Can anyone please give some insight into the effects on the mental health of the characters Devaki and Vasudeva from Indian Mythology
In the Indian epic of Mahabharata, the couple Devaki and Vasudeva are imprisoned for 20-25 years and have 6 of their children brutally murdered in front of them.
They also lose their 7th child to a miscarriage. They manage to swap out their 8th and youngest child (the hero of the future) for an infant girl who too is promptly murdered by the villain, Devaki's brother.
How would the mental health of a random person like you or me would be affected by such events?
I know almost nothing about human psychology and would love to get some insights on this.
