HLF: Total sexual self acceptance as part of differentiation, the breaking of an unhealthy coping pattern, and dealing with the anger that can come with sexual frustration in a positive way.

No PMs please, I won't answer.

(TL;DR is basically the title.)

Hello all you lovely, brave people, how are you today? I hope all is as well as possible.

The topic of the evening is:

Self acceptance as part of differentiation: making the decision to accept my high sexual energy as a constant state of being.

Just in case this wasn't clear: I haven't always done this. As a way to deal with the situation, I periodically used to repress my sexual feelings, with the result that I felt completelyΒ dead inside.

I had been caught up in this unhealthy pattern of going from one end of the spectrum to the other, trying to find a way to cope, without success. Whenever I wasΒ allowing my sexualΒ energy toΒ  flood me to the max, I would feel alive but at the same time, really, REALLY angry. I am a peaceful person, but this built up energy that has nowhere to goΒ makes me want to scream until all our champagne glasses burst, or to just empty the entire shelf of plates with my elbow. But then there is always the thought that someone has to tidy it up afterwards which is somewhat anticlimactic, so... yeah, gonna give that a pass. ;-) Then, after some time, I felt I had to somehow calm down, and the only way I felt that was possible was by repressing my sexual energy again which turns out is not possible without developing depression with anhedonia and lethargy.

No more. The to and fro must end, the hamster-in-the-wheel-state of trying to find out which of the two options is the better, and not coming to any conclusion, and going back again and then changing again – it has to end. Today I made the conscious decision that I'd rather be angry and feel alive than depressed and empty. The best of all possible options is this: to be myself.

Without resentment,Β  the anger that can at times come from the frustration is a clean, pure and positive form of anger that, if channelled into the right direction, can make me achieve a lot of things – drive my creativity forwards, motivate me to run and work out etc... It is an anger that feels good, and that I don't have to express in a destructive way. It feels warm like sitting in front of the fireplace on a cold winter's day, IΒ can β€œbreathe through” this anger,Β and with a bit of meditative practise, turn it slowly into other, better things: creative flow, enthusiasm for the subjects that interest me, dedication for my personal projects, ambition, drive on all levels.

So it seems that my sex drive can be channelled in

Differentiation of psychosis and schizophrenia

Hello, I recently released from a mental hospital, and I got a diagnosis of "Major Depressive Disorder with psychotic features" as I was released. That's not the only thing I learned from "the hole" as I lovingly refer to it. Anyway. What is the real difference between psychosis and schizophrenia?

I see hallucinations sometimes, usually it's simple geometry, like circles, lines, or ovals, floating across my vision with colors that are impossible to describe, it's like a million colors at once. I've heard things like a voice yelling "STOP" or "kill yourself" on occasion. It should be noted that the voice sounded like it was in my head and most definitely did not sound like my voice, it sounded like the voice of a little girl. I hear her occasionally.

I also hear a high pitched ringing sound in my ears sometimes when I get stressed, and get blurry vision with little tracers across my vision and sometimes I can't see at all.

Any ideas here?

Scientific article: Sexual differentiation of the human brain in relation to gender identity and sexual orientation

I found this article online, when trying to prove to a particularly dense individual that being trans wasn't "a delusion". It's really concise, and a great resource that essentially proves that children are born trans, and it's been surprisingly effective at shutting down anti-trans know-it-all types:

Sexual differentiation of the human brain in relation to gender identity and sexual orientation

The PDF is available as a free download, unlike a lot of scientific articles online. From the abstract:

> During the intrauterine period the fetal brain develops in the male direction through a direct action of testosterone on the developing nerve cells, or in the female direction through the absence of this hormone surge. In this way, our gender identity (the conviction of belonging to the male or female gender) and sexual orientation are programmed into our brain structures when we are still in the womb. However, since sexual differentiation of the genitals takes place in the first two months of pregnancy and sexual differentiation of the brain starts in the second half of pregnancy, these two processes can be influenced independently, which may result in transsexuality. This also means that in the event of ambiguous sex at birth, the degree of masculinization of the genitals may not reflect the degree of masculinization of the brain. There is no proof that social environment after birth has an effect on gender identity or sexual orientation.

Really interesting stuff! I hope it's as helpful to others as it's been to me.

