A list of puns related to "Chassis Cab"
I bought this a little over ten years ago. At first I bought to use for hauling my dirt bike with the idea that I could convert it to an RV later, but then I realized I just could not find ramps long enough to reach the 4' high bed safely.
Since then I have used it on my property for various chores, mostly hauling firewood and skidding logs out of the woods. With the diesel it is great for that.
But it has a few problems and there are some things I want to improve change.
First, fifth gear slid off the splines a few years ago. Debating whether to get one of the fixes or get a 6 speed to replace it.
Sometimes the power is fine, sometimes it is not. Haven't figured out why, but I think either something is wrong with the governor or it is the fact that at least one of the brakes is dragging.
I have noticed that if I drive it long enough (more than 10 minutes) the passenger front wheel/hub is hot enough I can't hold my hand on it, even though I don't use the brakes much and the other wheels/hubs are not hot. The ABS light is always on and maybe that has something to do with it. Need to pull the wheel and look at the rotor/hub.
The electrics has a parasitic drain somewhere. Despite brand new batteries, if I let it sit for more than a month, the batteries are drained. The charging system works. I leave a dual battery tender on it now or disconnect the batteries. I need to find and fix that.
I want to pull the steel flatbed off and either put a new custom made aluminum bed on or find a camper that will go onto the frame. Finding a camper that I like that will take advantage of the 12' frame length behind the cab is not easy.
I want to change the gearing from 4.10 to 3.73 and add locking diffs (either something I can lock manually or air lockers). I want to delete the vacuum front axle actuator and replace the hubs with rebuildable manual hubs.
I want to add a front winch and a different bumper/etc. - I have a 9K Warn on a hitch cradle, but have not used it yet. No hitch on the front of the truck.
I want to go with taller wheels/tires meant for RVs and heavy loads - 19.5 or 20" steel wheels. Not sure whether to keep the duallies or go with super singles yet. Not really wanting off-road tires, but don't want street tires either - the purpose of the rig is to get me to/near an off-pavement remote area then use a dirt bike/ATV or my Toyota pickup to get around and explore. So it would mostly stay on the road. At the same time, I want to be able to get over
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm looking for a reliable diesel pickup that can haul furniture, small trailers and go off road. I like driving unique vehicles with character. I don't need more than 2 seats.
I found this old but well equipped one near me. I was wondering what would be a good price for it. It's got 302,000 km and the owner has it listed for $26,500. It's some sort of service truck.

I like that the owner seems passionate about the truck and I'd love to drive a unique vehicle but $26,500 seems expensive to me for something from 2001. But he does say the front engine is new and the truck seems to be well maintained. Thoughts?
Hello, everyone. Hope you dudes and dudettes are doing well. Just wondering if anyone here has tried this? I'll probably fill the hole in the top where the chassis used to sit to see if that helps. But basically I'm just curious if using the 2x12 combo as a cab without the chassis in it will mess with the acoustics of the cab? I mean. In theory I suppose it does but to the point of being less musical?
Bought an 01β F-450, Cab Chassis, 60 in from cab to rear axle. I want to put on a Goosneck hitch, are the B&W hitches from f250/f350 models interchangeable? I also bought an 8 ft bed for it I know Iβm going have a gap 5 inches greater than regular Iβm okay with it. Plan on putting a bumper and rear hitch on it as well if anyone can help me with the easiest way on going about those things because I do know the chassis is different.
Hey guys just wondering if anyone can tell me the height of the tray bed from the ground on the latest base model 2021 workmate?
I'm trying to have a canopy built but have height restrictions due to underground parking and I don't get my Hilux to measure it up until October. I can measure up an older model but I don't know if the measurements have changed in recent years or not..
The specs Toyota sent me don't include this, and Toyota seem to find this a difficult question to answer for some reason...
Can anyone share this information?
Thanks!
I have a 21 cab and chassis. Anyone with cab and chassis actually lost a wheel / seen a damaged stud? Anyone have the new torque specs? I checked mine and didnβt see any swelling or cracking in the studs.
My dealers in the area have gave me the runaround saying βmopar wheel studs are on back orderβ and that βthey donβt have the new torque specs.β
FCA, when I called the customer care line, was just as helpful as the dealers. Even told me if I were to lose a wheel and hurt/damage another party that I WOULD BE LIABLE. Their solution was for me to replace the studs if theyβve been damaged to over torquing, but I would need the torque specs for that to not break the new stud(s).
