A list of puns related to "Domesday Survey"
Hi folks, I forgot about this for a month or so, but here they come. This was a survey of subscribers of the subreddit, and may not fit the exact demographics of the Brigade itself.
You can view the fancy pie charts here (I hope)
If you haven't taken it yet, you can still do so by clicking here.
Age: As is common with the NW community, most of our subscribers are high school- and university-aged. But we had a strong showing through the 20s.
Affiliation to the Brigade: Most people who took the survey are or once were affiliated with the Brigade, and those filling out the Other slot were primarily people in other regiments.
When started playing NW: It seems I forgot to add an option to say "I don't play NW" (and one for "I played MM, but not NW"), so sorry about that. But the plurality of people started playing around the time NW was released, with a significant number starting at the beginning of 2014.
Hours played: Most people are not tryhard-level invested in the game, which is unsurprising. Still, a good number were above the 1000 hour mark, which was cool.
Length of time subscribed: This seems to have followed the trends for the release of NW and the big influx at the beginning of 2014 (probably related to the Steam Winter sale?). A good number of old folks still around, too, from the beginning.
Length of time with the Brigade: Ibid. We have lots of folks to whom our subreddit is a spectacle.
How heard about the Brigade: Naturally, the majority found us through other parts of reddit. A number of the Other responses were for the Random Button, which is cool, and the rest were mostly Youtube, which for some reason I didn't include in the possible options. And a couple heard about it through my mom.
Favourite faction: The large plurality prefers the UK, with Prussia and Russia almost tied for second. No love for Austria, with only 8 votes.
Favourite game mode: Battle won the plurality, surprise surprise.
Favourite server: I'm an idiot for not having put our own server on there, but so it goes. Inb4 NA-centric survey.
Favourite class/unit: Partizani made a strong showing in the Other category.
Hi again. Three weeks ago I posted about a project I'm working on. For those who haven't seen it yet:
>So, I am embarking on an interesting project. I intend to experience the best art and media humanity has to offer before I die. Namely this is all the highly notable and interesting books, plays, art, music, films, TV shows, and video games. I guess you could call it a bucket list. I've been indexing it chronologically and downloading it to an external hard drive.
I then solicited suggestions for highly notable/significant ancient and medieval literature that I was missing from an early draft of what the list would cover. I got over 100 responses; it was clear I was missing a lot. So, I pretty much started from scratch, doing multiple sweeps of any pre-Renaissance literature, and incorporated many of the suggestions I received, ranging from missing individual works to missing authors and cultures.
I should also note that in order to prevent this list from becoming unwieldly, I am limiting myself to 10,000 entries total, forcing myself to take a more deliberate and top-down approach. So far, I have 261 entries for the time span 4000 BC to 1400 AD: 12 Ancient-era, 121 Classical-era, and 128 Medieval-era works. 251 are literature, 10 are music. In other words, 2.61% of the list is Medieval era works or earlier, which seems quite reasonable to me and leaves plenty of room for more modern works spanning across more mediums.
I thought I would share what I have so far before I begin work on more modern stuff. Note that bolded entries are in the top 1,000 works, the cream of the crop, the most notable of all. If you're following along with me and don't want it to take a decade or longer to get through the whole completed list, just sticking to the bolded entries will give you a good taste too.

1875 BC β Story of Sinuhe β Egyptian | Considered one of the finest works in ancient Egyptian literature |
1753 BC β Code of Hammurabi β Babylonian | Ancient Babylonian legal text that contains many humanitarian clauses |

I guess the concept didn't work
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes

Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

Mathematical puns makes me number
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
They were cooked in Greece.
He lost May
Now that I listen to albums, I hardly ever leave the house.
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
