A list of puns related to "Depaul University College Of Law"
The company I work for offers tuition reimbursement and lists these schools as potential options. They works with University of Phoenix with their deferral payment plan. I can also choose a different school but these are fairly inexpensive and with a student loan I shouldn't have to pay anything until after I graduate. My company offers $5250/year towards reimbursement.
I am looking to go for accounting and DePaul does the combined degrees where I can get my BSB in Accountancy with a Masters in Audit/Advisory or Taxation. But Western Governors is less expensive and also offers Accounting - BS Business Administration and then you can go on to get MS in Accounting.
Anyone have any experience to help with my decision?
Hey everyone,
I am a newly licensed teacher and I have been thinking about getting an IB certification. Since I graduated in December, there are not a lot of jobs opening up right now. I am just subbing and bartending on the side. I have some free time and was looking more into how I could be more marketable to schools to stand out. I found a completely online program through DePaul University in Chicago that would eventually lead to an IB certification. This is the link that shows some information about it. I like the fact that it is less expensive than other courses in the IB university directory and completely asynchronous.
The goal at the end of this would be to teach abroad in the next couple of years (I already have a TEFL). I was wondering if anyone took the course or had any experience with the program. It is pretty expensive so I want to know what I am getting myself into prior to purchasing a $3,500 course. If anyone has any insight they would like to share about the program please let me know!
So I graduated law school in 2020. Leading up to that point, I'd never traveled. I didn't study abroad because I was in an honors track trying to get into law school (silly, silly me) and I don't have rich parents, so I've literally been nowhere. As you can imagine, I was so excited for my Bar trip. *Enter Pandemic*. Our class didn't get a break. The bar was pushed back multiple times, so we were studying for what felt like an eternity. After the Bar, I and many of my peers went straight to work, just grateful to still have jobs. I'm now at a firm that "doesn't have a vacation policy" which essentially means nobody takes vacation and, if you do, you're given a really, really hard time/they talk shit/etc. I'm watching all my biglaw friends be given two weeks off to travel because they've met their billables, and I have hit a wall. I work crazy hours. I haven't had a vacation. I'm paid shit. Put simply, I'm burnt out. I'm looking down a long road that is my life and afraid that I will never get any vacations or travel or get to see the world. I don't want to be stuck in the glass bubble of my office until I die. Some of you might say "Tough shit!" or "You're being dramatic," but I need you to try and empathize with the COVID graduates. I do want to be a lawyer and I truly enjoy the work, but I don't know what industries or types of firms I should be looking at so that I can have a work life balance and a gd break. It's to the point where I breakdown every single night. I'm considering just taking several months off to travel, but everyone has told me that firms don't like to see gaps in your resume. I've been working since I was 14, though, so I'm sick of hearing the gaps in your resume stuff. What can I do? Where should I go? Any advice is so appreciated.
Hi all - I'm a 3L part-time student at AUWCL. I'm primarily interested in international criminal law, human rights, and civil rights law. I am not working full-time right now, but I did work full-time while attending classes in the evening for most of the past three years. I have worked at an AmLaw100 firm, a small legal services non-profit, and a small plaintiff-side employment law firm. I'm currently interning in the intl human rights/intl crim law area.
At WCL, I am an Articles Editor on a law review, involved in D&I efforts at the law school more broadly, and will serve on the executive board of the Evening Law Student Association next year. I have a 3.67 GPA, and that's mostly because I knew how to write well my 1L year. I recently went through, and struck out at, OCI but have landed a summer clerkship since.
I am also non-binary and use they/them pronouns. I'm on the younger end of my section (just turned 28), don't have kids, and worked for 4ish years between undergrad and law school.
Happy to discuss any and everything from why WCL is the best law school in DC, to when to eat your dinner while an evening student, to what its like to be queer in law school, how to cope with Zoom University, and why my cat is my primary source of emotional support!
I'm a URM, first gen, non traditional student. I was limited to part time programs because I'll have to work. 156 LSAT :/ 3.8 GPA from the top school in the regional south. I got into Sturm and offered a full scholarship. I've read mixed reviews about the school. I'm moving from Florida and my husband and I have dreamed of living in Colorado since we visited a few years ago. What's the DL on Sturm??
