A list of puns related to "Diadochi"

I'm kinda burned out on Medieval, Flintlock and Roman Fantasy. Do we have anything Hellenistic? I don't mean 300 or stuff like that. I mean the time period after or during Alexander the Great.
Iβve been reading up a lot on the Diadochi recently and I stumbled upon this neat piece of historical info that Iβd never heard of before - that the Persian Satrap Atropates had descendants that eventually married into the Arsacid Dynasty of Parthia. I read further into Atropates and found that his daughter (couldnβt find her name) had married the ill-fated Perdiccas. Did they have any children? If so, are these the children who would become some of the ancestors of the Arsacids?
Hello,
I was recently reading a lot about hellenization and was interested in how much different territories were hellenized. From what I've gathered so far, the northern levante was one of the focal points of hellenization, but I am especially interested about territories further east. I wasn't able to find a map, which is no wonder, given how little we know about Bactria or the Indo-Greek Kingdom. Now I am looking for some advanced reading or a good book that covers this. And ideas would be appreciated.
I read in Grayson's article on Assyria & Babylonia that the Babylonians had a hatred for the Macedonians/Seleucids. This got me thinking as to what exactly did the various peoples of the Persian and then Macedonian Empire react to this sudden change in authority, did they jump at the chance to break free or make new agreements with the Macedonian power? Was there specific hatred or adoration or (probably) apathy towards the Macedonians from other ethnic groups?
For instance, if I form the Argead empire as Egypt, will I still have access to any uncompleted Egyptian missions?
i was wondering what a good daidochi is to play. I was thinking of egypt and was wondering what people have had fun with.
I'm a very visual reader and I want to get the images in my head as right as possible, so additional research when reading about historical topics is something I do on a constant basis. Mostly google or pintereset serve here fine enough but currently I am interested in the diadochi and there's not much in terms of representation and recreation or even just drawings. Coins and statues are nice for overview but fuller depictions with clothing would be neat. Does anyone here know good sources?
Mine is the Seleucids
Canβt decide which one to play
Trying to get the achievement for reuniting the Empire and I've noticed the Diadochi mission tree is utterly insane.
With a relatively small amount of expansion and the surgical occupation and desecration of a few holy sites you can get:
and if you're willing to fight a long brutal civil war you can get a permanent empire wide bonus of +10% integrated culture happiness and +35% cultural assimilation speed. This is incredibly powerful.
Anyone else feel this is a bit much? It honestly makes you practically unstoppable. This ruins things a bit as its by far the most powerful you can be in the game, all other builds are pointless if you're big on min-maxing because nothing beats this.
Hi chaps, Iβve just finished Arrianβs βAnabasisβ and loved it. Iβm going to read Plutarchβs biography of Alexander when I get back to uni, thatβs where all my books are, but Iβve noticed that, whilst Alexander has many biographers, from what Iβve seen they all conclude their accounts with his death, understandably, but frustratingly.
Does anyone have any good recommendations of books which concern the events after his death, and the subsequent Wars of the Diadochi, the more history they cover the better. I prefer to read the accounts of ancient sources, like Arrian for instance, but if thereβs any modern works which are held in high regard Iβd be interested in them as well. I appreciate any advice :)
Use this at your own discretion as it completely breaks the game.
I'm currently playing as Macedon and I noticed the "Hellenistic Empire" mission. The tree requires you to conquer lower Egypt and the Mesopotamian lands to form the Hellenistic Empire.
I think every Diadochi Nation has this mission tree. Once you are an Empire you can tick off the first mission to the left.
This gives you 4 Innovations and 35 Stability. Here comes the Exploit:
You can abort the mission without penalty and then immediately retake it. It doesn't save your progress so you get the 4 innovations again.
This is the first exploit i ever found and it was quite out in the open, so i guess there must be quite a few more related to missions.
