I know there are jeeps passing by Dapitan. If I ride the jeep that traverses Kalaw, will it pass by the campus? I have no idea where the school is. :(
It was one of those days. Friends convincing friends to unwind at Tapsi after a long day. One bottle became one bucket. One bucket became three. Two sticks of cigarettes later, I found myself all alone walking back to my dorm. My other female friends needed the escorting more than I do, I thought. I lived close enough to Asturias. I’ll be fine.
Stumbling along an empty Dapitan St. at 3am, I stop and lean on a wall to take a breath. Looking up to steady my vision, the back of St. Martin De Porres building greets me. UST is so beautiful after hours, I thought. At the corner of my eye, I see a man looking down at me through a window. That’s odd, why would somebody be in the building at that time? Perhaps it was a security guard on night duty. I look closer and see his dark blue-ish skin and piercing blank white eyes. He held my gaze as he lifted a finger to his lips, telling me to keep quiet. He smiled and quickly disappeared from view. I felt a shudder creep up my spine and sober me up fast. I turn away and walk to my dorm.
The next day....
“Ok class, go with your group and choose a cadaver.”
I walked up to the last unoccupied table and froze.
I know those eyes.
