A list of puns related to "Continuous Wave Laser"
I'd like to know if there is any laser which emits continuous waves. For example, if I pointed a laser beam at the sky and its waves reached the planet Uranus, Would any of these waves be a very long wave starting from the laser and reaching the distant planet? In other words, if I rotate the laser 90 degrees, would the entire wave (from Earth to Uranus) rotate? Also, I'd like to know for how long the laser can emit these waves (minutes? Hours? Days?).
My recent post goes into detail about my breakup, but Jesus Christ. Finally managing to sleep, waking up and remembering life and being crushed by the reality of it all. Just can't believe this is happening or why I deserve this :(
I just think itβd add add some nice flavor and make they more distinct from the plasma weapons

Pre-testing data: I've been using the PWA for years, using it to "locate asteroids with higher-than-normal mineral content" (based on my previous understanding of the PWA), prospecting them, and slapping it with lasers if its content of the target mineral is over 15% (or 10% if I'm not being picky).
I was under the impression that this is just "how it's done", but chatting on here has made me aware that many, many people (at least two) believe that I'm doing it wrong. And, I could am very likely to be. But I'm a fan of data, so I'm going on a mining journey to see if I'm dumb and have been wasting my time, or have figured out a way to do it that nobody else does. The latter seems dumb and unlikely, considering the sheer number of players, so I'm going to go mining- (at least) twice. First using my old method with no variation at all (drop in, get scanned, sneak away, PWA boop, prospect, laser, return and sell), then with the newer method, but with my Pacifist tweaks and explicitly avoiding the glowing asteroids (drop in, get scanned, sneak away, prospect everything that doesn't glow, laser, return and sell)- and finally, one more that does every asteroid, never once deploying the PWA, as a sort of control.
My input variables are: using the PWA, how selective I am with Prospecting. My projected output variables are: number of limpets used, time taken to fill cargo hold (not tracked actively, time used making this post adds to times unequally). My deemed irrelevant variables are: ship I'm using (same in all trips, T-9, fite me), pacifist route (to remove bounty credits gained as a variable, plus it's what I do normally), price output (because bla bla bla economy), mining Platinum instead of my usual Painite (should be literally the same, functionally, sell price aside).
Ship: https://inara.cz/cmdr-fleet/369997/3582573/
Limpets: 250 / 704 (limpets / total cargo space, not including 4A Refinery bins)
Mining trip 1, old "inclusive" PWA scanning: Complete! (bailed early due to long run time and low yield, update aside)
Asteroids scanned: 30
15/15 prospected asteroids (that had Platinum >5%) had subsurface deposits (data collection stopped due to pattern).
5/30 had cores. Not looking for cores, just an interesting data point.
Percent platinum spread was 8/11/41/63/49/52/54/9/13/15/38/8/42/12/6/
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi,
Cannot find how to calculate the maximum allowed exposure distance, in relation to the power for my lab setup.
Current setup:
I am trying to calculate the minimum required distance from the eye, and what is the maximum power that I can use safely.
Thanks.
