Although it doesn't look like much, this site is over 11,000-12,000 years old. It's GΓΆbekli Tepe in Southeastern Turkey, and it is the oldest religious site on earth. Its pre-pottery Neolithic art, structure, and design gives Humanity an insight into perhaps the earliest period of Human Civilization

[TOMT] [Video Game] About Greek gods, and the gameplay graphics were like the pottery art from that time
You had to defeat each god going down the line, with the help of Hera. I believe it was an indie game, but it was like $15 on Steam. Iβve hunted for the last 2 hours and canβt find it.

I've never done pottery, other than a couple times in grade school art class. Decided to source my own clay and process it myself. I think so far so good. One question though. How fine does my temper have to be? Should I get it ground up as fine as the clay itself is?

Kintsugi is the 500+ year old Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, honoring the artifactβs unique history by emphasizing, not hiding, the break. The example in the picture is a 19th century Raku ware tea bowl from the Edo period [1496x4099]

Looking to take pottery at either the Nepean Visual Arts Centre or Hintonburg Pottery (or taking a painting class at Nepean)
Hey! Self-explanatory title, just wondering if anyone has any advice or has taken either pottery class or painting class at the community centre or Hintonburg (these are the options as they are both close to me). Hintonburg is more expensive and I was wondering if that's just because it's fancier or if they actually have better teachers/more hands on. I am a super beginner (never potted or painted) so would need lots of assistance and non-judgemental work space.
Thanks!

[WP] Kintsugi. An art used to repair broken pottery. Also a technique used by Healers to mend broken souls detached from the mortal coil and awaiting their next reincarnation. You're one of the Healers, with a particular interest in helping people in their daily lives.

Kintsugi ('golden repair') is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, embracing flaws and imperfections rather than disguising them.

Kintsugi a Japanese art that involves repairing broken pottery using lacquer dusted with gold, silver, or platinum. The lacquer draws attention to the repairs instead of hiding them. The art is influenced by ideas in Japanese philosophy such as seeing beauty in imperfection and acceptance of change.

The Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with powder gold lacquer to highlight the imperfections is called Kintsugi. Kintsugi teaches that broken objects are not something to hide, but pridefully display.

Pottery or art studios?
I just moved from Southern California and am interested in painting pottery or taking a painting class. Are there any local places around here that youβd recommend? It seems like some places may have closed due to the pandemic. Thank you!

Anyone do Pottery at the Art center in Stamp?
I have basic experience in pottery because I took it in highschool and retained really good muscle memory. I want to do the open room one without any guidance. If you took it, how was it and would you recommend it? I donβt have any experience on the wheel but I was planning to do hand sculptures anyway.
