So, I've been getting a lot of decants lately, I've definitely been on a binge, so I figured I would write some reviews! I did get some of these as parfum extraits from Hexennacht, so I will label the ones that weren't just oils. Seriously, I am pretty blown away by this house and I regret not trying them sooner, but now I'm all in.

I'm predominantly a gourmand/spice/red musk/dark scent lover. I'm not really into bland gourmands, I like the more complex ones and definitely like powerful scents that have some throw to them. I generally do not lean floral, so I will call out the scents that leaned more floral, because there are a few.

I have a few Death & Floral scents at the bottom of this GIANT list as well, but those are mostly going through their honey based scents.

Also...in addition, I am actually looking for reviews of some of Hexennacht's newer scents, so if you've tried them, TELL ME. For reference, these are the ones I'd love to hear about:

Hexennacht Reviews

Dark Sided! {Devil's Food cake, cream cheese frosting, cardamom, pipe smoke} Straight up delicious. Deep, dark, sinful chocolate and cream cheese YUM. I don't even know how to tell you how much I love this scent. Honestly, I think it's made sexy by the very faint pipe smoke that drifts in it. I full sized this pretty quick in an extrait. 5/5

Golden Milk {sweet condensed milk, coconut cream, tonka bean, raw honey, mysorewood, coconut, mango-apricot preserves, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, clove, cinnamon} This is actually a very floral cardamom scent. If you were worried this would be gourmand, think again! The milk/coconut cream is very faint, and I also don't smell mango-apricot. This is a spicy, floral scent. Unique. Not for me. I don’t even sense any honey. It has a faint moment of the sweet condensed milk when you first lay it on, but that goes bye bye REAL quick, replaced with the floral cardamom and turmeric/ginger. Spicy floral. I have this in a FS extrait, for reference.

Hedone {spiced honey, date sugar, tonka bean, red musk} I had heard that Hexennacht red musks were good, so I gave this a try. So glad I did. It's kinda a hint of sweet, but mainly incensy spice scent, with a small hint of honey. My husband loves it on me. I even got compliments while riding my horse in the arena at the barn- two women were like, who smells so good?

Moon in the Twelfth House: prickly pear, white sage, black sage, red musk, cedarwood, sandalwood, amber, ozone, hot sand, pink pepper, jammy fir balsam - This scent is sublime. If you were at all on the fence about this one I strongly encourage grabbing it. It's SO fresh and crisp and just beautifully complex. I have no clue what prickly pear smells like but there's a subdued sweet/fruity scent melding with the feathery soft sage and fir balsam. I also get the ozone which usually I don't vibe with but this time I get the impression of being outside in the desert looking up at the clear bright moon. 5/5

Vaudezilla: benzoin, vanilla, labdanum, santalum, red musk - If you like Hex's red musk single note you will probably like this because it's basically red musk + vanilla, very rich and decadent. I do appreciate the way this smells, but it's actually a little bit too thick for me to want to wear regularly. Like the next scent on the list, the red musk in this one kind of coats my throat in a way I don't like. 3/5

That Fancy Wine Won't Put This Fire Out: red musk, sweet Brachetto d'Acqui, cashmere musk fleuressence, amber, myrrh, smoked vanilla, cedarwood, suede. - I wish I could dock points for the long name but I won't since I know it's just an irrational pet peeve of mine. For a while this smelled like straight up Ibuprofen and it's faded gradually to some kind of like thick grape syrup. It's a bit too sweet and the red musk definitely doesn't help on that end. Weirdly enough when it dries down I think I can smell grape skins or something which I thought was nice, but overall this is too sweet and throat-coaty. 2/5

Strawberry Creme Soda: freshly-picked strawberries and cream soda with an extra shot of vanilla. - I wanted to love this so bad! The wet stage is delicious tart strawberry pillowed by fluffy vanilla, kind of like a strawberry swiss roll. It very much reminded me of Horsefeathers from Nui Cobalt. Unfortunately, also like Horsefeathers, the drydown gave me some sour plasticky berry scent that I really can't stand. 5/5 wet, 3/5 dry

Opalite: confetti angelcake, topped with lemon whipped cream and a melty scoop of birthday cake batter ice cream - This scent scared me at first because in the bottle I mostly smelled sour dairy. Luckily as it develops on my skin it becomes more like delicious, sticky lemon cream and soft cake. There's a popular breakfast restaurant in my town that serves lemon poppyseed panca

Mellow Yellow. There was really only one moment that I could think of for this season. I’ll let Greg Woods quote the moment.

That moment literally defined their season. Yes, Yellow had a bronze at the Momotorway, the team’s only medal, and Mellow Yellow was the only team to pole multiple times doing so at Momotorway as well as Palette Park. However, nothing topped the fall Yellup had during the qualifier at Aquamaring. It was a historic first for Marbula One and we all heard Yellup scream in pain. Fortunately, Yellup recovered and raced the rest of the season.

At Yellow’s residence, the team all gathered on their planned off day to meet up and discuss the upcoming Marble League. The entire house inside and out was nothing but yellow. I noticed there was one marble missing, Yellup. I asked “Where is Yellup?” to which Yellow replied, “Yellup is gone!” We all laughed at that line. “Not like that, they’re running some errands to get pizza and Non-Descript Yellow Soda for us.” So I sat down with Yellah, Yelley, Yellim, and Coach Mellow as we all talked about the team’s best moments.

