A list of puns related to "Ayers Rock"
I still see both names being used equally, even on travel company sites. I thought Ayers Rock was verboten now.
People who see it as a holy place shouldn't be the reason for banning climbing it for all people. Religious believes shouldn't be forced onto others. A man made building would be something different, but in this case it's a rock that belongs to anyone/nobody.
I wouldn't make fun of people respecting those believes and thus avoid climbing it - not at all. But banning it by law is over the top.
i visited uluru about 6 years ago and it was the best thing i did in whole australia. it was in overall a great experience for me in down under, but to visit this place felt really special.
so i wonder about the spiritual meaning of this place for the indigenous people? i read that the anangu live there and i heard about dreamtime and everything but i couldn't find something explicitly about uluru.
would appreciate some information or maybe a good book/article about that.
