A list of puns related to "Ancoats"
Hi all, in Manchester for the week and looking for a good place to park, the car park I found near where I'm staying in Ancoats is roughly Β£5 a day which although isn't bad, adds up a fair bit after a week, anyone know any better places I can park over the next week? Thanks!
Does anyone know why there has been a helicopter circling the same area above Ancoats/ Northern Quarter for the past couple of hours this morning??
For my A Level Geography course, I am conducting a piece of research on how residents of Ancoats perceive both Ancoats and Ramsbottom (a small town North of Bury) to be. I have created a questionnaire to collect the data and i would be very appreciative if you were to fill it in. If you are unsure, just leave it blank. Every weekend, loud dance music around where Gt Ancoats Street meets the Ashton canal. Is there a new nightclub or rave venue around there now or something?
I know NQ/Ancoats fairly well, but due to lockdown haven't really been in to Manchester in last 18 months. On a stag there next weekend, we've our earlier stuff booked (i.e. 3-9pm) but I'm just wondering about a decent late bar. As mentioned, we're late 30s, don't really want hip-hop/rnb etc, so wondering what other options there are? Ideally I'm up for motown, 60s, disco, 80s, indie, house, etc. Much obliged in advance!
1.) Does anyone know when the public park at Depot Mayfield will we completed?
2.) Does anyone know what will be built on the site of the old Ancoats Retail Park in between New Islington Marina and Oxygen Tower?
So yesterday was a glorious day... headed down to the marina to make the most of the last few hours of the sun. Around 7pm some security guards start to move people from the marina, claiming that the marina belongs to the residents.
Am I right thinking that the marina is a public space and since when have some βsecurityβ guards been able to move people from a public site.
No signage telling you this....
Hey Reddit hivemind.
I'm a recent returnee to the UK after a decade away in Canada and living in Manchester for the first time.
I'm absolutely loving it so far but struggling to find any good running routes from where I'm based in Ancoats. I'm not looking for anything too crazy, but just wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
I saw that Clayton vale is relatively nearby. Is that worth me checking out and safe to run in?
Apologies for the noob question! Any help greatly appreciated...
Alright guys - Iβm looking for a decent training partner whoβs open to training in the Ancoats / Salford area.
Iβve been weight training myself for quite a few years, and take it very seriously. Iβm looking to push myself beyond my limits with my current weights / bodybuilding routine, and also have someone whoβs interested in diet and nutrition to chat with.
Just a couple of points & reassurances:
Iβm not a nutter or a gym sadist - Iβm looking for a sensible and at least semi-experienced training partner, not someone to scream at every set.
If youβre less experienced, Iβd be open to training with you and teaching you what Iβve learned so far, however Iβm particular about the kind of gym Iβm able to train at. Iβm currently at Proper Gym in Ancoats, however Iβve been looking at Flex nβ Tone in Salford for occasional sessions as it seems really well equipped. I donβt meant to sound like a prima donna but I canβt train at a city centre Pure Gym / JD Gym theyβre just to crowded to train effectively.
I do have friends who I could train with, but theyβre not really enthusiastic about bodybuilding like I am and likely wouldnβt consistently turn up for more than a couple of weeks - which is more what Iβm looking for in a training partner.
Currently I train on the way home from work or around lunch time. Iβm a business owner which means I can usually train whenever I want during the day, but I canβt train in the evening due to family commitments (Iβd need to leave the gym for 5pm at the latest, anything earlier is flexible though!).
Hopefully that didnβt sound too demanding - I think if the right person is out there youβll know what I mean by the points above!
Cheers βπΌ
On a nice summer day when you're going for a quiet drink with friends outside, the one thing that helps to improve the situation is a growling quad-bike going around the area for an hour. What a gentlemen he is!
Here's a lovely video to celebrate him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGyKBFCd_u4