“We’ve been up there for plenty of years.” Yelley reminisced. “There was something special about that Sand Rally gold medal from 2016. That out of the way, these are the scents that are to me, mediocre or just entirely not my thing here...and I know this is probably going to be the controversial post because I've seen so many scents that people love and get behind whereas I can't unfortunately. That said, please don't take this to heart, it's just my thoughts and thank you readers for messaging and commenting, it's been really awesome sharing this with you all for sure!...that said, let's get this rollin'!

81. Vanilla Rainbow Sprinkles (Vanilla Bean, Confetti Sprinkles, Whipped Frosting)

Kicking things off is this kind of randomly released scent that came from the Canadian exclusive side (alongside Cotton Candy Clouds & Sugar Coated) and didn't come with scent notes to really help me out here. That said, in what I smelled...it's 100% like Beach Nights, very vanilla/marshmallow-like scent that quite sounds nice. Though why it's down here is because it feels kind of like a dupe (but since so many LOVE Beach Nights, I can say they're one in the same and interesting to me. As for the comparison to Confetti Cake Pop, that scent has more of a gourmand, cake-like scent and I definitely could tell the difference.

2. Create Flame matches
3. Minor Illusion 'frames' that capture a picture permanently.
4. Minor Illusion's that 'capture' a 1 minute sound print in a cylinder that can be played back in a special frequency machine.
5. Zilargo finger print devices that send a visual print 'message' back to its message stone.
6. Brelish climbing gear, that also acts as electrical and sonic transportation wire for small camps or pop-up towns during The War.
7. A dog leash with Unseen Servant cast on it. Given the Unseen Servant’s STR 2, it can only reliably walk dogs that are 30 pounds or less; dogs heavier than that can still be walked, but can break away if they see something they want to chase.
8. This ornate dagger is honed to razor sharpness. It is enchanted to never hit a living target, no matter how skilled the wielder, once you are attuned to it. The dagger isn’t cursed; you can get rid of it whenever you want. You can just never stab someone with it. Useful if you want to amaze your friends with that trick when put your hand on a table and stab between your fingers. Also good for throwing at people; on a “hit”, the dagger will dramatically whistle past the person’s ear and thunk into a nearby wall or tree trunk, without the risk of accidentally injuring them!
9. A rather out-of-style cap with a feather in the band. It’s just unfashionable enough that it’s kind of kitschy, if you think you have the personality to pull it off. You know, like, wearing it ironically. But it might just look like you’re wearing a stupid hat. Anyway, the cap acts as a Ring of Feather Falling.
10. Traveler’s Cloak: This hooded cloak is made of a wondrous material that will keep you a little warmer when it’s cold, a little cooler when it’s hot, and a little drier when it’s raining. It offers no protection against damage from temperature-based attacks or from extreme temperatures outside normal climate conditions. It’s just a slightly better than normal cloak. Prized by shady characters who always want to appear mysteriously cloaked even on hot summer days.
11. Glasses that became opaque and reflect light from any angle when you raise a brow.
12. Water into Wine Skin: This leather waterskin can be filled with up to 4 pints of water. After a long rest, out pours a decent though rather uninteresting wine, in the same amount as the water initially poured in. After each long rest, roll 1D6: 1-2 white, 3-4 red, 5 rosé, 6 sparkling.

I picked up 2 FFM of Cotton Candy Clouds and the body cream. This was the one i was most excited for but i can't smell anything! I put some of the body cream on and it smelled sort of soapy then faded away and i literally can't detect anything from the mist besides the alcohol. Where's the cotton candy smell?😭 I'm going to let them sit and try again in case my nose is being weird but usually i have a hyper sense of smell. Anyone else not able to smell it either? I did grab some confetti cake pop lotion and that one is the bomb.🤤💕💕💕

Alright, SAS has begun and it's the first one I've took part in (maybe 2nd since I started collecting in December when that SAS was midway through). Anyways here is my haul (minus Confetti Daydream, Berry Waffle Cone, Firecracker Pop, and Denim & Daisies, but I also wanted to review them here anyways). So I'm going to review them by age from how old the scents are to current day! Let's jump in!

-Cherry Blossom (Dewy Watermelon, Red Plum, Cherry Blossom, Sheer Freesia, Soft Sandalwood)

For a while now, I've been so curious to this scent because it feels so back in the pack versus other scents that I feel like it gets slept on a little bit. Especially with its name so close to another scent that's so huge in comparison, Japanese Cherry Blossom. That said, this is a pretty awesome scent and great if you're not into the powdery effects of JCB and want a little more of a livelier fruity scent with this one. The difference is so noticeable and it just smells really soft and sweet and not as potent as it's sister!

-Love & Sunshine (Sun-Kissed Daisies, Sweet Lemon, Mara Strawberry, Golden Honeysuckle, Sunshine Musk)

Considering this was kind of shown prominently before the SAS kicked off, Love & Sunshine is a retired scent that came back and it caught my eye easily (yellow and spring-like). I kind of like the smell of this one even if it is almost a diluted lemon Pledge that I'm getting here. Very Spring-centric with the florals and the fruit notes are not as punchy as I would expect it to be, plus sunshine musk??? It's fine though, maybe middle-of-the-road.

-Bora Bora Citrus Surf (Sugared Lemon, Dewy Waterfruit, Vanilla Bean)

Wild to see all of 2020's Tropical Collection make an appearance here and I knew I had to get the remaining two scents that weren't part of this year's set, I was curious to see what was left behind. I kind of get this strong Citrus wave that kind of reminds me of Orange Skittles in particular and while I don't know what waterfruit may be, it might be this strange afterscent that kind of smells plastic-y? I don't even smell the vanilla bean either...it's kind of not my thing sadly.
