I've heard that benzyl benzoate kills the scabies in 5min after applying. I've done the full treatment now with BB (applying it 3 days in a row and repeat the next week) but there are still some bumps appearing sometimes. Maybe it is just post scabies but i'm not sure, so i'm still applying BB to these spots just in case (considering the fact they get killed 5min after). Is this reasonable to do or will it not be effective if not applied from neck to toes?
Hello, whenever I consume something with preservatives like Sodium Benzoate or Potassium Benzoate, I have an extreme reaction. (It also happens with TBHQ). My blood pressure spikes, heart pounds, trouble breathing, my stomach gets extremely bloated. Like a full on panic attic just from consuming a preservative. So obviously I avoid these ingredients. I am just curious what other ingredients are similar that i should also be avoiding? And what is causing this and why does it happen? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you
I've been oil cleansing with mineral oil for a while now and am looking to create a DIY oil cleanser by adding an emulsifier. I don't have easy access to SCE and I've read Polysorbate doesn't work well for mineral oil. Olivem 300 is my current front runner, but I also read that C12-C15 alkyl benzoate can work as an emulsifier for mineral oil and I have access to both at about the same price so I want to hear any opinions between these 2 emulsifiers.

This seems like the kind of thing the usual suspects would boom from the ivory towers about, but I suppose since benzoic acid has been so common in soft drinks, no one else seems to have brought up that nicotine benzoate should also create benzene in the presence of circulating vitamin C and ion catalysts in the bloodstream, as benzoic acids do.
I wouldn't assume this a major source of benzene, and indeed, things like standing next to a gas pump or drinking a Diet Pepsi might be a greater source of benzene, but it's odd how I can't find any mention of this after some search engine and Google Scholar queries.
The benzoate form may be the form consumers enjoy most, but in the interest of potential harm reduction, what are some nicotine pouches that aren't in the benzoate salt form?
Does anybody else take this and feel super weird from it? Like a weird high that makes me feel like Iβm in a dream and less coordinated.
Hi, I made some home made fermented hotsauce that turned out surprisingly decent! I'm looking to bottle it, but I just need to add .1% sodium benzoate for shelf stability.
Anyone know where I could find this locally? Haven't found anything online with google.

I have a few of those gross novelty sodas floating around the cupboard that I wanted to ferment for science. They have plenty of sugar, 42 grams, but they also have sodium bonzoate as a preservative.
Any way to get around that? Or is it a lost cause?
