A list of puns related to "Civilian Run Enterprise"
just started watching TNG and in one of the first episodes, they have to separate the disc from the main bodt of the ship in order to protect the civilians and such, but the question is why are they even there in the first place, i thought the enterprise was an exploration ship, meant to "go where no man had gone before" and what not but if that's the case why carry civilians, like the only possible reason i can think of is that they're various diplomats and such, but then why are all the negotiations done by the crew (picard, data and so on) like seriously if anyone has an answer id be greatly appreciative
Think about it. Starfleet is pretty dangerous, there is a fairly high mortality rate and risk of death or injury in space. Even as a civilian family member or teacher or barber etc. aboard the Enterprise the risk is there. Would it make more sense if Deanna Troiβs main mission is to counsel the civilian population to alleviate the stressors of long range space travel and then the crew also happens to fall under her jurisdiction?
With the bow wave opportunities opening up doors for graduating POC to potentially enter service as a civilian airmen, this got me thinking: why can't we work to place junior and senior POC - college kids who spent a significant amount of time on AFROTC and thus not on resume-building extracurriculars and internships - who are medically disqualified or have some sort of disaster that leads to them seperating from the program in good standing, into jobs in something like the AFCS, or in other parts of the federal government?
The federal government already invested so much man hours into these (former) cadets. Just this past year, a cadet went to a flight physical and they found something, and now he is no longer a cadet.
Any thoughts? Cadre? I understand that this would require a lot of participation from the AFCS and need to take into consideration their manpower needs.
It just seems wildly irresponsible.
This group could be accountable to referendums for decisions which add to costs over a certain threshold, such as 10 million dollars or something (this is an arbitrary number so whatever floats your boat). The council/commission would be from individuals across the city so that we can address community needs while not forgetting any area or submitting to political agendas.
Some ideas of my own would include: Riverfront facelift continuation Burrying highways like on the Arch grounds where possible Redesigning roadways much like Hampton south of Chippewa
Would love to hear thoughts on the council idea and my personal projects!
Can you imagine, you are not a member of Starfleet, perhaps working in one of the many civilian roles on what is essentially a mobile military base (barber, ten forward bar tender, teacher.....) Suddenly, the ship starts to violently shake, wall panels explode, and the only sign that something is out of the ordinary is if you are lucky a split second before it happens, a red alert siren goes off. 10 minutes later, everything is back to normal. Week after week after week, I think you would become a nervous wreck, at least the bridge crew get a bit of a heads up that something is happening.
Hey all, I've been trying to set up a home Minecraft server on Windows 10 Enterprise and when I run the command
>java -jar server.jar -nogui
I get the error
>Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again
>Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/minecraft/bundler/Main has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 61.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0
I've been following this tutorial here.
>java -version
which gives me the output
>java version "1.8.0_311"
>Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_311-b11)
>Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.311-b11, mixed mode)
I haven't coded at all with Java so I don't know exactly what the error means besides some suggestions from Google.
Thanks in advance!
well that was a first for me encounter civilian yell hands up they said something along the lines of get away from me you fucking rapist before running away
when they finally complied and where being cuffed they said get off me you creep
as funny as that was they really need to work on the AI in this game
you really shouldn't have to chase them around this much and you really shouldn't have to shoot them with non lethal. You are supposed to be rescuing them but unless you want to chase them around and find them after you get all the suspects it's the easier thing to do
in SWAT 4 most of them complied and only a few needed some pepper spray or whatever it seems almost all of them in this game needs that
The title says it all because I must have been mistaken the last time I purchased LTSC licenses. Is SA required for the lifecycle of the OS? I keep getting conflicting answers and just want to know the truth. Any documentation in MS licensing agreements would be great as well.
Originally I thought, you must have SA initially and an Open VL agreement to purchase it but SA was only required if you want install newer versions of it. Now I'm being told SA is required to run the OS. Also now that Open Licensing is done, how TF are you supposed to purchase the OS? Could MS make it any harder to purchase a god damned license for an OS?
I am not a seasoned user of TF cloud, but one thing I absolutely hated having to manually manage versions of modules when working on changes while another developer is working on his/her respective module. I am not sure if there is a better way, but the coordinating of versions especially after checking in the final code was annoying.
What limitations/pros/cons have you faced?
I see lots of HP brand/Dell brand enterprise NVME SSDs competitively priced on the internet. I hope to purchase some, so long as I'm able to update the OEM NVME firmwares without possessing HP/Dell servers.
Can anyone confirm success flashing either a HP or Dell OEM enterprise NVME drive installed in a system different from the original OEM server?
