A list of puns related to "Bugsy Malone"
Hi folks. My first time here!
I'm looking for band parts for the West End (updated version) of Bugsy Malone. The version which has "That's why they call him Dandy" and "Show Business".
Any leads here?!
Hi all,
I had this song on my story last year at some point. I can't find it anywhere. It's the grime artist from Birmingham, called Sox. He's rapping over M.E.N by Bugsy Malone. I can remember all of zero words or even what it's about. Any help would be appreciated.

This 1976 movie written and directed by Alan Parker is one I'm a fan of; With it's guns that fire confectionary and adult roles being played by child actors (who bizarrely suddenly gain the voices of adults in musical numbers) this is a pretty unique film. Since it's set in a child friendly version of the criminal world of the roaring 20s it's a good one to show kids and spark an early interest in gangster movies, since most classic gangster films like the Godfather or some of Scorcese's work wouldn't be entirely suitable for really young viewers.
It isn't one I see talked about that often online but I recently did watch this video that celebrates the movie https://youtu.be/ZTTzqp_oXTo
I'd usually share another review too but like I said there aren't many and the ones that do exist are pretty short and don't really bring up much that the one I just linked doesn't, so I'll share the soundtrack playlist, full of classic songs by Paul Williams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wf625ymvEY&list=PLAtOJin1qszKOw2FTsILO9-meoYU6VKDb
I hadn't watched this film for years but one of it's songs (or a cover of one of it's songs, I should say) was featured on an advert, this made me interested in re-watching for the first time in over 10 years. It was still enormously enjoyable and I'd recommend it to anyone who has fond memories of it. When was the last time you watched? did you like it then? also, I know for a while it was a pretty common choice for schools to make a play out of- which makes a lot of sense- did anyone ever appear in a school play of it? what part did you play?
for anyone who wants to hear more about the film I've recently made a video celebrating it- obviously no one has to watch and I'm still interested in hearing answers to the question first and foremost but I'll share it anyway https://youtu.be/ZTTzqp_oXTo
Also I've listened to the soundtrack a few times- the songs are by Paul Williams, I'll leave that here too since I couldn't find many other reviews/analyses to share https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wf625ymvEY&list=PLAtOJin1qszKOw2FTsILO9-meoYU6VKDb
###Come join us for the next movie to be featured on the How Did This Get Made Podcast, Bugsy Malone!
A gangster movie in which all the gangsters are played by children. Instead of real guns and ammo, they use "splurge guns" that cover the victim in whipped cream. The story tells of the rise of Bugsy Malone and the battle for power between Fat Sam and Dandy Dan.
###The movie will be shown at our usual showtimes of 6PM and 8PM UTC, and 6PM and 8PM Central. Click HERE to watch, then go check out /r/hdtgm for details on where to hear the podcast! Hope to see you there!
This musical gangster movie for kids starring kids in adult roles that replaces weapons with pies and creamballs is hugely entertaining and creative; I rewatched for the first time in about 14 years today and I liked it as much as I did as a kid for different reasons. I recently made a video giving a slightly more thorough review if anyone is interested- though I understand if not https://youtu.be/ZTTzqp_oXTo
I also found out the film is available on YouTube, picture qualities nowhere near as good as the film usually is (I watched on DVD and found the video existed later) but it's still watchable https://youtu.be/49fKPUiEKfY
Did anyone else do Bugsy Malone as a school play at primary school? I loved it at school but now watching it as an adult Tallullah seems a bit raunchy π 'if your lonely, come and see Tallullah, you know what I mean'. Memories of belting that out as a 6 year old.
I have always been in love with the 70s kids gangster musical Bugsy Malone. Here are the character names from the film:
GIRLS
Blousey
Tallulah
Velma
Bangles
Louella
Roxy
Loretta
BOYS
Bugsy
Fat Sam
Dandy Dan
Leroy
Irving
Knuckles
Fizzy
