New to the area and don’t want to piss off the surfers. Any areas near OB that are only for body boarding?
Boyfriend usually is a runner, but got a wetsuit, fins, and a boogie board recently. I want to take him somewhere to have a good time in the waves but nothing too scary.
I’m pretty adept in the water, grew up in San Diego. Very familiar with the beaches down there but not so much up here.
Any recommendations would be great. Thank you!

I agree the harmony is better, but I see far fewer boogie boarders around Hawaii than 20 years ago. It is very noticeable. The shift of some portion of the surfing community to standup paddle boards might have contributed to the decline.
On my occasional trips to SoCal I see fewer body boarders also. Sure there's a lot in beachbreaks, most novice oceangoers having fun within 40 yards of the shore, but in any surf spots of consequence, excluding the Wedge, boogie boarders are scarce.
Knee boards were quite popular in the 1970s. They are gone. Is body boarding now on its last legs in conventional surf spots?

I have been experiencing spleen pain ever since going to the beach and boogie boarding for several hours (pain started mid-session).
Boogie boarding session was Memorial Day weekend. 2 months later, I'm still in moderate to severe pain and a lump, with any physical activity bringing me all the way back to square one.
I've had two ultrasounds. The first mentioned upper normal spleen. This was before I knew I had mono. I had some elevated liver enzymes and the ultrasound was taken out of precaution.
The second one was about a month or two later, after I went boogie boarding. It said my spleen was normal-sized, with no other commentary.

Hello, are there any good subreddits for the boogie boarding? I’ve seen some for surfing but I’ve never gotten into that like my papa did. Are there any good boogie boarding subreddits for boogie boarding and videos? Kualoa beach park is my favorite place to board, especially later in the day when the waves are better and bigger. But be careful!! I bust my chin open from getting pushed under from a wave.
Hi all. I’m looking for options within an hour drive of Boston for where to to take my young kid boogie boarding. Small waves are totally fine. Life guards at Revere Beach don’t allow boogie boards so it’s possible that it’s restricted elsewhere too. Anyone know of a close-ish beach with small waves that allows boogie boards? Thanks!!
