes
> Where he, the devil, has his tail
> things good, and things evil.
In this case, my piece comes from a larger opera, so the context mostly revolves around understanding the plot of the opera and the other characters. However, in most other types of singing, you aren't so lucky. That doesn't mean there's no context, though!
The first place to look at is the text's author and composer. Sometimes these are one and the

"Sector four, contact." The entire bridge went deathly still. Not an finger twitched, not a breath taken, the static over the radio set complementing the death stare of the captain.
"Put it through." The static shifted, and a voice slowly became audible. A woman, singing.
"Cut it. Find the caster, get a shuttle ready." The captain turned away, her face blank, a fire in her eyes.
In the hours that followed, MRE's were packed, letters were passed, and rifles were charged. The chosen six crew members suited up, solemn silence broken by crude jokes and banter. Holograms were beamed down to scout, and a landing area was chosen.
Captain Norma herself came down to the shuttle bay to see them off, a quiet word for each. As rocket fuel burned and metal strained, all said silent prayers. The comms team scrambled to keep track of all the information being streamed back by the shuttle, most being sent straight to the research links for analysis. The captain paced the bridge, snapping at any poor soul who fell behind or 'displayed incompetence.' <Mental Break: Insulting spree>
------------------------------
As the shuttle touched down almost a half hour later, reports were coming back from research. Full filtration on all air vents, multiple large lifeforms, caution advised. Contact with the team was established, and they prepared for the worst. The first few steps out of the shuttle were always hazardous, no matter how much preparation there was.
"Definite signs of life, too ruined to properly identify."
The feeds showed crumbling stone walls, full trees growing out of them in some places. Hinges with no door led the team into a what would have been a labyrinth of corridors, if the walls were any more than knee high. Scorch marks showed where sandbags and emplacements sat, a silent testimony to violence long past.
Norma left the bridge at this point, with orders to notify her if there were any developments. The tension was still thick enough to stop bullets, but most of the excitement was gone. Static radio signals were always a gamble, but it still hurt to find nothing but ruins. <Mental Break: Hide in Room>
The team moved through the compound. Smashed sculptures, shredded carpet, splintered tile - whoever had lived here had lived well. A pile of ash and debris blocked a hallway here, collapsed roof had to be carefully removed there. In one room, a decaying mural covered a mostly intact wall, showing a figure feeding a unidentifiable

Last time I checked, it isn't on Netflix in my region anymore. I am sure it wasnt a Netflix original or else I would have found it by now. I checked the Movies and TV Shows for Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer but couldn't find or recognize any of the shows.
I don't think it had any documentation add-ons if that makes sense. I am sure it was a dramatization of the events of what the killers did and how the police eventually caught them.
I think it was only one season but had 3 episodes for 3-4 different serial killers each. It followed the perspective of the serial killers and the police trying to connect the dots to find them.
I am pretty sure the series started with Ted Bundy explaining that he wanted to be a lawyer and showed his girlfriend at the time. I remember a scene where ted's girlfriend finds a bunch of taxi bills to different places in their car. I remember another scene that shows Ted imposing as a police officer and trying to lure a girl out of her car in this parking lot area. I don't know why but I remember a taxi being involved. The scene also showed that he had a lot of handcuffs and such.
Later on in the series with a different killer which I can't remember the name. I remember one scene when he is about to get caught in a little motel in the desert. He has a young girl with him that he kidnapped and he dyed her black to make less recognizable.
Very random request but I just remember this show was a banger just can't seem to remember the name. Hope any of you do. Thanks.
