This Day in Buster… July 2, 1921 Joe Schenck, the man responsible for Buster Keaton for much of his career, writes an interesting article for the L.A. Evening Express about what it takes to be a film comedian.

“War Italian Style,” 1967, is the last of Buster Keaton’s films to be released in the US, although not the last film he made.
Buster’s stoic performance served as a welcome counterpoint in this Italian vehicle for popular duo Franco and Ciccio, neither of whom was known for his subtlety. Buster sure wasn’t chicken in this scene! ;)

Buster Keaton appears in a March 1956 episode of the Martha Raye Show, in a version of the violin scene from Chaplin’s “Limelight.” Martha naturally takes on the Chaplin role.