E.G. There are many persons confirming the "Dell Nautilus Firmware Update Utility" allows users to update their enterprise Dell OEM SAS/SATA SSDs while installed in non-Dell systems. Yet, Dell Nautilus doesnβt cover Dell NVME drives.
I'm hoping HP and Dell's flash utilities don't require their enterprise NVME drives be installed in the original OEM servers to successfully run the NVME flash update utilities.

Google Cloud is a Block Producer. I am wondering when they are ready. I am wondering how long it will take Amazon and Alibaba to catch up to Google as soon this plane takes off...
I'm at the point in the campaign where a certain character will chew you out every once in a while when you kill civilians. Will this ever result in bad consequences?
It's really annoying because countless groups of enemies will attack you in the middle of populated areas, and when the civilians try to flee, they will do so in the most inefficient way possible, most times running TOWARD the fighting and not away. I can't use shotguns, or most tactical or cybernetics as they are AOE. Even if I just use a gun, a single missed shot might hit a civilian. If I try to stall long enough for the civilians to leave, I die.
Has anyone else had this happen? How do I avoid it? Will it even matter?
Like dude... wtf...you already safe outside and you run back to the terrorists when help arrives...

Imagine if pagerduty or pingdom were a 1-man operation and therefor much smaller companies. Would the fact that they were run by solo founders put you off signing up to their services?
The fields are grown over with weeds, the farmhouse is falling apart, and the fences are collapsing all around. During his first day of work, the town preacher stops by to bless the manβs work, saying, βMay you and God work together to make this the farm of your dreams!β A few months later, the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer. Lo and behold, itβs like a completely different place β the farm house is completely rebuilt and in excellent condition, there is plenty of cattle and other livestock happily munching on feed in well-fenced pens, and the fields are filled with crops planted in neat rows. βAmazing!β the preacher says. βLook what God and you have accomplished together!β βYes, reverend,β says the farmer, βbut remember what the farm was like when God was working it alone!β
And those members do it because A PREDICTION AS A PROMISE is waiting for them.
So how gullible can a person get?
I say, very.
What is a gullible person?
If you are gullible, the joke is on you because you are easily fooled. It is thought that gullible might be derived from the verb gull, meaning "to swallow." This would be a funny coincidence as gullible describes an overly trusting person who tends to swallow the stories he hears whole.
HOW I LIKE TO TELL THEM ABOUT THE ACT OF EXPECTORATING.
I remember them things being so darn comfortable! I wanted to buy a civilian tracksuit of my own, but none of them have that nice nylon lining that the issued ones had.
Random, but does anyone know of a good running suit? Not looking to get a USMC one, but one like it without the EGA and stuff
What do you think the average civilian living on the Enterprise knows about what's going on? How do they get their information?
I'm imagining, for example, the classroom teachers we see in several episodes. It seems like semi-regularly they would experience a red alert. Presumably this would look something like a fire-drill, where students would be trained to calmly line up and proceed to an emergency shelter in or near the classroom (maybe with safety features like harnesses, padding, and force fields). Maybe the ship shakes, maybe the lights flicker and go out. The emergency lasts 5 minutes, or 30 minutes, or even for several hours. While the ship is at red alert, the students are probably not allowed to leave the emergency shelter except in extenuating circumstances...what would the teachers be able to tell them? What about the next day when the students return to class? Surely the students (and adults) would have been frightened and have questions about what happened.
I have to imagine there is normally some published information available to everyone on board, like a general schedule. It's probably not very detailed, both because the nature of the ship's missions means it's hard to know exactly how long they will take and for security reasons -- maybe something like "We'll be in sector X on a medical relief mission for the next week, then proceeding to sector Y for a diplomatic conference slated to last 2 weeks." This information lets civilians know enough, perhaps, to make travel arrangements if they plan to leave the ship or schedule visits with friends and loved ones, and provides at least some context. But how much information could they safely give out? If the schedule suddenly goes blank, say, and the ship is suddenly at high warp (visible out the windows), then everyone on board could speculate that the ship has been suddenly dispatched to a secret / urgent mission -- information that would be valuable to enemy factions.
Returning to our teacher talking to her frightened students, with some information about the ship's whereabouts, they might be able to say, "Well, we've been patrolling in a sector with a hostile faction, so maybe that's what's happening, but it's alright -- Captain Picard has gone up against them before, and always kept us safe." It would just be speculation, but at least it would be something.
Does someone on staff (Troi, as the ship's counselor?) write up a newsletter or report after the fact? "I know you're all conc