Pre-Emptive Strike as far as Cluster's Hakchi2.3 and Hakchi2 CE and Prior Hakchi Versions, as well as RetroArch differentials:)

Be prepared for an absolute ton of confusion! But, I will lay things out to try to make things as incredibly simple for you as all as possible!

If using Hakchi2 CE, any RetroArch in my Core Set will work:) So will all of the Cores!

If using Older Hakchi2 Versions, such as 2.21f, etc, you will need to apply the Hotfix from my Core Set, which is in Xtras Folder! I did a video about it here!! Yes, it works for NESC, too!

SNES Classic - Hotfix + MAME 2003 Cheats

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KThTOZidDVM&t=2s

Now then, if using the New Hakchi2.3 that Cluster released, do not use a RetroArch in my current Core Set. BUT, you can still use all of the Cores! When I post another Update today or tomorrow, I will throw in a RetroArch to use with Hakchi2.3, to make things easier for those who want to try it out! But, for now, you can grab it from

https://github.com/ClusterM/retroarch-clover/releases/

Use just the RetroArch from RetroArch with Cores.zip Drag and drop works. But, I highly advise to just extract, and copy and paste into User Mods folder, instead, for more precise control over which HMODS are available for installation/uninstallation:)

You CAN use the HMODS that are included, as well as additional HMODS. But, note, they are not all up to date. The ones in my set are constantly Updated on a near daily basis. So, again, if using Hakchi2.3, use the RetroArch from the link I just left, along with my Cores, if you prefer.

The reason for the RetroArch conflicts is due to a new busybox. In the end, the new busybox will potentially migrate over as coding changes to Hakchi2 CE, for those who still want to use that!

USB-HOST, wise, you can still use the Hakchi1 method! You can use Hakchi2 CE, and you can use Hakchi2.3. They all have their pluses and minuses!

Further note, if running NES/SNES with Hakchi2.3, the way I have NES and SNES to run in my RetroArchs does not function entirely the same way. So, bin/fceumm and /bin/nestopia will not work. But, they work with the RetroArchs in my set:)

Yes, things are confusing! Just keep yourself organized and exercise a bit of patience, and feel free to ask me any questions. I can see hundreds of incoming questions, given the obvious conflicts that are now present:)

Again, my Core Set is at

https://github.com/KMFDManic/NESC-SNESC-Modifications/releases

Hakchi2 CE is at

https://github.com/TeamShinkansen/hakchi2/releases/

In any case, as mentioned, I will include a RetroArch in

[R] Using automatic differentiation to optimize photonic crystals (instead of machine learning models)

We have just made available a package for the efficient simulation of photonic crystals - optical structures that "mold" the propagation of light in a number of different, useful ways. Moreover, we have also included an automatic differentiation backend, which allows the user to efficiently compute gradients of all output quantities (e.g. eigenmode frequencies and field profiles) with respect to all input parameters. https://github.com/fancompute/legume/

https://preview.redd.it/lw9tsem0hjk41.png?width=3330&format=png&auto=webp&s=78356316f5c63b19e36d928e318ee1752cb9e2f1

Our package can certainly be of use to researchers working with optical gratings or photonic crystal slabs. However, what we are even more excited about is the general idea of using automatic differentiation for the simulation of physical systems. Packages like TensorFlow and PyTorch, which have become extremely sophisticated in the past decade largely because of machine learning, are, in their core, just autodiff libraries. We can use these to "backprop" through a physical simulation, and perform really complicated optimizations with a large number of free parameters. This could be a game changer for next-generation devices, in photonics and beyond!

Paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2003.00379

Docs: https://legume.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

P. S. Our package uses Autograd, which is an autodiff extension of NumPy and SciPy.

[Differentiation] Finding the minimum of a function

So I've come across this question in a maths assignment, and I'm beginning to believe there might have been a typo:

A manufacturer wants to produce 1/2 litre plastic containers that are open at the top from as small a quantity of plastic as possible.

Show that the total surface area, A, of each cylinder is modelled by the function:

  • A = pi(R)^2 + 1000/(R)

note: This is the equation pi(R)^2 + pi(R)(H), with H replaced by [500/pi(R)^2**]**

Find the value of R for which A is a minimum, and calculate the minimum surface area of a cylinder.

Now, at this point I would find the stationary points using the derivative, however I've been having trouble finding the value of R to make the derivative function = 0.

If anyone here could give it a go, I'd love to hear how you went... Thanks for your time! :)
