Arachidonic Acid Counterbalance

Hello SARMSINFO audience,

Just bought a years worth of arachidonic acid. How much Omega 3s should I supplement with daily for counterbalancing negative effects?

Will supplementing omega 3s lower the potential benefits of Arachidonic Acid?

Is the issue Linoleic or Arachidonic acid?

The PUFA debate rages on and this sub is no exception, we've all seen the threads by now.

What I'm wondering is if the effects of high n-6 intake (claimed to be excess inflammation and consequently fat storage/torpor) are a cause of arachidonic or linoleic acid.

Arachidonic, not linoleic, is metabolized by COX and turned into pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Furthermore, dietary LA doesn't seem to translate into serum AA. This suggests that LA's conversion to AA is limited.

HOWEVER... LA intake does correlate positively to LA status in the adiposities, as observed in the adiposities of the Israelis. Many of the supposed pro-inflammatory effects of AA are present in that population, but I wont draw any conclusions because... epidemiology, you could use that to argue anything really.

So what is it? LA or AA? Do you think the harmful effects of high n-6 PUFA intake are a result of serum arachidonic status facilitating inflammation or do you think auto-oxidation within the adiposities from LA is more of a contributor?

Would love to hear your guys' thoughts, this has perplexed me for a while now.

Arachidonic Acid + SARM's (Results)

What's up fellow androgen abuser's πŸ‘‹.

Around 3 months ago I made a post in this sub reddit regarding the update of my cycle consisting of SARM's (specifically Rad-140 and Mk-677 I know it's not a SARM), and Arachidonic Acid (+ TRT).

Well, the cycle is over! And my trial and error experience is ready to be shared with the world.

Before we get started, their are some disclaimers:

  1. I'm on TRT (running ~160mgs of test/week).

  2. I have run previous SARM's, Peptides, Steroids, Prohormones, and other PED cycles prior to this one.

  3. My cycle consisted of:

  • Rad-140 (titrated upward from 10mg to 20mg/day for 8 weeks).

  • Mk-677 (titrated upwards from 10mg to 20mg/day for 16 weeks).

  • Arachidonic acid (1400mg-5600mg/day taken 4-6 days a week depending on the amount of noticeable systemic inflammation and DOMS).

  • And of course my TRT dose of test.

  1. Additional supplements included: Ashwagandha, Omega-3 (krills oil), multivitamin, P5P, curcumin, creatine monohydrate, pre workout (Gorilla mind), a glucose disposal agent (Gorilla mind), CBD, NAC, beef liver supps, and milk thistle.

Okay now that we got the boring stuff outta the way, let's get to the cycle results!

RESULTS:

WEEK 1: starting weight 192 diced (I'd say ~8-9% bf).

Noticable benefits:

  • Very awesome intense pumps that last outside the gym... Very painful pumps though.Β  (credit given to the Arachidonic acid).

  • Weight jumped from 192lbs to 196lbs (water, fat and nitrogen retention of course).

  • Recovery speed was awesome and clearly noticeable (haven't cycled in a while might be placebo).

Noticable side effects:

  • Pumps we're pretty damn painful.

WEEK 2: weight 196lbs.

Noticable benefits:

  • Once again, very awesome intense pumps (Started a pyramid strategy with AA because the pumps were a bit too painful lol).

  • Weight went from 196lbs to 198lbs.

  • Recovery speed continued to be awesome and clearly noticeable.

  • slight size increases all over my body, primarily my upper chest, traps, quads, and arms (again, probably water, fat, and nitrogen retention).

Noticable side effects:

  • Again, pumps we're pretty unbearable.

WEEK 3: weight 198lbs.

Noticable benefits:

  • Once again, ridiculous pumps (I think it's starting to level off a bit though).

  • Weight went from 198lbs-200lbs.

  • Recovery speed continued to be awesome and clearly noticeable.

  • More noticeable weight gain (probably water n fat bloat loard lifestyle πŸ˜‚).

