A list of puns related to "Twin Towns And Sister Cities"
Mine has several: Spalding (UK), Chartres (France), Kursk (Russia), Ravenna (Italy), Gniezno (Poland), Yavne (Israel), Rusizi (Rwanda, but it is actually an entire district, not a town) and Ningde (China). Our town is currently looking for a twin in Japan, Hiraizumi is a likely candidate.
Out of all of these, I've only been to Spalding once. I hope I can get to most, if not all of them in the future.
Are there any real benefits for sister cities? Does it work like AAA Travel where somewhere that city provides information on all other sister cities or what?
For example I'm looking at Bordeaux, France and it has some major "sister cities" including Fukuoka, Munich, Los Angeles, Madrid, Bristol, Quebec City and more.
As a citizen of one city, does having other sister cities really mean anything relevant or are they just political gestures?
I don't know how familliar you guys are with the concept of sister (or twin) cities ("gradovi pobratimi" in Serbian), but it's usually a bond created between two friendly places for promoting cultural and commercial ties, with stuff like student exchanges, investments and donations, getting street name inspired by the other city's name, etc. I didn't know how common is it in USA, so I googled Denver's sister cities, and actually learned that it has 10 of them (but I bet citizens of Denver don't know for majority of them).
So I was thinking what the title says: How awesome would it be if Denver and Sombor became sister cities in the future?
Think about it:
The only potential problem would be if somehow JokiΔ and Nuggets ended on bad terms (worse than Melo), but I just don't see that happening ever.
So if everything plays off as it should, I don't see reason why not to create an eternal friendly bond between two cities, and out of all the current city friendships Denver currently has, I think this would by far be the most significant city sistership to citizens of both cities.
What do you think about the idea, and how doable is it? Should we wait for his career to end to see what to do with it, or write a petition to both city councils sooner? :D

She rang me up and told me she had a boy and a girl. She asked me for ideas on names. My sister asked, what's a good name for the girl?
I replied, Denise!
Aww that's a good name my sister said. What about the boy?
I replied, Danephew
I'm thinking of two cities or towns that are remarkably similar in history, culture, attitudes, and/or whatever else.
The immediate pairings that come to mind are:
Nashville/Austin & Philly/Boston
We go by Amber and Autumn. We're both..well..we're both pretty handy with our bows, and we can do a little nature magic. In our world everyone still believes in the ancient Greek gods and we live like it's still something B.C. except that women have some limited power, we know it bewilders you but we like it. Our parents disappeared without a trace a year ago. We've been having crazy adventures ever since. We can read each other's thoughts, Autumn says it's cause we're twins, I haven't got any better guess. Also, we're eleven years old, but most people mistake us for fourteen.
Ask either or both of us anything! About our town, our lives, who we are, our adventures, our history, our gods and goddesses, literally anything you like! Just let us know if you're asking Amber, Autumn, or both, otherwise we'll both answer.
Open call for the town's: Slogan, flower, mascot, sister city, nickname and bird! . Pen some ideas and the local camp scout troop shall hold a secret meeting to call the winners!
Google maps has a route that I can take, but that's not the issue. I know I'll need to pay cash fares both ways, and that transfers aren't valid from Mississauga to Toronto and vice versa. How do I pay those fares? Is there a cash receptacle on the bus? What about the train?
Google is telling me to take the 26E then a train in Toronto, then another bus from there. Please help!

My dad keeps saying he read the first chapter of this book once, but completely forgot the title. I've tried google but can't come up with anything, so i thought i'd give reddit a shot. Does anyone recognize this plot? Thank you so much!
I've noticed that a lot of cities have sister/twin cities internationally that seem like an odd match. For example, a sister city of Cheyenne, WY is Voghera, Italy.
So how do these cities across the world that seem to have no connections at all become sister cities, what interaction do sister cities have with each other, and who determines which cities will be sister cities?
