Hi guys, I am looking for a pure breed cat as pet. One breeder quoted 5k USD for a kitten. Is it reasonable price? The breeder dose have prize winning mommy/daddy cats. But it seems the usual price range should be 1-$2k per my google search.
My family are picking up our first British Shorthair towards end of the month, she’ll be fully vaccinated, registered, microchipped etc and we’re hoping she’ll fit into our wee family of four well.
Any tips for new owners of this breed?

My girlfriend and I have 2 British shorthairs from the same nest. It’s a girl and a boy and they appreciate each other. The boy was a very affectionate cat right from the start, he likes attention and will rarely run away when approached. However, the girl is the total opposite. When I’m working from home or when I’m watching tv, she likes to sit with me and likes getting petted. She also likes to gives kisses. But when walking through the house, she frequently runs away like her life is at stake and she crawls beneath the sofa or something else where she feels safe. We both do our best to make her feel comfortable, but there is very little improvement. The cats are 7 months old and they have been with us since they were 14 weeks.
Any advice to make her feel more comfortable?
I love pure white, blue eyed cats but cannot seem to find any BSH breeders. I don’t want a silver shaded cat either, I like pure white cats. The breeder should ideally be in the EU
How many oz of food should I be feeding him? I have a bowl of dry food at all times and feed about 1 1/4 a can of the 5.1 oz royal canine per day (divided into 4x/day)
Is this too much? Too little? This is my first kitten :)