Reputable Arachidonic Acid source?

Hi Everyone,

There was a very interesting study on gut microbiome and depression in rats. One of the things they found was the depressed rats with bad gut flora responded to supplementation with arachidonic acid as the bad gut flora greatly reduced the available AA serum levels and apparently this causes some dysfunction in the endocannabinoid system. I'm looking to try this on my highly treatment resistant depression but the sources on Amazon seem mostly body-building related and kind of sketchy. Are there any recommended brands out there?

They also noted the rats responded well to supplementation with l. plantarum (lpWJL) but I have not been able to find a consumer source for that strain at all.

For those interested in the study, it's here:

Summary

Background & Aims

Pancreatic cancer (PC) with a dismal prognosis is considered as a fatal malignancy, attracting the scientists’ attention to study its causes and pathogenesis pathways. Given the lack of enough evidence and conflicting findings about the association of PC risk with plasma fatty acids, we aimed to explore the associations of circulating plasma fatty acids with the risk of PC in a cohort study.

Methods

From about 50,000 subjects participated in this cohort study in 2004–2008, fifty incident cases of PC were recruited and 150 controls matched by age, sex and residence place (urban/rural) were randomly selected. The plasma fatty acids composition was measured by gas chromatography with Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) in plasma samples collected at the baseline of cohort study. Multivariable conditional logistic regression was used to estimate OR (with 95% CI) of PC risk associated with plasma levels of fatty acids considering known potential risk factors for

Use MK677 to combat Arachidonic Acid

Got some Arachidonic Acid a week ago and was loving it. Got super good pumps and I wasn’t even super sore. But today after a back workout last night it all hit me like a brick and my whole body is super fucked up. Mk677 always worked great for me for recovery, but I stopped taking it a month or two ago. Would it have any benefit if I took it right now to help recover from this shit alittle faster or would it do nothing cause it needs to be taken for longer periods of time. Thanks. (I’m taking my omega 3s and tumeric to hopefully help reduce inflammation also, and foam rolling)

Arachidonic acid induces a long-lasting facilitation of hippocampal synaptic transmission by modulating PKC activity and nicotinic ACh receptors (cupuaçu butter)

Arachidonic acid induces a long-lasting facilitation of hippocampal synaptic transmission by modulating PKC activity and nicotinic ACh receptors

>The present study was conducted to understand the effect of arachidonic acid on nicotinic acetylcholine (ACh) receptor-mediated synaptic plasticity. Arachidonic acid persistently (>/=1 h) potentiated currents through neuronal nicotinic ACh receptors (alpha7 and alpha4beta2) expressed in Xenopus oocytes, and the effect was blocked by the selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitors, such as GF109203X, PKCI, and co-expressed active PKC inhibitor peptide. This free fatty acid markedly increased nicotine-sensitive glutamate release from hippocampal slices and enhanced the rate of nicotine-sensitive miniature excitatory postsynaptic currents without affecting the amplitude in cultured hippocampal CA1 neurons under the influence of PKC. Furthermore, arachidonic acid induced a long-lasting (>/=3 h) facilitation of hippocampal CA1 synaptic transmission in slices, and the effect was blocked by nicotinic ACh receptor antagonists, alpha-bungarotoxin and mecamylamine. The facilitation, whereas independent of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors, shares a common mechanism with long-term potentiation (LTP) induced by tetanic stimulation. The results of the present study thus suggest that arachidonic acid sustains enhanced activity of nicotinic ACh receptors by interacting with a PKC pathway, thereby increasing glutamate release from presynaptic terminals, and then leading to an 'LTP-like' facilitation of hippocampal synaptic transmission.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10366747/

>Arachidonic acid (AA, sometimes ARA) is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid 20:4(ω-6), or 20:4(5,8,11,14).[2] It is structurally related to the saturated arachidic acid found in cupuaçu butter.[3]

Does this mean cupuacu butter would be a source for this? I don't find whether this arachidic acid converts into arachidonic acid.
