A list of puns related to "Computer File System"
my computer is having pop ups saying that some files in system 32 are not supposed to be there and stuff what should I do? ask for details required. I also had a virus attack yesterday and many of my account have been compromised over various apps
I was always told never to turn off my computer (or even gaming consoles) with the power button because it can mess up the file system. But I never understood how it happens, or why it happens. Do you think computer technology will ever advance past this obstacle?
My 3yo pc had a dying hard drive for 2 months, I can't afford another hard drive right now, so I had to grit and bear it. As soon as it started freezing from time to time, I quickly made a files backup of all my drives as I was worrying it would suddenly die on me.
And it did, just today. Stuck on the startup screen, no loading, system check told me it was 100% my drive that caused this. It briefly survived long enough to go on my desktop, then froze 2 minutes later and I had to force it off since my mouse disappeared and it was unresponsive to my keyboard. My latest backup was yesterday before I went to bed, including my art and all (games too, but I don't really care about them since they're on steam anyway).
I am fairly new to backups, and I didn't know what an image backup was, I just thought I could simply transfer my files after doing a factory reset (or after removing my dying drive...? I'm wondering if simply removing the dying drive will make my computer work again, but I don't want to mess up)
So, in the end, I only have a my files backup from my drives, but no image backup. Am I screwed? Will the files backup not be enough?
I've learned a whole bunch of stuff about networking and computer hardware as I begin my journey into hacking/pentesting but I realize I don't know a lot about the software architecture of these machines. Like the files that the OS needs to run, etc.
I've learned a lot about the Linux file system but I hardly know anything about Windows. I was learning about the host file and how important it is.
Now its got me wondering, what system files are the most important to understand? Obviously knowing it all is ideal, but where can I start if I want to know what software really makes the computer function?
I hope this makes since. TIA.
For example, if lots of files had to be transferred or downloaded from one pc to the other, it could say it would take minutes when it would take hours or visa versa.
How was the computer "deciding" that it would only take a short amount of time when in reality it took a long time
I have an ubuntu ISO file and was wondering if I could install it as the main operating system on a computer's hard drive?
For instance, if a file was 5MB in base 2, would it be a smaller size in a larger base number?
Like I said the computer is new, I've only downloaded the drivers, maybe I've done something wrong with the partitions?
It's dumb and daft but I've played this game for half my adult life. The Main save file has been one of the core constants in my life and now the file just won't register or load.
I actually cried.
If your files have files in files in files etc, it takes longer to navigate them and to find the correct file, however, itβs more accurate
I have Windows 10 home. On the 12th, in the evening I had a few 4104 logs on my computer I checked because a neighbor of mine who is also an IT expert makes me feel very uncomfortable at time and I felt a little paranoid. Went to work and came home the next morning everything seemed fine. Later that day I get more remote commands; and issue my own commands to deactivate remote commands in general, fer hours later I lose admin access and something or somone was taking my place with my name and login information. When I went to shared folders I saw 3 $Remote Admin, $C and $D and my profile. I have a pastebin link off all logs from Powershell; oddly enough the ones from the 12th that warned me that something was going to happen are no longer there and I posted the FABAR scan results as well. Did I get hacked; or is it malware/ransomware? I also noticed when I tried to download certain programs like "Sandboxie it was give me data like "Tafholef Setup and created by "H&V data limited" The new files are: Panther Ntuser.pol which when open states "PReg [ S o f t w a r e \ P o l i c i e s \ M i c r o s o f t \ W i n d o w s \ G r o u p P o l i c y O b j e c t s \ L o c a l G r o u p P o l i c y ; * * C o m m e n t : G P O N a m e : L o c a l G r o u p P o l i c y ; ; ; ]" $Widows, ~WS $Windows, ~BT KVRT_Data which has "Report" folder and a file from 7-13 but its an klr.enc1 file and can't open it? Desktop.ini which says its a desktop configuration.
Off topic; I had a NSFW file; which was placed on my desktop with my full name. Made me feel uncomfortable. What is this?

I will edit if I find anything else.
Also I had to perform a system restore to get back on because when I reset my computer I was met with a black screen. So why did I have to perform the restore is all my data compromised; and please let me know if their is anyway to see if an individual is responsible. The person I mentioned earlier creeps me out. I don;t believe anyone had physical access to my PC. Also have many NTuser.dat files. when I click and view with notepad I get a scrambled mess. The only odd thing that I can remember doing was that earlier on the 12th I downloaded a Nmapi.DLL.
I noticed that there are several duplicate DOS system files found outside the DOS directory. I want to organize this computer's directory and I was wondering if you all think it's ok for me to delete these files? Is there a reason why there would be duplicate system files or did my grandpa just do something weird when he installed dos in 1988?
I'd imagine there might be a risk deleting system files while the computer could potentially be running them. I still have the original DOS disks, if I were to run dos from those instead of the installed version, would it be safe then to start moving/deleting the files?
Thirdly, there are three files that appear in the root directory that do not appear in the DOS directory. What are these files? The config.sys file references the clock driver which is irrelevant because I removed the clock battery from the motherboard. I'm not sure what the autoexec.bat and the screen_0.bas are for respectively.
